1987's Superman 4: The Quest for Peace was the last film that had Christopher Reeve playing Superman. Something that might seem odd about the film is how short it was. The film was only 90 minutes long. The previous three Superman films were all two hours long at the minimum.

The running time for the theatrical releases of the Superman films:

Superman: 143 minutes
Superman 2: 127 minutes
Superman 3: 125 minutes
Superman 4: 90 minutes

Superman 4 being over a half hour shorter than the other films was surprising. Over thirty minutes of content was cut out of the film. You might be wondering why they'd cut out so much from the film. Apparently, test audiences didn't respond well to the film, so they tried to cut it down as much as they could. Sadly, this led to several important scenes being cut out of the film.

In the film, Superman battles a villain called Nuclear Man. Originally, there was supposed to be two Nuclear Mans in the film. Deleted scenes had Lex Luthor creating a prototype Nuclear Man. The prototype Nuclear Man was much more cheerful but also less intelligent than the other Nuclear Man. The prototype Nuclear Man was made to destroy Superman. He and Superman had a fight scene. As to be expected, Superman didn't get destroyed. He won and defeated the prototype Nuclear Man. That led to Lex Luthor creating the next Nuclear Man.

There was a deleted scene where there was a tornado. A little girl started being taken away by the tornado, so Superman flew by and saved the little girl. The little girl was played by Alexandra Reeve, Christopher Reeve's daughter.

The theatrical release had a subplot involving Lacy Warfield, the daughter of a rich man that was trying to take over the Daily Planet. Lacy started off as a rich, spoiled person, but Clark Kent's modest kindness rubbed off on her and inspired her to become a better person. Sadly, a lot of important scenes were cut out of this subplot. Deleted scenes had Nuclear Man kidnapping Lacy and bringing her to Lex's place. Lex attempted to sneak out, but Superman showed up. That led to some really funny lines from Lex. Lacy helped serve as the bait Superman needed to distract Nuclear Man from his violent rampage. Lacy's last scene was also cut from the film. The scene showed her sharing a tender goodbye with Clark.

Another scene from the end of the film that was cut had Superman taking a boy named Jeremy for a ride around space. The scene had Superman express his hope for things in the world to get better.

All of these scenes were very important to the film, so cutting them out was a mistake. These scenes can be watched as extras on the DVD release of Superman 4. However, it would be great to see the scenes be put back into the film. If these scenes were added back into the film, the film's storylines would make more sense.

Superman 4 was hated by a lot of people. I personally loved the film, but a lot of Superman fans consider it to be the worst Superman film. Considering the film's poor reputation, you might be wondering what the point would be of releasing an extended cut of the film. Well, there have been instances where perfectly good films get chopped into shorter, less coherent films. When these films get an extended version, they tend to get more respect. I believe that it's possible for Superman 4 to win over more fans if the fans got to see the full version of the film.

Christopher Reeve was, still and always will be one of the most popular actors to play Superman. His fans wish that they could see more of him in the role, so seeing a new version of one of his films could be a real treat for them. Superman 4 was Christopher Reeve's final time playing his most iconic role, so I think it's about time that the longer version of the film gets released.

Barbie is a 2023 film adaptation of the popular line of dolls of the same name. When the Barbie film first started getting advertised, it quickly made an impression on people. It became clear that the live-action Barbie film wasn't going to be like any of the animated Barbie films. It was going in a very unique direction. Since then, people have wanted to see how the film would turn out.

The Barbie film has the titular character living in Barbieland. At first, everything seems to be perfect for all of the Barbies. However, the main Barbie of the film starts displaying humanistic attributes that...

Writing articles is a fun hobby, but it isn't always easy. There are times where I don't know what to write. Also, there are times where I don't feel like writing. However, despite all the challenges that I've faced, writing articles for Fanpop has become something that I really enjoy.

Why do I enjoy writing articles on Fanpop? Because it gives me a chance to share my thoughts with you. Due to my autism, I struggle to communicate in conventual ways. However, writing these articles gives me a chance to share how I feel with you. It has given me a chance to let you know what I like and why I like...

