Vegetarians Question

How can I get involved in a animal rights association group?

I want to get involved in one. The problem is that my parents won't allow me to become a veg (I call myself a Vegetarian anyway) and I don't want them to go "No not this" and so on. I want to be able to do something vegetarian related at least. I think that it'd be nice, but I need to know what you do in these animal associations in order to convince my parents (or try to) to let me do this. I know this is the right thing to do. If my parents say no what are other vegetarian related stuff to do? I'm only 14 yrs. old (my age is just to inform you). Well that's all I have to ask. Bye!

A lot of animal rights groups do have youth members, and special activities for their youth members to get involved with, so that might be your best move. If you look on the website for an animal rights group you'd like to get involved with, they have information packs, leaflets and fliers you can print out and give to people locally. They also usually have other things you can do online too such as sign petitions against certain kinds of animal cruelty.

As for convincing your parents, maybe it'd be a good idea to direct them to animal rights websites too? Point them to information about animal cruelty and help them realise why people support animals' rights in the first place. A lot of the reason some people don't support animal rights is because they just don't know what animals actually go through in the first place.

Remember that even if you can't go vegetarian at the moment, there are a number of ways you can get involved with animal rights. Every little thing you manage to do can make a difference in the long run!

Good luck, and let me know if you need any more help.

Oh by the way I forgot to ask something in my question. Do animal rights associations go on during the summer?

I think they just continue throughout the whole year. As a supporter, you can take part at times that suit you. They won't expect you to miss school or work or anything for them! :)
