"...What do you mean?" Mom asked. We'd told her about the rent. I had managed to get off the table, but I had to lean against the counter for support. My leg was so sore.

"Mom," Paige said slowly. "We're going to get evicted if we don't pay it."

"So just pay it," she said, oblivious to the seriousness of the situation.

"We can't," Paige said. "We have no money."

"What happened to all of it?" Mom asked, her eyes widening.

"We used it to pay the hospital bill last month. So Matt had offered to pay the rent, and he didn't. Now we're in trouble." Mom was quiet for a moment, then rolled her eyes and waved us off.

"Well, I'm sure you'll be able to get the money, Paige," she said cheerfully. My eyes widened. She did not just say that.

"I can't make that much money, Mom. We have a week before we get kicked out."

"Can't you ask Matt for the money?" I asked, annoyed.

"Shelby," she said in a scolding voice. "That's rude. I don't want to bother him for money!"

"But Mom, we'll get kicked out if we don't!" I said. "Where are we going to go?" That seemed to make her realize how much trouble we were in.

"I... I don't know," she said. Then she shrugged. "I'm sure Matt would let us stay with him." She went and left. Probably to Matt's house. I rolled my eyes.

"She's hopeless," I said. Paige sighed.

"Bedtime," she said. We put Auburn down in her crib, then everyone got in bed. I slept on the side away from the wall this time, so it'd be able to get in and out of bed easier.

"What if he doesn't want us?" Kirsten asked in the darkness. Paige and I turned our heads to her.

"Hm?" Paige asked.

"Matt," she said. "He doesn't like us. Why would he let us live with him?" She had a good point. I'd thought of it before, but I'd hoped it was just me. So the others knew it too...

"I think he will," Paige said. "He might not like us, but I'm sure he'll let us go if we have nowhere to stay."

***

"Um, hello," I said. I went back to the office building I had applied for. Being a secretary was a long shot, but it'd pay well if I got the job. "I was wondering if you'd looked over my application yet." Her smiled faded a little.

"Uh, yes... About that..." she said. "We looked you up on the computer." My eyes widened. This town is pretty poor, and not so advanced in technology. A very little amount of companies have computers, so I hadn't been worried at all about lying about my age. "We know you're not twenty two. You're not getting the job."

"But... I really need this job," I said. I felt pathetic pleading, but I was desperate.

"I'm sorry, kid." I sighed and left, limping on my leg. Now what was I going to do? I clenched my hands into fists. I can never do anything right. I always screw things up. I could've potentially made us even more poor yesterday, if Paige had had to pay the jail bail, and a hospital bill if she hadn't known how to fix my leg.

I limped home, which took longer thanks to that fucking guy yesterday. Paige was waiting for me, because she needed to go to work. She looked at me hopefully. I frowned and shook my head.

"I didn't get it," I sighed. She pouted, and patted my head.

"It's ok, Shelby."

"No it's not. I wanted to help, but I can't."

"It's ok," she said again. "We'll make this work... I gotta go. See ya later." I went inside after she left. Sage was playing with the silverware (she gets bored, and has quite an imagination), and Kirsten was feeding Auburn her bottle. They looked at me hopefully, just like Paige had.

"Nope," I sighed. They said nothing. Sage got up and went to our room.

"She's scared," Kirsten said quietly. I nodded and went to our room, where Sage was laying on the bed, with her face buried into the pillow. I sat down next to her, and stroked her hair.

"What's wrong, Sage?" I said quietly.

"Ay hone when uh go," she mumbled against the pillow. I flipped her over on her back.

"Say again?"

"I don't want to go," she said, her face stained with tears.

"Neither do I, Sage," I said quietly. "None of us do. And we're trying everything we can so we don't have to. But we might," I said. "We might not have a choice." She sniffed.

"I don't like him," she said. "He scares me."

"There's nothing to be scared of," I told her. "He won't hurt you." She pouted. "Everything will be fine, Sage. I promise."

"Cross your heart?" I nodded. Then she leaned forward and hugged me. There was the slam of a door. I left Sage and went to the front door, first afraid that someone had broken in. I saw it was Paige.

"What's wrong," I breathed. She groaned, and shook her head, pacing for a while. My heart started racing. Oh no. "What's wrong?" I said again, louder this time.

"I got laid off," she said. My heart dropped into my stomach. That was it. We were moving into Matt's. No question about it. Sage whimpered, coming into the room.

"Guess we're going," Kirsten sighed.

***

Five days later, our week was up. We hadn't gotten the money. Now we were screwed.

