Why 'New Moon' Will Be Better Than 'Twilight'
by Chrissy Le Nguyen · September 14, 2009
The third full-length trailer for "New Moon" is quite the charm -- not to say that the first two weren't spectacular, but number three, which is the longest yet, definitely delivers the goods. So much so, in fact, I'll venture to say that it's concrete proof that "New Moon" will be leaps and bounds better than its predecessor, "Twilight."
The first "New Moon" trailer centered on Edward and Bella's heart-wrenching breakup, the second was all about werewolf Jacob Black, and now the third focuses on what's coming up next: more vampires, more werewolves, more romance, and more action. Even though "Twilight" grossed over $383 million worldwide, this latest trailer makes it clear that "New Moon" will have no problem beating that number and whipping fans into a fever pitch, ready to sink their teeth into the next movie,
In addition to the advanced special effects and the improved makeup (Laurent's brand-new red contacts are fierce!), here are a few highlights from the expanded trailer that prove "New Moon" will be better than "Twilight":
The Volturi clan is creepy, mysterious, and powerful. Michael Sheen's menacing Aro is seen snapping a human's neck, and the glimpses of Dakota Fanning show that she was perfectly cast as Jane, the vampire with the ability to create an illusion of pain upon her enemies. Possibly one of the best parts of the trailer is at the end when Jane coldly warns, "This may hurt just a little."
An example of director Chris Weitz's painfully beautiful CGI work is Bella's cliff dive scene. After her reckless jump, Bella is floating beneath the murky water and sees Edward hovering next to her. As an arm pulls her out of the water, she reaches out to touch Edward's upside-down image and the illusion melts away. It's visually stunning and will be one of the film's most memorable moments.
The trailer shows the vibrant and bustling streets of Italy. Besides Alice rolling in her super-sexy, super-fast yellow Porsche, we see Bella's determined run through the Italian crowd to save Edward as he begins to tear off his shirt (abs alert!!!) to expose himself to the sunlight. Bella's line from the novel, "No, Edward, don't!" pretty much seals the deal.
After Edward leaves Bella in the "New Moon" novel, Stephenie Meyer expertly shows the unbearable ache Bella goes through with several blank pages. We get a sneak peek of how this pain is handled in the film with Bella writhing in bed, screaming in agony. From book pages to the big-screen, the hurt is still there and you'll be collecting broken pieces of your heart off the sticky movie theater floor, no doubt.
Edward has a throw-down with some of the Volturi members that's quite believable. The fight will most likely take home the Best Fight award at the MTV Movie Awards next year just like "Twilight" did previously, but this action-packed fight looks a lot more deserving. Sorry, Cam!
"New Moon" hits theaters on November 20, so this trailer should hold over Twilighters until then (or at least for a week or two!). Now that you're done screaming and squealing, oohing and ahhing, tell us what you thought of the trailer. How does it compare to the other trailers? And will "New Moon" be better than "Twilight"?

You know Robert's song, Never Think, is on the Twilight soundtrack, right? Well my dad overheard me listening to the song and said he has NO TALENT.
I don't geddit. He says the bands I listen to have no talent. I say Robert has tons of talent, but some people just don't SEE it. I think he's great for the role of Edward, and his voice is awesome, but I guess it's the way he sang for the recording.
Anyways, I want to let all of you know is that my dad will never change his tastes. I hate that. He'll keep bothering me because I'd ended my Jonas Brothers' Stage. He'll bother me because my sister listens to Hannah Montana/ Miley Cyrus. Why does he bother me further when I stay in the Twilight Stage?!!! I saw how big this fanspot is, and whoa, if my dad saw this, he'd lay off.
*Giggle*
I love Twilight, and hopefully, that'll NEVER change. Oops, baby brother on the prowl.
See ya!

I confuse Sunrise with
the Twilight
A Start Ends
an ending begins
She changed my life
my dead heartbeat
my frozen heart
She made them Hers
with her sweet flying heartbeat,
her honey gaze
she makes me love Her face
and the moonlight does not compare Her
I want her Forever
not to move on
to stay here, in the
Dead Moonlight
But I Can't
the sunrise came
and we have no choice back
P.S this time i tried as hard as i could!i work it from the morning!i hope you like it!it is a bit sad but it is the best i can do!
