One Year Later….
“Scarlett!”
“Kayla! Sit down before you hurt yourself!”
“Well you grab her then before she hurts herself!”
Edward’s quick hands shot out and picked up the running toddler that was wreaking havoc in our living room. He then gently guided me back to the leather sofa where I eased myself onto the seat slowly.
“You should know better,” he chastised me.
I rolled my eyes and folded my arms, letting them rest on the bump in front of me. He sat next to me, holding our squirming daughter in his strong arms.
“Where are the others?” I asked him. “They should be here by now.”
He glanced at the clock on the wall opposite and shrugged.
“Maybe they’re running late,” he said. “Esme did say she was going to pick up Charlie and Jacob.”
“You know,” I said, looking at Scarlett who had given up her escape attempt. “This should really be her second birthday. Carlisle said she was the height and weight for a two year old. Only a little more intelligent.”
“She is technically a year old,” Edward said, stroking her soft auburn hair. “It’s not like she can have a birthday every six months.”
I nodded in agreement.
“She’s growing up too fast,” I sighed.
I watched as Edward launched a tickle attack on her. Her squeals of laughter filled the empty living room. It should be filled with family but they were running late. How could they be late for Scarlett’s birthday? Honestly….
“I think I’ll go check we have enough food,” I said, slowly getting to my feet. “You know Jacob.”
Edward nodded and I plodded out of the living room and along the hallway to the kitchen. We’d only moved in here a few months ago but already it felt like home. Esme, the wonderful woman she was, had designed and built this little house for us. It was a three bedroom, two storey house, complete with an en suite bathroom in two of the bedrooms. With a spacious front and back garden, it was perfect for little ones, she said. As if it wasn’t a hint for us to give her more grandchildren.
And she’d gotten her wish. Right now I was pregnant with another baby. I didn’t know what I was having. This time, Edward and I had decided to keep the sex of the baby a surprise for when he/she was born. We’d banned Alice from deliberately looking into the future to see. Jasper promised he would keep an eye on her for us.
In the kitchen I looked at the spread Edward and I had made. Only four of the people at the party would eat but there was enough to feed a dozen. We’d made extra for Jacob of course. He would probably eat it all, leaving none for Charlie or Scarlett.
“Knock, knock!”
“We’re here!”
“Sorry for being so late. This idiot here left the presents at home!”
I walked as fast as I could back down the hallway where my family was entering through the door. First in was Jacob followed by Charlie. Rosalie was next and behind her was Emmett. Alice and Jasper walked in together with Carlisle and Esme behind.
“Finally,” I said, smiling at them all.
“I didn’t mean to forget the presents,” Emmett said, smiling apologetically. “I was just anxious to get here. Where is she?”
“In the living room with Edward.” I led them all through and as soon as they were in, Scarlett was given all the attention for half an hour. I settled back onto the sofa with Edward while the family lavished her with all their love.
Scarlett loved the attention. Her bright green eyes would light up with glee and a smile would stretch from ear to ear whenever someone paid her the slightest bight of attention.
“Grandad Charlie!” She squealed, holding her arms out to him.
Charlie lifted her up and placed a dozen kisses on each of her cheeks. She squealed with delight and he passed her to Carlisle and Esme.
“She’s so big,” Charlie said, sitting next to me. “Hold old is she?”
“Well, she is the size of a two year old,” Edward answered. “But as you know this is her first birthday.”
He nodded. “Will the same happen to this one?” he pointed at my bump.
“I don’t really want it to,” I said. “They’ll grow up too fast, you know. But I don’t want this one to grow faster than her. So far, it’s been about the same as the first time round.”
“Good.” Charlie nodded.
Edward placed his hand on my swollen belly and smiled as the baby kicked.
“This one is much gentler,” I said to him. “What do you think that means?”
“Another girl?” he guessed.
“I want a boy!” Emmett called across the room to me. “I want you to name him after me.”
“Don’t be stupid!” Jacob laughed. “She’ll name her first born son after me!”
I laughed as Emmett and Jacob fought over who the baby would be called over. Scarlett watched them, laughing with delight when Emmett had Jacob in a head lock.
“Boys!” Esme scolded. “Enough!”