"Alright, girls. Pack your stuff!" Mom said cheerfully. She was just glad to be moving in with Matt. Like she practically didn't live there already...

"Mommy, I don't wanna go," Sage whined, carrying a bundle of clothes in her arms.

"We have to," Mom said, unfeeling. This woman really pissed me off sometimes It seemed like she never even cared about us... which was most of the time.

"It's ok," I whispered to Sage, patting her back. I took the giant pile of clothes from her, and stuffed them into threw plastic grocery bags. These were our suitcases. I put the handles around my arm, and picked up Sage. Paige held Auburn, and some other things we were taking with us. We began walking to Matt's, leaving our house behind. I almost wanted to cry. This was the house I was born in; where I'd lived my whole life.

"Where are we going to sleep?" Kirsten asked me, low enough so Mom couldn't hear.

"Probably outside in dog houses," I rolled my eyes. Sage whimpered. "I'm kidding," I said. But I wouldn't put it past Matt.

Finally we got to Matt's. Mom knocked on the door, and let herself in at the same time.

"Matt!" she squealed. She ran over and hugged him. Fury burned within me.

"Hey, hun," he said. He looked at us, and raised an eyebrow. "Um... What's going on?" There was an awkward silence.

"What do you mean?" I finally spat out. "We're moving in....?"

"What?" Matt asked, incredulous. "I never said that...?" We all looked to Mom, who had a sudden expression of fear. She said nothing.

"You didn't ask him?!" I said.

Ian, grabbed my hand aging, "where are we going?" I asked him. He just smiled "first were going to get some food in you. second I'll take you back to my place and you can stay there."
"What about my stuff it's in my car, which is back there?"
I turned around, and then he grabbed me "do you mean that thing over there." I nodded, "Hey aren't you 16, you don't have your full license yet, so why are you driving." I looked at him, then walked to my car, what was that? I thought, wasn't my car back there.
Ian looked at me, "come on what's taking so long?" I turned away and then I got in my car, I...

Chapter 1
Starting Point

I find it funny where I can end up sometimes. In second grade, I ended up face to face with the biggest bully, Hugo. He was in fifth grade and practically had a moustache. There was even a rumor that he had two kids already with some girl up at my city’s high school. Hugo beat the crap out of me and why? Because I decided to play The Hero and stand up for my friend.
Once at the zoo, I tried to save a kid’s balloon and ended up in the monkey pit because I broke through the net. I got tons of poo thrown at my face and a...

The hardest part about saying goodbye wasn’t the leaving,
It was knowing that once I left you would forget about me.
You swore you wouldn’t but I know you,
Everything is a joke to you about me.
You’ll go on as if I never exsited.
As if what we had was nothing.

Hope is fading from my lips.
With every breathe I take,
With every step that I take,
With every tear I shed,
You make it worse.
All my trust that I built up with you,
Is gone because of the stupid things you did.
I tried to give you chances,
But you pushed me to far,
I gave you one to many.

Now look whose back,
Begging for another chance,
Begging...

This isn't a timeline story Gilbert is three and this is my first try at fanfiction, so please be gentle!

All CSI characters owned by CBS except for Grissom Junior, he's mine, I hope!

When I woke up I saw three faces that I knew the other three I didn’t and me being a shy three year old I panicked, loudly! I cried into Daddy’s neck and shook “whoa Gilbert, what’s the matter baby?” asked Daddy trying his best to soothe me, I started to sniffle and said in a quiet voice “me frightened, strangers” and I snuggled into Daddy’s body “don’t worry Gilbert they won’t hurt you,...

DUNCAN'S POV:

I really don't know what I was getting into and why I was here. This was rediculous,Chris was rediculous. I looked around and saw person after person waiting to go into a pointless little room just to make a tape. Why didn't they do this at home like the rest of us? And plus, I didn't like the "lovey-dovey" looks all the girls gave me, which made me think A LOT about Courtney, and Gwenn even.

Harold looked at me, "Duncan, the way to positive thinking is to observe."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" I snorted in his face.

He gave me a piece of paper and a pencil. "Wrtie the...

"Welcome to the Auditions! I'm Chris, the fabulous host!" Chris greeted the thousands of people, smiling. He handed us forms and numbers (which we put on and signed the forms) and waited to make a video for our audition.
"Why can't we just do this at home?" I asked suspiciously.
"I wanted to try something different," he said smirking.
"Whatever," I shrugged and went into the back room where there was nothing but a chair and a camera. I turned on the camera and slowly went back to the chair.
"Alrighty," I began, "I guess you wanna know my audition and why I wanna go? Hmmm I honestly don't know....

