I recently found out why Hino ended this series so early and kind of mess up way. Apparently Sales been dropping ever since the start of the second arc eventually caused the magazine La La to force Hino into cutting her ending, apparently even twice. As a result, Hino even publically apologized to her readers in her blog for the ending being as rushed as it was, being sorry she wasn't able to tell the full story she wanted.

The last chapter of VK will be on May 24, therefore only 3 chapters after this new chapter. Sadly, I think this manga is rushing towards the end and I think Hino won't be able to make a proper ending in this short time. Too many questions unanswered. But I hope I'm wrong.
