I need Help with explaining to my parents that Yaoi isnt a bad thing. They are stubborn and will not listen to any of my thoughts or feelings. What should I do?
Believe me, no matter what you say they won't listen to you. For me, the only thing i could do and always do is read them when i'm alone or if you use laptop just bring it in your room, lock the room and read. :)
Hey... My parents (especially my dad) doesn't allow me to watch anymore anime no matter what kind of genre... My dad despises non-straight people especially Yaoi... but I don't care I still keep watching it even if they don't know (Yaoi).
Don't be too hard on yourself. Is there a reason why you want to convince them anyway?
Just read/watch anime you want privately.
I mean seriously, they have their own interests, we have ours...
Don't think about it too much...
My parents irritate me a lot...

No need ofcourse. what for? I lock my room and read/watch yaoi everyday :)
Well tell them that it is perfectly alright that yaoi is a good thing and that lots of people read and find it acceptable.Also mention to them that they should let you read what you want.
Who cares if your mom and dad won't pay attation just keep reading yaoi, if they take away your laptop then us your friends or find a friend that like yaoi to and stuff.
I'm truly sorry to say this, but I don't think your parents will EVER be okay with Yaoi. Much less support it. My parents are nice parents and they support stuff I do, but not when it comes to Anime. Especially Yaoi. If you're a Christian or Catholic, they tell you it's bad and not right moral and all that. Believe me, I'm Roman Catholic and they tell me these things. I told my parents I wouldn't support anymore, but I kept it a secret that I still support. No one in my family knows about it. Only my friends know. (They support too. Some of them. ^^;) So, I think it's best if you just keep it a secret to your family.

Hey... me too.. I have the same experience too... all I think about is well... Let them think what they want... I don't care as long as I have a freaking undisturbed life!!!!
dont say christians think yaoi and gay romance is immoral. maybe your family does but many people do not. i am christian and i read yaoi and support gay rights, and people who use religion as an exuse to discrimante againsts homosexuals make me sick...
Well, if you're into hardcore yaoi, and your parents know about that, then tell them that at least during guy on guy sex, one of them isn't going to make the other pregnant...unless it one of those non-sense-making-fanfics that some people write.
If it's just platonic yaoi you're into, tell them the problems they have with you being into it are their own problems. If they don't like it, fine. They don't have to...none of my friends are into yaoi, so I just learn to cope with other peoples' opinions.