I felt like I was in jail that Saturday. I was confined to my room, and only allowed to leave for the bathroom. I wasn't allowed anything to eat or drink. Luckily, after the first time this happened when I was nine, I always keep a huge stash of food and drinks in my closet dresser. But there's only so much to do in a tiny room. I read more than a hundred pages of a book before noon.

Then I heard the doorbell ring. I looked out the window, but I couldn't see who was at the door. I went to my door, lightly on my toes, and cracked the door open. I heard a voice that could only belong to Micah....

I was literally green. I kept throwing myself over the side expecting to hurl but I never did. Rocking back and forth and side to side was about as uncomfortable and sick as riding on a rollercoaster that was not quite on the tracks. Man did I feel awful. I felt this way because I was sitting in a miniboat that was heading towards land. I was surrounded by water and by other crew members from the big ship we've been sailing  on since I was five. Now I'm twelve. Long time, I know. Also in the boat with me were Richards, the best captain in the world, Craman who loves to row and steer our ship,...

"Shelby. Calm down. I know this is scary and... confusing." Tears streaked down my cheeks. What about Paige? Kirsten? Sage? Were they still here? Was I the only one left behind? "Your sisters are still asleep. Paige is downstairs. She knows."

"Sage! Sage, please wake up!" Paige and I pleaded. She was still unconscious, but her heart was beating. She was still alive.

"What happened to her?" Mom asked, her voice slightly worried.

"She passed out," I said, irritated.

"I need to get her into town," Paige said quickly. "I need to run." She picked up Sage, and took a deep breath. The town wasn't that far away, but this was urgent. She started running, which wasn't that fast since she was so tired. But she still got pretty far ahead of us. My heart was racing. Sage couldn't die. Not this young. Not like this. That just wasn't fair.

Dreams,
crashed and faded
by the fate
that follows
the land
on which
you're standing.

Dreams
are dead...

Fighting for
better days
now seems so
vainly,
everything went
wrong.

Dreams are
broken
in so many nights
that echo
along with
dust of past.

Put yourself
together
and hold on
to something
good,
you might survive,
you might escape
from the fate
that follows
the land

Days are black
and cold,
nights spent
in despair
and thinking.
Your fate is
bounded to
the land

So Long and Goodnight

Please,please hold me tight
I am not ready for a broken wings flight
With the sun oh so bright
So long and goodnight
One last vampire bite
You are the one that's right
We sink into the night
So long and goodnight
With skin like snow white
The vampires will fight
Please keep me in your sight
So long and goodnight
Don't let them give me a fright
I know they just might
The fire is going to ignite
So long and goodnight

A young ebony hedgehog walked along the shore of the Emerald Coast. Her crimson red eyes focused on the rolling waves. She always felt calm around the water. Suddenly, a large boom sounded behind the hedgehog, causing her knees to buckle. "What was that?!" A figure in the distance started towards her. "Get out of here! Quick!" it called. The ebony hedgehog felt the ground shake violently. "Move! Now!" The figure disappeared in thin air. "Hey!" The hedgehog felt something grab her hand.

5 years later...

"Move it, Sky! You're gonna make us late!"...

That same day - Eric's perspective

Oh Jeez...Why did she have to point me out to her friends? I wasn't interesting. They know that I had been watching her for months.
To stop meeting her gaze and being embarrassed I hid myself in a book hoping that I would stop being embarrassed.
"Hey Eric you must be really into that book," My friend Tom said to me as he sat down across from me.
Maybe not. I put the book down a bit "Oh yeah it's great. Hey do you have girls staring at you?" I asked him
His face lit up and he smirked "Oh yeah it's great. I get asked out all the time," he said
I frowned "Nobody...

A few weeks ago my class had to pick a quote/lyric that meant something. So i googled it and found some nice quotes from my good buddy Albert Einstein. We all know him. Anyway this is what i found:
"Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love."
And as soon as i read that I just went awwwww. I mean is that not one of the best love quotes ever.
Really spoke to me i just loved it! And ever since then haven't forgot. What do you think of this quote.

The District

I quietly and quickly pick the katniss plant's roots. Have to hurry home, or at least the ruined building I call my home. Living a destroyed old district, you kind of get used to the idea of having to hurry back to ruined buildings, before the rats and bugs decide to settle into your so called home.I start on my way back, when I see a plump rabbit, just watching me desperately pick the roots, while coated in mud. This annoys me, and with one swift movement, I knife the fat fool from afar. A direct hit. Perfect. I've been working on my knife throwing skills, and got a lucky...
