Thunder led me out of his office with an arm around my shoulder. My tattos started hurting again, so I rubbed them.
"What's wrong?" Jenny came up to me.
"Uh, I just had an itch," I said, putting my arms down to my side. Thunder took them though and rubbed my little bird tattos with his thumb.
"When did you get this?" He asked.
"Like last night," I said, taking my arms back.
"What does your wolf look like?" I sighed. I really don't want to Change, but I guess I have to. So I let my mind and body "go wolf". Scarlett, Jenny, and Thunder gasped. Hugo's already seen me as a wolf, so this is nothing new to him.
"A pure, white wolf," Jenny breathed. "Dad, is she-"
"I don't know," Thunder whispered. "I need some time to think. Hugo, why don't you and Nicole go run around or hunt for a bar-b-que." Thunder rubbed his forhead and went back to his office.
"Come on, mutt," Hugo was already running out the door in wolf form. I growled at him and walked out the door. He led me past all the houses. People still stared at me when we walked by. I don't really like all of this attention.
We raced each other in the woods. I laughed as Hugo kept tripping over tree branches. We chased birds and rabbits, but never caught one. I could have, but I just wanted to have fun.
"Wait, you smell that?" Hugo stopped me. I sniffed the air.
"Deer," I smiled brightly. Time to show off my skills. I turned to my right and kept close to the ground. I peeked through a bush to find a lone doe. The tiny deer ate peacefully, not realizing we were here. I got ready to spring out of the bush and get her. I jumped and the doe lifted her head. She ran and I ran after her. I hope Hugo isn't following, I want to do this on my own.
I jumped onto a ledge so I was above the deer. As I got closer I got ready to jump. I sprung into the air and landed on the doe.
-Thunder's P.O.V.-
I haven't seen a wolf like Nicole in years. Not since Nikita died. I don't think Nikita had a daughter, but I could be wrong. Nicole could be wearing contacts to make her eyes red. If to many people saw her, she'd be shunned and even killed. I need to find her.
I charged out of my office. My daughters sat on the couch, playing a video game.
"I'm going out," I called to them. I heard them mutter a good bye. I walked as fast as I could down the road and to the forest. I Changed and ran for them. I followed the paw prints. They were a mess and some times I would see a print of one of them that hit the ground. I soon smelled deer and blood. I walked through a bush and found Nicole dragging a doe. She dropped it when she saw me.
"I caught dinner," she said proudly.
"She did it all by herself," Hugo said. I looked at Nicole, her snow white fur blowing in the wind.
"Let me take the doe," I grabbed the dead animal by the leg. "You two go home. Nicole, try to make sure no one see's you." They looked at me like I'm crazy. "NOW." They ran together. I might even be wrong, Nicole might not even be a Faith.

The eyesight of wolves is not fully understood, thought it is probably similar to that of domesticated dogs. Compared with humans, wolves have three to four times the density of light-sensing rods in their retinas, which gives them keener night vision. Yet because they lack a fovea (the tiny pit on the retina) they cannot match a human's ability to focus on objects at a long distance.
The eerie, harmonic chorus howl so engrained in our collective unconscious is used both defensively and to rally the pack. Chorus howling also brings the wolves enjoyment, thought pack politics dictate that low-ranking wolves not to join in uninvited.
