I read this series with only the intention to have good debates with my cousin, since she's read it also. The plot is simple and predictable, the writing is barely up to par with the likes of Stephen King and Anne Rice, and the two main characters are so two-dimensional, they're almost cardboard cut-outs. What I do like about this series is that there are little glimmers of hope where you actually get to see a Vampire behave like a Vampire. You get to see people struggling despite their "perfectness," and those characters make it worth a little more. And no, those characters are not Bella or Edward.

There are better series out there. But this one is good, despite all its flaws.