In a previous article, I listed off the various DVDs in my Batman collection. A majority of my superhero DVDs are Batman DVDs. However, I do have DVDs of other superhero stuff, so I thought I'd list them off.

Superman

Aside from Batman, Superman is the superhero that I have the most DVDs of. That's probably because Superman is one of my favorite superheroes in addition to being a character that has had more DVDs than most superheroes.

My Superman DVDs include the following:

Superman 2: The Richard Donner Cut

Superman Returns

Superman 5 Film Collection (This DVD set includes the four Christopher Reeve...

The Riddler is one of my all-time favorite villains, because of how well he was played by Frank Gorshin. Frank Gorshin was the very first actor to play a classic villain from the Batman comics. To this day, I think he remains one of the most talented actors to have ever appeared in the Batman franchise. For this article, I'll be listing Frank Gorshin's various appearances in Batman.

Episodes from the original Batman television series that Frank Gorshin played the Riddler in:

1. Hi Diddle Riddle

2. Smack in the Middle

3. A Riddle a Day Keeps the Riddler Away

4. When the Rat's Away the Mice Will Play...

In my previous article, I mentioned how Steve's message for the fans of Blue's Clues inspired me to make a message for Steve. In addition, it has inspired me to make a message for another one of my favorite people. In this case, I have a message for someone very, very special. The person that I'm referring to is my grandfather.

My message for my grandfather:

Hi, Grandfather. When I was younger, you used to pick me up after school and take me to the comic book store. I was a huge fan of superheroes, so the comic book store was my favorite store in the whole world. School was very stressful for...

For the 25th anniversary of Blue Clues, Steven Burns made a video for the fans. In the video, he talked about what he had been up to since he left the series. He also expressed his eternal gratitude to the fans for all the help that they have given him over the years. Steve's video is one of my personal favorite videos of all time. In order to thank Steve, I'd like to share a message of my own that's inspired by his message.

My message for Steve:

Hi, Steve. Do you remember how when I was little, I would watch you and Blue? Back then, I was just learning to walk and talk, so my memories might...

Frozen 3 has been announced. Since I'm obsessed with both Frozen films, I can't wait for Frozen 3. In fact, it's my most anticipated film that's coming out in the next few years. In addition to being excited for the film, I'm hyped to see what dolls they make for Frozen 3. The first Frozen film had a good line of dolls, but Frozen 2 topped it. I would go as far as to say that Frozen 2 has the coolest series of dolls that I've ever seen.

As great as the first Frozen film's dolls were, the selection of characters was a bit limited. The only characters that got dolls were Anna, Elsa, Kristoff...

Adam West was a legendary actor that made a big impact on his fans. He also made a big impact on his co-stars from the Batman television series. For this article, I'll be going over how Adam West got along with them.

Burt Ward

Together, Adam West and Burt Ward were television's original Dynamic Duo. Due to Burt Ward being a young adult at the time, Adam West had a lot to teach his fellow caped crusader. The two became friends and worked together multiple times over the following decades. Burt Ward thought highly of Adam West. His tribute to Adam West was very emotional and sweet.

Note: This article is a sequel to my "The Time I Met Batman" article. I recommend reading that article first.

Back in the day, there were personalized books that parents could order that would insert their kids into the story. In my previous article, I mentioned that there was a personalized Batman book. In addition to there being a Batman book, there was also a book starring Superman and Wonder Woman.

The book was written by Joel Rose.

I will share the contents of the book in this article. I will leave out some sentences for time. The book uses my name, but for this article, I'll refer to myself...

Batman is one of my favorite heroes. There are a lot of reasons why I love Batman, but one reason is because I met him. Yes, Batman and I went on an adventure together. Well, that's sort of true.

Back in the day, there were personalized books that parents could order that would insert their kids into the story. There was a Batman personalized book. It seems like my parents were wise enough to know that I'd love Batman, because I received a Batman book that inserts me into the story.

The book was written by Melissa Peterson.

I will share the contents of the book in this article. I will leave...
