I was sitting. Doodling on a notepad with a purple pen and sitting on my favorite green beanbag chair.
“Oni, Oni!”(Oh-nee) Yelled my eldest sister June as she jogged into my room oh so gracefully. I sat upright, noticing that I was slouching again.
'Sit up straight or you’re gonna get a crooked spine and spend the rest of you’re life in a wheelchair.' I mocked my Mom’s frequent nags. She’s a Chiropractor, you know how they are.
“What is it my Lovely sister dear?” I asked June snidely while rolling my eyes.
You see, I haven’t been in the best mood these past few months. I just recently discovered that, that the guy who I thought was “the one” didn’t end up fitting the role. He never even loved me back. So let’s just say that I felt used, heartbroken, and depressed. I gave him everything. Just recently I got out of a depression.
Any way, “Oni! Mom and dad want to see you… like NOW!” said June, as she was tugging on my arm trying to pull me off of my lazy ass. I groaned. “Get up, or I’m gonna do it for you, don’t make me drag you down the hallway.” threatened June.
I rolled my eyes at her then slowly stood up, and rubbed my butt. It was sore. I grabbed my Ipod and strolled out of my room with a sleeping foot, with June closely behind. Making sure I don't make a run for it. I stopped abruptly outside of my door frame, and June ran into my back. She made an “ouf” sound from the impact. She looked at me, glared, then laughed. She walked around me then skipped the rest of the way down the hallway into the living room where our parents waited so patiently. I watched her and gave a little chuckle. I love her so much. Anyway, I had to stop because I desperately needed to change the song on my Ipod. It was Rihanna. You get my point. I've never liked her music, but June did. We share an Itunes, so you know. June is innocent. But, she’s like a 12 year old molded inside the body of a 27 year old. Yeah, she’s 27, and VERY childish. I can’t even believe it myself sometimes. Nothing is mentally wrong with her, but this is just the way she is. So, I changed the song to something a little bit better. Let’s say 'Alone I Break by KoRn'. Much better. I put my Ipod up to my chest, put one of my headphones in my ear. Took a deep breath, and walked the rest of the short distance leading to the living room. For some reason I just don't like talking to my parents, or anyone else for that matter anymore. I peered around the corner saw my mom with that award winning Betty Crocker smile. She saw my glance around the corner. Just like I’d hope she hadn’t. So, I had nothing to do but suck it up and walk into the living room. My mom patted the spot next to her on the sofa. All that I could do was put a fake smile on my face and sit. After I sat I tried to snuggle up in the very corner of the sofa, being as far away as my mom as possible. She noticed the attempts and pulled me close. She kissed the top of my head and started conversation.
“Ok, Oni." She stopped talking and noticed that I had a headphone in. She pulled it out of my ear and I glared at her for a second. She didn't like that, so I just turned my Ipod off. My mom spoke again "I know that your not having the best year so far. So, your father and I came up with the absolute best idea for a summer getaway present just for you!”
I glanced up at my dad who was sitting across the room in his recliner, watching T.V and not paying attention. My mom cleared her throat.
“Oh, sorry hun.” my dad said Turning off the T.V and putting the leg down on the recliner. He put his attention on me.
“So, what’s this amazing present then?” I asked sarcastically.
“Sweetie, your going to Las Vegas.” my mom said with a smile widening with every word. I stood up, I couldn’t believe it! I was dumbfounded. I had always wanted to go to Vegas since I was a little girl! Also, when I was in my depression. I found something. That Something was Criss Angel. He lives in Vegas! I was watching Dog the Bounty Hunter and what came up next was Criss Angel Mindfreak. I watched the show and became hooked. He was amazing.
“Mom, Dad.” It was the first time I smiled for real in 5 months.
“I love you guys so much!” My mom stood up and hugged me.
“Baby, you’re going tomorrow. You should start packing.”
“Oh I will.” I said still surprised as hell.
“I’ll help!” said June cheerfully getting up from the recliner on the other side of the couch. I forgot she was there. I went around and gave everyone hugs.
Then, “sorry to say guys, but I’ve got to go and clean myself.” I said while sniffing my shirt. You realize that you don’t care about hygiene when you’re moping around all the time. The rest of the family agreed with my choice. I walked into the bathroom. Stared at myself in the mirror and realized that I was a disaster. How this one trip changed my entire perspective on everyone and everything, I don’t know. It just did.

"It's nice here. I don't know many people though..." Victor brushed his hair back, smiling again. "Well, by tomorrow, all of the kids at school will wanna be your friend." "Oh..." Jade turned slightly to see the raven haired boy deep in thought. "What is it?" "Hn? Oh, it's nothing. Oh, we're here." The blonde looked up ahead and saw her house. "Really? Cause my house is right there." She pointed, and Victor burst out laughing. "Haha-I live right next to you then..." The blonde looked at the house next to hers. It seemed normal. A little old fashioned, but definitely normal. "Cool! Well, I'll see you tomorrow then?" "Yeah..." The onyx eyed boy took Jade's hand, kissed it lightly, then walked off. "What was that?"
