Carlisle's P.O.V.
Emmett growled. He seemed to be doing that quite a massive amount of time these days. It all started when Edward went away to Vancouver. Or, at least, that's where we though he had gone. You see, the only way he would be able to go to Italy alone, to confront Jane, was to tell the rest of us he was heading somewhere completely different. His reasons for leaving to go to the Volturi were not intentional. Jane was hazing him, willing him near her if you like. Edward wasn't at all wary of his decisions, as he wasn't the one making them. That was when we got the call from Aro..
"Hello? Cullen's." Emmett answered the phone sharply. Aro's unexpected voice answered back, "Hello Emmett, a pleasure as always. I was hoping to maybe speak to Carlisle." As I headed toward the phone, Emmett hovered, not wanting to hand me the phone. He squinted, but I took the phone anyway. "Aro? I thought it was you." I answered, "What is it you need?"
"Ah, Carlisle. Now it isn't that I need something, but Edward, on the other hand, may need to speak to you." I sighed. Edward. Of course. "Now, don't be alarmed when you hear this, as Edward was provoked by Jane. It wasn't all his decision?" Aro said. "WHAT wasn't?" I pondered. Hoping he wasn't about to say the words I was dreading. The thing I had never thought Edward would decide to do- Aro cut me off. "Edward.. has chosen to join us. The Volturi. If you would only hear him out first, he would like your opinion." NO. I would tell him. That was my opinion.
"Carlisle just listen to me, please." Edward pleaded. He had crossed a line. He was willing to join the Volturi, and only because this was his chance to change his ways. I couldn't understand. I though he hated Volturi.. "But you HATE the Volturi Edward. Don't you?" This was all I could come up with. "Carlisle. I Just- . I did. I don't know. I just changed my mind I guess."
"Oh, Edward, why? No. You're not doing this!" I was putting my foot down. Unlike that was going to change his mind. Emmett growled in the background, he was stood straight, like he was ready to pounce. Rosalie held him back. But Edward could see he wasn't just hurting myself and Esme. He was hurting his brother also. Emmett cared a great deal about Edward, and didn't want to see him hurting.
I sighed. The Volturi aren't bad people. So why should I be angry? I went away with them myself in my younger days. It wasn't so bad. Maybe I just didn't want that life for my sort of son. That was when Emmett pounced. He threw himself at Edward. "NO!" Rose yelled, worried. Edward tried to get up, but Emmett only held him tighter. "Until you see sense Edward, you're not moving. I don't have anything better to do. So I could stay here forever..." Emmett warned. "Emmett PLEASE!" Rosalie yelled. "What if you-" She hesitated. She couldn't get the words out. "YOU THINK HE COULD HURT ME?" Emmett spat, "IF YOU EVEN THOUGHT FOR ONE SECOND THAT HE WOULD DARE TOUCH ME, THEN YOU'RE WRONG. HE IS TO SMART FOR THAT." Rosalie shook her head. That wasn't what she had ment.

This scene is very revealing because we can see the bracelet that Jacob gave Bella plus the bite mark left by James and finally the ring, too.
Remember that this ring is very special because it belonged to Elizabeth Masen, the biological mother of Edward, so it has a lot of sentimental value.
The ring is gorgeous, with tons of diamonds. It shows the true love that Edward has for Bella, and that he wants to spend eternity with her.
Of course, the ring scene in the book and movie is one of the most romantic and emotional of the Twilight series.

At first the list included Gus Van Sant, Sofia Coppola, and Bill Condon discovered by Hollywood insider Nikkie Finke who writes for Deadline Hollywood. Then the name Stephen Daldry surfaced discovered by the LA Times. Right after that MTV (there seems to be a pattern here, you’ll see in a minute) asked The Runaways director, Floria Sigismondi, if she were interested and she gave a polite and non-committal answer.
Now enter M. Night Shyamalan, director of the upcoming The Last Airbender that stars Jackson Rathbone. MTV put the question to him, and to our surprise M. Knight (can we call him just Knight?) was a apparently fan of the first movie…who knew?
“”I would’ve loved to be– I love the series, and Catherine [Hardwicke's] movie, it was one of my favorite movies of that year,” he said. “Really, I thought tonally, it was a perfect movie. I called her up after I saw ‘Twilight’ and was like ‘That was amazing.’ So I’m a big fan.”

10 Ways to Annoy Carlisle Cullen
10. Tell him only to address you in a cute English accent.
9. Call him Carlisle, but be sure to pronounce the “s”. When he corrects you, give him a weird look and tell him the “q” is silent.
8. Ask if blondes really do have more fun.
7. Inquire as to what he actually does on his night shift on the hospital, with all the pretty nurses in the ER.
6. Instead of telling him to “get lost” in an argument, tell him to swim to France.
5. When he annoys you, respond with “times have changed, old man”.
4. Ask what type of superhuman power compassion is – what does he do in a fight? Love thy enemy to death?
3. Leap out from behind the desk in his study when he isn’t expecting it and spray him with Holy Water.
2. Call him McSteamy or McDreamy.
And the Number One way to annoy Carlisle Cullen?
1. Run around the Emergency Room screaming “I’ve been bitten! I’ve been bitten!”
