Twilight Series Article: Learn to THINK, Pattinson fans

Some of the fans of the Twilight movie (I say movie for a good reason - these girls don't seem have to read the books) are honestly ANNOYING. I read about what they do at Comic-Con on MTV and I hear their STUPID questions on different sites.

"Boxers or briefs?"... Seriously, learn to think. There are better questions than that. Then the girl that went up just to say, "I just wanted a way to talk to you Robert." She is probably the most annoying fan to Robert right now.

Have they read the books? Can't they think of questions that are thought through and pertain to the books and how the cast is using the books to bring Edward's and Bella's world to life?

Robert Pattinson wasn't very well-known of until Harry Potter. He had a few fans then, and now he has many more fans. I worked for a Harry Potter website before the fourth movie hit the screens. I remember us trying so hard to find out information on this guy who had only starred in a few movies and who only had a few pictures up on the web.

Leave the poor boy alone. He's cocky enough with his statement, "I just wanted to play a super-hot vampire."

Poor Stephenie Meyer is having to suffer as fans rip her books apart and only care about some boy that plays the romantic character. I really don't want the movies to ruin my vision of Twilight like what the Harry Potter movies have ruined my vision of the Harry Potter books. I think my imagination had a better Edward than what Robert Pattinson is going to give.

Pity to those that only become fans of the books because of the movie.

eka-chan Never been a fan of the book, no offense, this isn't my type of literature. It's too generic. But the BELWARD love has drawn me and that is the only good point to give Meyer (she portrayed the 'sexual tension' in a very delectable way.) Other than that, her repetitive choice of adjectives and imagery, drag-on phrases and the simplicity of the plot itself are something I always criticize about her series. But generally, it's a good series for young adults. I finished Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse and as much as the writer's flaws are apparent, the romance between Edward and Bella is likable and sustained. So I can appreciate the series somehow. Now as for RP, I'm not entirely a fan since he didn't appear in any other movies expect the upcoming Twilight and Harry Potter 4 but...as far as I'm concerned, it's normal for fans to go this bat-sh** crazy with an actor as handsome as he is, putting aside if he is talented at what he does. I can agree with the HP movies ruining the HP books. But in my honest opinion, with all due respect to yours, I might just want to see how the movie version of Twilight can pull it off since, as I've said, "Twilight" book is not completely enjoyable; there are some parts there that I think were conceived too flatly but mainly because Meyer's style is lacking some element that might be the reason this is only a young adult fiction. That's my opinion, of course. This isn't my kind of literature. Just want to share my thoughts...

latterdayfrodo I appreciate any opinions. I must say that there will always be an "opposition in all things." There will always be someone that thinks opposite of somebody else. Can you think of what Meyer is lacking? I think she does very well for a new writer. 'The Host' definately proves that. She can write about other worlds (I don't mean planet worlds, I mean writer's worlds) than the one that she has created. Rowling seems to have only been able to create the Potter world. I'll be interested to see her bust out of that. Maybe Meyer is another "Stephen King" in some ways (not all ways, please). Yes, we'll have to see when the movie comes out. The trailers still seem to make the movie look like it will be good. I think they should have waited longer to show us all so much of the movie, though. Harry Potter 6 comes out 2 weeks before and I haven't seen much of that yet.

vampiressparkle I knew this was going to happen -_- These books have been my life for the last 3 years. And up until this spring when the Twi-Movie Mania hit, the fandom was a nice, safe, fangirl-free group where all the Twilighters could convene with each other and make friends. And while I appreciate the people who come to the books with genuine curiosity after the movie, we are also picking up a lot of VERY annoying fangirls. Mostly members of the "I Want Rob Pattinson's Babies" fan club. Now I love Rob. I do. I am worried that, like Harry Potter, they will complete massacre Twilight. But I have watched any and all of his movies I could track down (Thank you Netflicks) and I am confident that he will prove me wrong and be an awesome Edward. And that his chemistry with Kristin will pretty much sell the movie. But you're right. The RPattz craze needs to die out and move on before they ruin things for everyone. Not just us, but Mrs. Meyer as well. In complete and total honesty, I would rather meet Stephenie than Rob any day.

tigerlover656 yes i admit i am a fan of "spunk ransom" but im not crazy about him. i dont even think that he is that hot. i just enjoy his laughter.:)

mandapanda well, im not one of those crazy fan girls who thinks Rob is hot. i admit, i didnt find him too appealing at first. but, he proved to me what ive seen him do so far in the role of edward... he IS edward. he takes Edward's essence and character beyond my expectations. He is doing a magnificant job! i truly believe that the movie will be good. the EW.com interview of stephanie meyer may put your minds at ease when she said stuff about Robert. Just look it up on youtube... maybe her opinion will change your minds...

latterdayfrodo Yeah, I'm glad that Meyer likes him. I just hope that she wasn't just saying that. Don't prove Meyer wrong, Robert! You have a lot to live up to!

mandapanda yes.. i agree. he has ALOT to live up to! haha. but i think he is doing a great job all things considered. he takes the role to extreme limits... and he has surpassed my expectations! Cant wait for DEcember 12th! 138 more days!

fanpire101 i agree that while all the fans mean that the movie will do well, it seems to do well for the wrong reasons. the fact that RP is playing edward should not make it an awesome movie, it should be good simply because its twilight and it is representing the BOOK! im obsessed with the books, wen i found out about the movie i was excided and i think rob will do a pretty good job, but one thing really needs to be said: crazyfan girls, calm down and get a life, no matter how loud you scream, you will NEVER get RP as yours, and plz try to appriciate the movie for what it represents (the book) rather than the actors in it

nikki_cullen-s2 well i just watched the comic con twilight panel and i have to tell u it was pretty stupid all the fans were soo annoying i mean u couldnt even hear wut the actors were saying and i saw one video on youtube and a girl recording the panel was saying "shut up i dont f***ing care about her(katherin hardwick) i want to c rob" and i just thought that was very rude and stupid and the questions they asked were horrible its like all they want it to just look at rob and talk about how hot he is and i to think hes hot but if i was there i wouldnt ask him wut kind of under wear he wears i would want to ask him of how hes taken the time to prepare himself to become edward and wut he thinks about edward and stuff about the BOOK true fans of twilight should be focused on the book! and i am a lil scared for this movie cuz ive seen harry potter and im not a fan of it but my friends are and they read all the books and say that the movie ruined the potter books and i wouldnt want twilight to get ruined cuz of the movie cuz i really like the books and b4 twilight i never really liked reading but when i read twilight i just couldnt stop reading and i was surprised twilight has changed the way i look at books and reading now :]

eka-chan SOrry for the late response, latterdayfrodo. it's difficult to go into details but reading "Twilight" well, after 120 pages, I started to skim because Meyer's style was getting on my nerves eventually. But I digested her books well with the ocassion rolling-of-the-eyes thing. A Stephen King, you say? Well, that's your opinion. I'm a SK fan since a kid and Dean Koontz can be compared to SK far better than Meyer. BUt I will keep your recommendation of "The Host" in mind.