Emmett and Jacob stopped at once, both apologising to Esme. It was weird how easy Jacob had fitted in with my vampire family. They had all accepted him, Rosalie with some reluctance, and he had accepted them. It was nice.
“Kay,” he said, leaning over the back of the sofa to talk to me. “Got any food?”
“In the kitchen,” I said. “Bring it in for me please and put it on those tables.”
“Sure thing.”
As he walked out of the room, my daughter bounced up onto the sofa next to me. She stood up and started to jump up and down.
“Scarlett, don’t jump on the sofa.”
“Why?” she asked.
“You might fall and hurt yourself,” I said, taking her hands. “Stop.”
She jumped twice more and stopped when I gave her my best mum stare. She stared back at me, a little too intensely for my liking. As I looked into her bright green eyes, I thought I saw something flash behind them. But before I could think what it was, she had turned away and Rosalie had picked her up.
I was going to mention it to Edward but I realised I might sound a little paranoid. It could have been a trick of the light, it could have been my eyes playing a trick on me. I had nothing to worry about.
Jacob brought the food in and as soon as it was on the table he tucked in. Alice walked over and pulled him away from the food.
“What are you doing?” he looked shocked.
“We’re going to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Scarlett,” she said, forcing him to the floor. “Esme, get the cake.”
Everyone else gathered around the sofa. Rosalie handed an excited Scarlett to Edward. She sat in his lap, a grin on her face.
“Happy Birthday to you!” Everyone sang as Esme entered with the cake. “Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday, dear Scarlett! Happy Birthday to you!”
Esme knelt in front of Scarlett.
“Blow out the candle, sweetie,” she said.
Scarlett nodded and puffed up her little cheeks. As she blew out the single candle everyone shouted ‘Hoorah!”.
Scarlett clapped her hands along with everyone else. Esme stood and placed the cake on the table along with the other food. Jacob was already up and at the food before Esme had walked away from the table.
“Who’s going to eat all this food, Kayla?” Esme asked me.
“I don’t have a clue,” I replied. “Maybe Sam and Emily could come around and help themselves. I don’t see me eating all of it.”
“I’m taking care of it,” Jacob said through a mouthful of food.
“Just call them,” I said. “The more the merrier.”
Grumbling, Jacob pulled out his cell and dialled Sam’s number.
“This is going great, isn’t it?” Edward said, kissing my cheek.
“Absolutely,” I said, looking around the room. “It couldn’t get any better.”
He smiled his crooked smile and I laughed. Scarlett slid off Edward’s lap and ran into Alice’s open arms. I placed my head on Edward’s shoulder a felt another kick from the baby.
“I think the baby agrees,” I laughed.
In this single moment I couldn’t be happier. I had Edward, my beautiful daughter, another baby on the way and was surrounded by the best family anyone could ask for. Nothing could ruin it for me. My life was taking a turn for the better this time and I wasn’t gonna stop it.
I prayed it would stay this way.

Hey, Guys! Okay, so as the title says this is the last chapter for Kayla's Visions.
So, if you guys would like it, I will continue to write Kayla. What I'm planning to write next, I'm not too sure about it. Personally, I love/hate the idea that's already formed and got me writing in my spare moments. I'd love to share it with you but it would spoil the surprise for you. So leave comments below telling me if you think I should continue writing. And I promise promise promise to post more often. Pinky Swear!

Kristen Stewart is set to get pregnant. Kind of. Sort of. On screen, at least.
In Breaking Dawn, the actress will don a prosthetic belly and be involved in an intense birth scene, as she welcomes daughter Renesmee into the world.
“I’m incredibly pregnant in the first movie,” Stewart told The Los Angeles Times, adding of the prosthetic: “I’ve worn it.. It gets immense. It gets so massive at some point that it actually looks inhuman. Like it’s hurting her. There are striations of bruises.”
Last year, a ridiculous rumor said that Stewart herself was with child. Might this soon be the case? It doesn't sound that way.
"My best friend just had a baby. She's my age," said the 20-year old. "So I'm a godmom now, which is.... crazy... It's actually making me realize more that I have absolutely no idea. Like, I see that going on, and I'm like, 'Oh, my God.'"
That's the same reaction many girls have when they look at Kristen's boyfriend.
