Kayla’s POV


Life was to carry on as normal. That meant I would have to go to school and take my exams. I knew I was safe because Edward was with me and Charlie said Mitchell would be constantly on look out. Plus the wolves were helping too. So I shouldn’t be so jittery, right? But I was. Every noise scared me and any slight movement had me cowering into Edward’s protective embrace. Edward found this all amusing. Glad I made someone laugh.
The weekend I just had seemed to drag on for weeks and weeks. It felt longer than just two days. So the following week dragged on for what felt like months...

Perhaps if I had not so tightly clutched the rose, its thorns would not have pierced my flesh so deeply.

The creeping vines finally reached the branch on where I sat. They touched my cheek and gently wiped my tears away. I realized there were two options left for me: Either I sit still and ignore the pain or gather enough courage and walk away. I sighed. I could not do either one.

“I’ll be okay.” I whispered softly in the dark. I hoped that could be true.

I looked around me. Every tree’s leaves droop. Every single flower bowed on the ground. My sorrow permeates the stillness of...

It seems like I just wrote a chapter in this...but I guess it was a couple of days ago. Here we go, enjoy!

I was alive, more than the past few months. I was able to sleep and more important i was willing to face the world. And why? All happened two days ago, when i had only one wish: To forget. But instead of that, my pain got washed away by a human girl. I didnt know her name, and i wasnt sure if i ever got a chance ot find out.- but she was...

I huffed in exhaustion and effort. I tried to be far away from her as possible but of course, Leah was faster than anyone or anything. I often wondered before if she could beat Edward.

I realized Leah would pursue me all the way to Canada. She would follow me to annoy me further. So, I turned around, faced her and growled at her – every sharp teeth bared, paws apart and ready, tail straight.

I don’t want to fight with you, Jacob. So, calm down.

The grey wolf stopped a few meters away in case….

I shook my head. I must be insane now.

“Hanging out is different from dating.” I insisted on Jenny as she pointed out the amount of time I spent with Vincent.

Over the past months, we have become almost inseparable. We ate lunch and dinner together, studied together, listened to music together, watched movies together – he even braved a chick flick once. I was engrossed and amused with his tortured reactions more than the movie itself.

I tried to include Jenny as much as possible. I don’t want her to think that I’m ditching her because of Vincent. I also wanted to cheer her up since Paul has finally broken up with her....

“Vincent Salvatori asked about you.” Jenny said as I joined her for lunch today.

“Who?”

“The recluse. He introduced himself to me during class.” I decided to ditch class this morning. I don’t want to spend an hour and a half beside arrogant Vincent Salvatori.

“I told him you overslept.” Her eyes narrowed as she took in my bloodshot puffy eyes. “Care to explain to me what last night’s sobbing was about.”
