TWILIGHT - chapter 15 - THE CULLENS

"So what was Carlisle telling you before?"
His eyebrows pulled together. "You noticed that, did you?"
I shrugged. "Of course."
He looked at me thoughtfully for a few seconds before answering. "He wanted to tell me some news - he didn't know if it was something I would share with you."
"Will you?"
"I have to, because I'm going to be a little... overbearingly protective over the next few days - or weeks - and I wouldn't want you to think I'm naturally a tyrant."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong, exactly. Alice just sees some visitors coming soon. They know we're here, and they're curious."
"Visitors?"
"Yes... wel, they aren't like us, of course - in their hunting habits, I mean. They probably won't come into town at all, but I'm certainly not going to let you out of my sight till they're gone."
I shivered.
"Finally, a rational response!" he murmured. "I was beginning to think you had no sense of self-preservation at all."
I let that one pass, looking away, my eyes wandering again around the spacious room.
He followed my gaze. "Not what you expected, is it?" he asked, his voice smug.
"No," I admitted.
"No coffins, no piled skulls in the corner; I don't even think we have cobwebs... what a disappointment this must be for you," he continued slyly.
I ignored his teasing. "It's so light... so open."
He was more serious when he answered. "It's the one place we never have to hide."
The song he was still playing, my song, drifted to an end, the final chords shifting to a more melancholy key. The last note hovered poignantly in the silence.
"Thank you," I murmured. I realized there were tears in my eyes. I dabbed them, embarrassed.
He touched he corner of my eye, tapping one I missed. He lifted his finger, examining the drop of moisture broodingly. Then, so quickly I couldn't be positive that he really did, he put his finger to his mouth to taste it.
I looked at his questioningly, and he gazed back for a long moment before he finally smiled.
"Do you want to see the rest of the house?"
"No coffins?" I verified, the sarcasm in my voice not entirely masking the slight but genuine anxiety I felt.
He laughed, taking my hand, leading me away from the piano.
"No coffins," he promised.
We walked up the massive staircase, my hand trailing along the satin-smooth rail. The long hall at the top of the stairs was paneled with a honey-colored wood, the same as the florboards.
"Rosalie and Emmett's room... Carlisle's office... Alice's room..." He gestured as he led me past the doors.
He would have continued, but I stopped dead at the end of the hall, staring incredulously at the ornament hanging on the wall above my head. Edward chuckled at my bewildered expression.
"You can laugh," he said. "It is sort of ironic."
I didn't laught. My hand raised automatically, one finger extended as if to touch the large wooden cross, it's dark patina contrasting with the lighter tone of the wall. I didn't touch it, though I was curious if the aged wood would feel as silky as it looked.
"It must be very old," I guessed.
He shrugged. "Early sixteen-thirties, more or less."
I looked away from the cross to stare at him.
"Why do you keep this here?" I wondered.
"Nostalgia. It belonged to Carlisle's father."
"He collected antiques?" I suggested doubtfully.
"No. He carved this himself. It hung on the wall above the pulpit in the vicarage where he preached."
I wasn't sure if my face betrayed my shock, but I returned to gazing at the simple, ancient cross, just in case. I quickly did the mental math; the cross was over three hundred and seventy years old. The silence stretched on as I struggled to wrap my mind around the concept of so many years.
"Are you all right?" He sounded worried.
"How old is Carlisle?" I asked quietly, ignoring his question, still staring up.
"He just celebrated his three hundred and sixy-second birthday," Edward said. I looked back at him, a million questions in my eyes.
He watched me carefully as he spoke.
"Carlisle was born in London, in the sixteen-forties, he belives. Time wasn't marked as accurately then, for the common people anyway. It was just before Cromwell's rule, though."
I kept my face composed, aware of his scrutiny as I listened. It was easier if I didn't try to believe.
"He was the only son of an Anglican pastor. His mother died giving birth to him. His father was an intolerant man. As the Protestants came into power, he was enthusiastic in his presecution of Roman Catholics and other religions. He also believed very strongly on the reality of evil. He led hunts for witches, werewolves... and vampires." I grew very still at the word. I'm sure he noticed, but he went on without pausing.
"The burned a lot of innocent people - or course the real creatures that he sought were not so easy to catch.
"When the pastor grew old, he placed his obedient son in charge of the raids. At first Carlisle was a diappointment; he was not quick to accuse, to see demons where they did not exists. But he was persistent, and more clever than his father. He actually discovered a coven of true vampires that lived hidden in the sewers of the city, only coming out by night to hunt. In those days, that was the way many lived.
"The people gathered their pitchforks and torches, of course" - his brief laugh was darker now - "and waited where Carlisle had seen the monsters exit into the street. Eventually one emerged."
His voice was very quiet; I strained to catch the words.
"He must have been ancient, and weak with hunger. Carlisle heard him call out in Latin to the others when he caught the scent of the mob. He ran through the streets, and Carlisle - he was twenty-three and very fast - was in the lead of the pursuit. The creature could have easily outrun them, but Carlisle thinks he was too hungry, so he turned and attacked. He fell on Carlisle first, but the others were close behind, and he turned to defend himself. He killed two men, and made off with a third, leaving Carlisle bleeding in the street."
He paused. I could sense he was editing something, keeping something from me.
"Carlisle knew what his father would do. The bodies would be burned - anything infected by the monster must be destroyed. Carlisle acted instictively to save his own life. He crawled away from the alley while the mob followed the fiend and his victim. He his in a cellar, buried himself in rotting potatoes for three days. It was a miracle he was able to keep silent, to stay undiscovered.
"It was over then, and he realized what he had become."
I'm not sure what my face was revealing, but he suddenly broke off.
"How are you feeling?" he asked.
"I'm fine," I assured him. And, though I bit my lip in hesitation, he must have seen the curiosity burning in my eyes.
He smiled. "I expect you have a few more questions for me."
"A few."
His smile widened over his brilliant teeth. He started back down the hall, pulling me along by the hand. "Come on, then," he encouraged. "I'll show you."

Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse are already in the works, but what about Breaking Dawn? Unlike the first three books, this one may pose a problem. In this book (spoiler!) Bella goes through a transformation that makes her inhumanly beautiful like the rest of the Cullens and she has a beautiful girl that grows at an alarmingly fast rate. The question is, can they really film these things? In my opinion, Kristen Stewart is just as pretty as Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed. Not only that, when she is standing next to Robert Pattinson you do not notice a huge difference between the two like in the books. Another problem would be Renesmee. How are they going to cast a girl that grows that fast without using any type of animation or graphics? Well this is just an opinion from a concerned twilighter and i hope that others feel the same way.

Felt like I've been howling for - forever (?).
It seems like it's all I did these past few months.Geez...MONTHS!

Howling in grief, in desperation. Does she care? I don't think so. She's happy - happy beyond the borders of sanity, I realized bitterly.

I pushed forwrd with all my might, as fast as these four legs can. The bloodsucker drove even faster, I thought disdainfully.I howled once more.

I could hardly see their vehicle - the vehicle that would bring her to her doom - a doom she happily embraced.

I will kill you! I swear I will! I vowed.
I wished with all my heart the bloodsucker could still...

sorry its so short! doing a change in my writin. instead of skippin a whole chunk of the story im startin off exactly where I stopped! yea me!

I used the first spell that came into my mind, the one I use to freeze someone, no matter where they are. It worked perfectly, and he was frozen in mid-jump, with his mouth open revealing very sharp looking teeth.

When I was done I breifly remembered giving a charm to Bella that would protect her from any harm or evil, but that wasn't what was filling my mind. What was filling it was WHAT THE HELL IS ALEX DOING HERE?! and in the Cullens living room, about...

As you will have noticed I love cliffhangers. I love to write them but I felt slightly mean after giving you like three in a row. So here, I have posted this on early. It wasn't supposed to go on til later but as I said I felt mean. So here it is.

Emmett was obviously taller than me. Edward would never have hurt me. He had calculated his attack well. He would soar over me and get Emmett in the face. But not if I got Edward first. As soon as Edward’s feet left the floor I was up in the air. We met mid-air crashing into each other. I put all my strength and force (and possibly used some telekinesis)...

Hey guys.
This is a short piece that I wrote for the contest, but apparently it's not going to be happening, so I decided to post it anyways.

I'm sure I could have expanded it, but I was trying to stay in the 1500 word limit, and I think I like it better this way.

“Are your eyes closed” He whispered from behind, sending shivers down my neck.

“Yes!” I grumbled, my hands on top of his, which were covering my eyes.

“Promise” He whispered again

“I promise!” I laughed , my body tingling from the contact.

He dropped his hands and I felt him move from behind to face me, I'm assuming to make...

here's the story, its a lil like Breaking Dawn but watevr!

I was in the Cullen's living room again with Bella. After I told Sam a huge fight happened and now the pack was split in two, and Jacob had his own pack with Leah, Seth, Embry and Quil in it. Since I was Seth's imprint and had no problem what so ever with the Cullens I was now staying there and was to protect Bella while Jacob's pack circulated the area, and Sam's pack was protecting their home on the Quiluete rez.

" So, Nizhoni...you never did tell me how you beat Edward in a match when you're human." Bella said with a questioning look...

I didn't make you guys wait too long, did I? If I did I am truly sorry. Here we go then, Chapter 20. Will this series ever end?

The first chance I got I visited Charlie. I got a shock when I visited Charlie. Jacob and Billy were there, Jacob sitting on the hospital chair and Billy in his wheelchair. The biggest shock was that Charlie was sitting up, laughing and joking. This man had just had a fit yesterday and here he was telling dirty jokes to his best friend and his son. Jacob was the first to see me standing in the doorway and watching them with wide eyes.
“Hey Kayla,” he greeted me with...

Ch 3

All I remember was that I couldn't breathe and I blacked out.

Then, I had a nightmare. I was in the meadow. Edward and I. We were intwined. He was kissing my neck and I was panting. Then, he just disappeared. He was just gone. Nowhere to be found. I was crying. I couldn't breathe, again. I didn't know what was happening. I couldn't see. Everything was a blur. Then, Victoria appeared. She was running at me. Then, I screamed.

