Chapter 1 - A Stranger
Wow. He’s gorgeous!” Lydia gasped as she spotted my Jacob walk around the corner. “And he’s walking towards us? He’s smiling at you?! Do you know him?” She asked in her high pitched voice. That’s what I love about her. She’s always happy.
“Yeah, he’s my best friend.... as well as you obviously!” I added as she began to look hurt. I had to agree with her about Jacob. He was wearing some cropped denim jeans with a tight, black, short sleeved top, showing off his muscles. (He was very proud of his muscles. Now that I think about it all the La Push pack are)
When he saw me he smiled. It was so breathtakingly beautiful, I gasped and my heart rate sped up. Jake noticed (well.... werewolves/shapeshifters do have super hearing...) and his expression turned worried as he ran towards me.
“Nessie! Are you okay?” he asked nervously. I wasn’t surprised. Everyone had been so on edge as I neared my ‘17th ‘ Birthday. However, it had only been 7 years since I had been born. Being a half human, half vampire I grew fast. My mom had me when she was still a human. In fact, I’m the reason she is a vampire now. When she was in pregnant with me I broke her spine, so the only way to save her was to change her.
Anyway, when I reach the physical age of 17, I will stop ageing all together, and I will become fully immortal. Just like the rest of my family, the Cullen’s, except they are all fully vampires. But we are different from others of our kind. To us, humans are friends, not food. We hunt animals instead. We think of ourselves as ‘Vegetarians’. This doesn’t go down well with some other covens.
“I’m fine Jake!” I sighed. “Jake, Lydia. Lydia, Jake.” Lydia batted her eyelashes and gave him a stunning smile. Lydia is beautiful. So I wouldn’t be surprised if Jake fell in love with her. With her long red curls, reaching her waist and startling emerald green eyes. She’s tall and slim with a very pale complexion. Some could mistake her for a vampire. “Hey Jake, Nessie’s told me all about you!” she giggled.
“Not all I hope!” he smiled. Oh my god! Could she be any more obvious? I thought as she lightly punched his arm.
“So, what are you doing here Jake?” I asked. He grinned and Lydia almost fainted. I bit my lip trying not to laugh.
“I’m talking you for something to eat, of course. It’s been ages since I’ve seen you!” he explained. By something to eat, I knew he meant hunting. We both knew the last time we saw each other was before I set off for school this morning.
He smiled again, and Lydia sighed happily. I couldn't help myself and burst out laughing. Lydia tore her gaze from Jake's face and gave me a puzzled look. I shook my head and tried to compose myself.
"So how are we going to get there? Bike or the Rabbit?" I asked whilst scanning the parking lot, looking for either of Jake's vehicles.
"Well.... You see, the motorcycle's broken and the Rabbit's got no gas. So... I got a lift from Leah..." he explained. A huge smile spread across my face.
"Leah's here?" I asked excitedly, Jake nodded his head. I looked around once more and spotted Leah outside her car. I ran over to her and gave her a huge hug.
"Oh my God!! I've missed you so much!" I screamed making her smile. The Clearwaters and my Grandpa Charlie had just come back form their vacation in France.
It was then I heard wolf howl.
Leah and Jake's heads turneed towards the forest.
"Call me, both of you..." I mumbled, while they threw me an apologetic glance and they ran towards the trees.
That's one of the worst things about having werewolves as friends. They may have to run off in the middle of whatever you are doing. Whether it's shopping or talking.
I had almost forgotten about Lydia, until she spoke.
"Listen, Ness, I gotta go... you gonna be okay here?"b she asked. I looked at her, confused. Why wouldn't I be okay? "I mean since Jake just ditched your date and everything." She explained.
"Oh no! It wasn't a date! We're just friends!" I was shocked at how hard it was to say that. Jake had bben my friend all my life. he was almost like a brother to me. But lately our relationship got akward. Maybe it was because I had gotten close to Lydia. But something told me, he was hiding something from me. Which is wierd, because neither of us keep secrets from each other.
"You okay?" A smooth voice asked. I turned around and a boy a bit older than me, in Lydia's place. He was tall (not as tall as Jacob) with short, chocolate brown hair and purply blue eyes. He's gorgeous.
"Hey..." I muttered shyly.

