They stood around calmly, waiting for the others.
“So Tach's going to be our leader?” Speed asked.
“Yeah. It's time you got on your feet and time I go back to my other friends.”
“You're worried, Shade.”
“I know. But I have reason to be.”
“Care to share?”
“Not really.”
“M'kay.”
“How much longer?” Talon asked.
“Not long now. I say...five minutes at most.”
“Shade, will you visit us?” Echo asked.
“Of course. I just...can't work with teams anymore. I'm better off on my own.”
“Ever since Talia, huh?”
“Yes.”
Speed looked down at the burglars they had snagged after the mission.
“You think we should turn them in?” he asked.
“Not yet,” Shade answered. “Soon. I think they'll be out for awhile anyhow.”
The sound of motorcycles was heard and they soon saw the headlights.
“Right on schedule,” Shade whispered. “Go for it Speed.”
“I love doing this!”
Speed ran into the street, circling the vehicles a few times before running back to his team. As predicted, the other team followed him.
“Should we play or just come out?” Echo asked.
“Play of course! You guys have powers that YJ doesn't! Let's play!”
Shade smirked at the astounded team before grappling to the top of a building. She laughed almost evilly and ran. The others looked at each other before shrugging.
“Come on Falc,” Speed said. “Let's keep my favorite girl busy!”
“Sure thing!”
The two took off, going down a different street than Shade had. Falcon was flying at the same speed his friend was, making it easier for both of them.
“Shall we?” Talon asked Echo.
“We shall!”
Echo turned and Talon hoped on her back. Echo flew down another street.
“This is fun! We should've done this long ago!” Talon said, calmly shooting a few arrows to get attention.
“I agree!”
Acqua looked to Ares.
“Ready?” he asked.
Ares smirked. He sparked a small fire and Acqua used his ability over wind to make it flare. The two smirked at each other before hopping on their bikes and riding away. The Young Justice team looked around.
“I'll go after the two girls!” Erin announced.
“Megan and I will come with you!” Artemis exclaimed.
Erin nodded and the three followed the girl shooting arrows. Aqualad and Superboy went after the last two while Wally and Willow went after the faster two. That left Robin to go after the leader. He got off his bike and, using his grappling hook, got to the top of the building. The leader was leaning against an AC unit on the next rooftop. When she saw him, she smiled and took off running again. He followed, determined to catch her.
