What the Bellas do is take their opponent's insecurities, pick at them, and mock them in childish ways (such as making quacking noises at Natalya after calling her an ugly duckling). This is exactly what LayCool were known for.

Mocking your opponent is fine, and very common. But when you specifically mock their looks in a way similar to a 12 year old bully, you're copying the LayCool gimmick. My guess is that WWE doesn't have their favorite female tag team anymore, so they replaced them with a cheap knock off.