I had woken up to find Charlie sitting next to me, shaking me furiously, trying to wake me up.

"Are you okay? What's the mateur? Where is he? You tell me where he...

"Sometimes love isn't enough"

Those were the last words I ever heard Jacob Black say. At first, I didn’t care. For three years I didn’t care. I was too dark and thirsty to care about any of my past. I almost forgot some of it. I almost forgot him.

It’s been ten years and those fears of mine came true. The Volturi wanted me to join them and I refused. But they didn’t play nice. No, they didn’t, not at all. Instead of letting me walk away, sorry that I had refused their offer, they gave me an ultimatum. Either I joined them or the Cullen’s died. This time, they didn’t find a way out....

Hasn't anyone else really noticed that Twilight may be going a little overboard? It just seems that with all the attention and merchandise and whatnot, it's becoming more like another High School Musical movie.
Not Good.
Now that New Moon is coming, all these actors and musicians want to part of all the hype.
I just wish that Twilight stayed it's small Indie film. That's what I loved most about it was that they got a lot of actors that hardly anyone knew.
I knew who Cam, Edi, Rob, Kristen, Taylor, Billy Burk, Kellen, Nikki were before Twilight.
But what about you guys?
There's a ton of people...

Sorry guys, school, and a bunch of othr pitiful excuses u dont wanna hear so here is the story!

I was sitting around with the Carlisle, Alice, Esme, Peter and Charlotte in the living room. They had all told me of the Volturi and what they do, and I told them all about me and my special abilities. Oh yea, Edward had rushed Bella back to her house the minute he heard Peter and Charlotte's thoughts, knowing that they weren't like him and his family. Apparently he had taken her back to her house to her father, where no doubt Charlie had gone berserk.

" Carlisle? If you don't mind I think I should...

Enjoy!!

I ran home. I didn’t want to delay this anymore. I was already thinking of turning back and running into Edward’s waiting arms but I knew I had to do this. I had to show Charlie that I wasn’t taking any of his crap. If I had to leave then I would. I got a shock when I saw his cruiser parked at the house. I was hoping I could pack my case and write a note saying I was leaving. I didn’t really want to do it when he was there. I opened the door as quietly as I could and sneaked inside. I shut the door slowly and carefully so it didn’t creak and tip-toed across to the stairs. I...

This is short but I just wanted to get through it quickly. I didn't want to write it but it had to happen.

My brilliant plan that sounded absolutely brilliant wasn’t so amazing when I sat and thought about it. It seemed quite simple when I first thought of it. What was the only way Charlie would have no control over me? The answer was my mother. My plan was to go back to England, where my mother was, and Charlie could no longer have a say in what I did. Edward would follow me and he could bring his whole family to London if he wanted to. But the more I thought about it, the more I knew it...

End of Chapter 2

“Bella.” Edward said, nudging me.

“Wha?!” I jumped, immediately closing my eyes again. “What time is it?” I asked, referring to the bright sun that managed to find its way through the tinted windows.

“Around 10:30” He said, as he turned off the highway, down a bumpy dirt road, causing me to jump in my seat.

“This...looks...romantic..” I laughed to myself, looking out the window at the thousands of trees surrounding us.

“Well we're not there yet” He laughed to himself, taking my hand in his. “It's sorta...out of the way. I figured privacy would be important,...

As you know I said I did two other versions of Chapter 10. Foreveryours asked if I could post them on and I thought 'Why not?' so here it is. You will see some similaraties between them and Chapter 10 but you know I kinda merged them together to make Chapter 10. These versions will not be accounted for in the continuation of the Kayla series. They are posted on here entirely for your interest as to how things could have turned out. They both start out the same way as Chapter 10. So here it goes!

[Note: I didn't call Edward 'The Lion' until the final Chapter 10. In the vampire version he is...

I had managed to make it through a whole month of school without anything unusual happening. The murders had seemed to stop. No one in or around Forks had been killed so maybe the newborn had learned not to kill so often or someone had dealt with it. I felt kind of disappointed that I hadn’t been able to go after it and teach it a thing or two. I think it would be quite fun battling a newborn but since it decided to stop I guess I’ll just have to wait. Edward and I continued to have our silent conversations. It was weird, him being inside...

CHAPTER 11

Edward’s POV

I don’t know why I ran, but I did. And now that I think about it, it was one of the stupidest things I did.
I was nearly half way home when I heard someone following me, so I went even faster.
“Edward, I love you” She screamed. I stopped abruptly. Then I thought about it.
“Bella?” I said in my head, confused.
“I love you” I felt the force that she put into it. She was struggling more than me.
I ran back and stopped about a hundred ft away from...

I looked at Dr Cullen, worried I had put him a difficult situation. I wanted to explain to him that he didn’t need to leave, that I wasn’t going to blab to the whole town about what he and his family were. But how could I tell him?
I looked down at the dead man on the floor. I knew that this wasn’t an animal attack. The Azdi part of me was telling me this, showing me the difference between an animal attack and a vampire attack. I also knew that this was no ordinary vampire attack. It was too messy.
“Dad, I’m going outside.”...
