Aro looked me up and down. A wicked smile taking over his dark expression. “ hello young friend how can i help you?” he muttered pleasantly. Rising up from the gold guild chair at the end of the room. Caius and Marcus sat silently- scrutinising me. Their minds concentrating mainly on my eye colour. I said nothing to Aro as he approached me. “ you are part of Carlisle’s coven? Correct?” he asked- him also observing my eyes closely. A responded with one stern nod. My body and mind not allowing me to respond in any other way. My mind was hardly there- nothing in my body functioning- my lungs, my heart – all my internal organs completely removed – now i was hollow- but not just hollow- it was as if acid had taken its place- every part of me ached and burned.
“so what is it that you enquire from us on this day? What is your name?” i looked up at his face, His skin chalky and translucent. “Edward” The words made a gusting sound from my lips, the three minds in the room took in my tortured expression, the emptiness of my voice- the dead look in my eyes. Aro looked at his brothers for a second, then the floor- then he turned his vile red eyes in my direction. “ has Carlisle told you about my gift?” he asked in a fake sense of politeness- his mind bent around a way to kill me as quickly as possible if i pose a threat. I nodded again- and held my hand out in front of my torso. He nodded a slight smile crossing his face, his brittle skin touched mine- watching my everythought that had ever crossed my mind.
My gift allowed me to view them also- the ancient perception of my mothers face, my first memory of carlilse- Aro’s mind enjoying the bitter memory of my vigilante days, the crimson in my eyes. The memorys of alice’s gift came then- Which i regretted instantly- Aro dwelled upon her, he was viewing her as an acquisition. Then popped up bella. Reliving everything through his mind was probably the most excrutiating thing i could have ever imagined. Him now experiencing the feeling of her in my arms in the meadow,the first time i caught her scent in biology, the warmth and taste of her lips the first time i kissed her, the pain of seeing her mangled and broken after james’s attempt at murdering her. It was nothing close to the pain i was feeling at living back these memories. He looked at me wearily as i felt my knees buckle.
I would never experience any of these things again. Never see her blush, stroke the beautifull delicate skin across her cheekbones. Never hold her in my arms- and feel her soft breathing against my chest i would never get to save her life. I drowned in the pain- my bella, my poor bella. Aro let go of my hand. Already knowing what i wanted he walked over to his brothers but was back in front of me within seconds.
“ so what is it that you desire Edward?” he asked. His voice almost stabbing me. I lifted my head up – knowing my face would already portray exactly what it was i wanted “i want” i said not sure if i would be able to finish “to die” i said. My fists clenching as i read his mind. “ and why is that?” he said. “i have lost something. That it is not possible to live without” i said the words burning like acid as they flew from my mouth.
He nodded and started to circle me. Like a vulture- feeding from the misery and pain that circled through my body. “ a human girl”he said. And i nodded once. His thoughts pondering around why i could possibly be drawn to her. I glared at him. A growl escaping my lips he put too hands in front of himself palms facing towards me “ apologies. Im afraid im not good at controlling my thoughts my young friend. I should probably have seen in coming. Carlilse’s opinion of humans always baffled me”. He laughed slightly. My fists clenched tightly “ i should have known eventually one of his coven would end up falling in love with one of them. Still its still very much a suprise “ he said.
As if he was discussing reading a good book. He walked up to me and put his hand on my shoulder standing in front of me- it took all the streghnth in my body not to shrug it off. “ please wait through there Edward whilst i ponder your request with my brothers. I nodded and walked away. Knowing the next few minutes would be pure torture. Praying that they would say yes

Stewart had some apprehensions about shooting that scene. She didn't want the scenario of two teens, one being a vampire who happens to be many years older than his facade of 17, deciding to marry one another to look silly or unbelievable.
"Well, to decide you're gonna marry someone at 18 is a pretty hefty decision," she told MTV News from the red carpet of the premiere of her new movie, "The Yellow Handkerchief." "And I didn't want to look stupid. I didn't want it to look like kids getting married. You know what I mean?"
Stewart said she had to find an emotional space that allowed her to make a teenage engagement seem plausible. "I wanted to be, like, 'Oh! Wow! I would say yes too!' You know what I mean? So I don't know how you do that. You try to do it for real, and it felt good. I hope it turned out alright."
