"Good morning," I hear the principal say as she does every day. Normally, I would politely respond to that with a "Thank you Mrs. Monrale, you too," but today I'm just pissed.

How can she say that?! It was awful of her to say such a thing! "It is most definitely not a good morning," I mutter to myself. But she is all the way down the hallway now.

It’s always sad when a long break ends. Rushing to finish all that work teachers give you, trying to get a good outfit because it’s like the first day all over again. Spring break was awesome. Annabelle and I went and spent the week camping. We played in the waterfalls in the little creek, made s’mores, and made a mess of our folks camper. It was great, just the two of us. I can’t believe she decided to spend her break with me, instead of with all her senior friends on some senior trip.

I opened my light blue eyes to buttery sunshine flooding through my window; no surprise despite the fact it was December 7. I live in Atlanta, Georgia, an always warm, always sunny place. The trees were always a brilliant green, the air always warm, and clouds rarely blocked the sky.
I detested it. Nothing against Atlanta itself, it was just too green, too bright, too hot. . . The air was thick and the humidity was high, and the unforgiving sun constantly beat down on my forehead. Maybe it's just me, but I fail to understand how anyone could possibly live in a place with even this much...

It has been about two years since I’ve seen Matt, but I kept him in my mind, knowing he was real. Since then I have become sick with a deadly disease known as Typhoid fever.
