“Robin. You may want to sit” Batman suggested. Robin sat on the end of my bed.
“Robin, before you, there has been two other Robin’s. The first one turned into Night Wing, and the second, Jason Todd, was killed, brought back to life, then turned into Red Hood” Batman explained. Robin looked pale. I wasn’t sure of the proper protocol. Do I comfort him, do I stay away? What would Shayera do? She would comfort him. I reached over and placed my hand on his shoulder to offer comfort. And he turned on me and hugged me. My eyes widened in surprise. I hugged him back, un sure why he was hugging me.
‘Uh, Megan. What’s happening?’ I asked
‘He’s hugging you’ she smiled
‘I noticed, but why?!’ I demanded
‘Why don’t you ask him?’ She recommended
“Uh, Robin? Why are you hugging me?” I asked. I saw a look of annoyance on Wally’s face. I smiled a little. Robin stopped hugging me. Great, now I was cold!
“You offered me comfort. That comforted me” He said simply
“Okay. Thank you for the explanation” I nodded. That seemed reasonable. I got up and started to walk to my room when Batman grabbed my arm.
“Where do you think you’re going?” he demanded
“My room. I need to change” I said
“You have to come right back. You’re not fully healed yet. You lost too much blood to be healed yet!” Batman ordered.
“Bat’s I’m fine. When I went into my mind a couple minutes ago, I also got my ever lasting fire of my mind to heal me. So, I’m fine” I explained
“Fine. But if you feel dizzy or light-headed, come straight back!” he instructed as I left. When I got to my room, someone else was waiting for me. It was Connor.
“Hey Connor” I smiled
“Alex, what’s going on between you and Night Wing?” he asked
“Excuse me?!” I said. I felt my face turn red. My heart was hammering.
“Do you like Night Wing? Like as in more than a friend?” he asked
“Connor, I need to tell you something nobody knows. But you have to promise not to tell anyone!” I said
“I promise” he said solemnly
“The truth is, do like him more than a friend. I like him like family. Like the cousin I never had. You guys are like the family I never had. You and Kalder are my responsible older brothers, Wally is like my annoying, funny brother, Artemis and Megan are like my sisters and Robin is like my little, immature, hacking genius brother that has the capacity to care when it counts. Night Wing is like a new cousin.” I explained. Connor left.
