Calm down guys, it’s just one photo

Like all celebrity couples, Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards have had to put up with their fair share of split rumours. However, despite the fact that they seem to still be going strong, One Direction fans have slammed the Steal My Girl hitmaker for cheating on his fiancé. The evidence? One grainy photo of someone who looks a bit like the star holding hands with another girl… Talk about an overreaction!

This isn’t the first time Zayn, 22, has been involved in a photo scandal. Remember those nude pics? Well just as those turned out to be fake, we reckon this story will have a pretty similar ending. We all know that Zayn has been accused of cheating on Perrie, 21, in the past. But the idea that this one questionable photo can prove that he’s a love rat is about as likely as himrunning off and eloping with Liam Payne. But, of course, that hasn’t stopped the fandom from drawing their own conclusions.

“Zayn has cheated multiple times before why are yall so surprised? Zayn is a cheater,” one fan tweeted, referring to the unfounded rumours. Another added, “’Zayn cheated’ *starts lowly playing nobody’s perfect and slowly raises the volume*.” One fan reasoned, “Alright where is your proof? Where are you getting this information from? Did Zayn tell you himself? Did Perrie?” Whilst another found a way to make light of the situation, posting, “This only proves that Zayn is into blondes and I’m not blonde. GODDAMMIT. I need to go bleach my hair.”

Zayn has been at the center of cheating rumours multiple times since hooking up with Perrie in 2011, but has never commented on the state of their relationship. Perrie, meanwhile, has stood by her man, and back in 2013, as photos emerged that seemed to prove he had indeed cheated on his pretty missus, she insisted that they are “really happy.” Adding, “It’s really hard but I trust him.”

One of the theories fans are now working on is that the couple split up a while ago and have already started dating new people, but the Little Mix star debunked those rumours when she posted a snap of her engagement ring just four days ago. But that hasn’t been enough to settle some fans, who have called for the 1D star to speak out against the claims. “Zayn hasn’t tweeted in 8 days this would be a perfect time for him to return,” one user pointed out.

Despite showing a united front, the couple still has their problems, with Perrie recently admitting that it can be hard to spend some quality time together. “Finding a time when we’re both off, we’re both free, is difficult,” she told Tabloid. Explaining that she and bandmate Jesy, who is dating Rixton’s Jake Roche, are in the same boat, she admitted that it wasn’t all bad, adding, “They want us to do well, as well. They want us to succeed and they’re so positive about everything and give us advice. It’s really sweet.”
