I HAVE AN IMPORTANT QUESTION!!!!!

I have the grudge on DVD... and I found out it is bassed on a REAL legend! Do you believin the legend of Ju-on!? Cause I'm starting to think it's real! Cause last night I heard a crackling noise...! 0o' HELP!!!

Actually I heard that it's based off the Japanese ghost stories (which differ slightly from Western ghost stories). If someone dies with a huge 'grudge' this emotion can develop into an entity which carries out the emotion aka curse. Thus giving you the beginning of a rather decent horror flick. But again, I am not claiming to know the real story.

Yeah, in the speical features, one actor said that the legend goes: a king that was not a friendly person who had a wife, son, and cat. One day, he played a game of chess with a servent. But he lost and killed the servant, but he also killed the wife, the cat, and the son. But only the son became a raging spirit with cat sprit sharing a body with him; to get revenge that will never happen.