Slow, we paddle through the lake
Straight to the very center of the darkest water
Where we can embrace the shadows on the surface
The eyes that look up lifeless from our twins below
And though your arms and legs are under
Love will be the echo in your ears when all is lost and plundered
My love will be there still
True, it's chilling to behold
Up close we stumble backwards laughing in our boat
Till the image sinks away to someplace far but certain
A land of mere suspension where someday we must go
And though your arms and legs are under
Love will be the echo in your ears when all is lost and plundered
My love will be there still
Though your arms and legs are under
Love will be the echo in your ears when all is lost and plundered
My love will be there still
Straight to the very center of the darkest water
Where we can embrace the shadows on the surface

Dreamed last night about a time and place
Where from our troubles we had escaped
I held your hand and I felt complete
As you turned and said to me
From now on
From now on we'll be
You and me
We will be
From now on
From now on we'll be
You and me
You and me, we will be
Years went by and nothing changed
The love we shared just stayed the same
As hair grew grey on top of our heads
Every night I quietly said
From now on
From now on we'll be
You and me
We will be
From now on
From now on we'll be
You and me
You and me, we will be
Only a dream
Only a dream
Only a dream
From now on
Only a dream
From now on
Only a dream
From now on
Only a dream
From now on
You and me, we will be
Where from our troubles we had escaped
I held your hand and I felt complete
As you turned and said to me
From now on
From now on we'll be
You and me
We will be

Only a dream
Only a dream
Only a dream
From now on
Only a dream
From now on
Only a dream
From now on
Only a dream
From now on
You and me, we will be
The moon is always full for us
The road is always clear
That's not what you want to hear
One is born so one can die
You must wait a real long time
That's more than you can bear
And the days will come and go
And the band will march alone
Till the day you cast a shadow
And it's nothing like your own
Rolling in on a burning tire
You're gonna set my house on fire
Just to show me that you were there
Flowers raised up like a snake
You will raise to leave me bait
And always, always take
And the days will come and go
And the band will march alone
Till the day you cast a shadow
And it's nothing like your own
The moon is always full for us
The road is always clear
That’s not what you want to hear
That’s not what you want to hear
The road is always clear
That's not what you want to hear
One is born so one can die
You must wait a real long time
That's more than you can bear
And the days will come and go
And the band will march alone
Till the day you cast a shadow

Just to show me that you were there

And the days will come and go
And the band will march alone
Till the day you cast a shadow
And it's nothing like your own
The moon is always full for us
The road is always clear
That’s not what you want to hear
That’s not what you want to hear
It's all hats off now, all drum rolls and applause
By slight of the hand you will turn them into dust
A face to face you will lead them by the fall
A track fiend and the saw dust
You're allowed to stare it out
It’s all good luck charms
All trying to understand
Indeed inside me will always hope for worse
You say you keep them close by
They're closer than you think
A track fiend and the saw dust
You're allowed to stare it out
Next spring will bring you back again
You'll sigh and crack the whip for us
And maybe you will be the one
Who'll draw the line in the sand
For us to crawl
It's all past bats now
All painting gorgeous time
And maybe when the night comes
You'll open up the cage
You'll open up the cage
By slight of the hand you will turn them into dust
A face to face you will lead them by the fall
A track fiend and the saw dust
You're allowed to stare it out
It’s all good luck charms
All trying to understand
Indeed inside me will always hope for worse
You say you keep them close by
They're closer than you think
A track fiend and the saw dust
You're allowed to stare it out
Next spring will bring you back again
You'll sigh and crack the whip for us
And maybe you will be the one
Who'll draw the line in the sand
For us to crawl
It's all past bats now
All painting gorgeous time
And maybe when the night comes
You'll open up the cage
You'll open up the cage
I think I know what’s on your mind
A couple words, a great divide
Waiting in the wings, a small respite
Crowding up the foreground from behind
Even though you’re the only one I see
It’s the last catastrophe
Place your bets on chance and apathy
Take anything you want, it’s fine
Keep up the slow life for the night
Don’t take it back, I’ll just deny
This constant noise all the time
Even though you’re the only one I see
It’s the last catastrophe
Place your bets on chance and apathy
From the wind in front of me
Even though you’re the only one I see
It’s the last catastrophe
Place your bets on chance and apathy
From the wind in front of me
Even though you’re the only one I see
A couple words, a great divide
Waiting in the wings, a small respite
Crowding up the foreground from behind
Even though you’re the only one I see
It’s the last catastrophe

From the wind in front of me
Even though you’re the only one I see
It’s the last catastrophe
Place your bets on chance and apathy
From the wind in front of me
Even though you’re the only one I see
Should never think
What’s in your heart
What’s in our home
And so I won’t
And you’ll learn to hate me
Still call me baby
Oh, love
So call me by my name
And save your soul
Save your soul
Before you’re too far gone
Before nothing can be done
Try to decide when
She’ll lie in the end
Ain’t got no fight in me
In this whole damn world
Tell you to hold off
Choose to hold on
It’s one thing that I’ve known
Once I put my coat on
Coming out in this all wrong, ooh
She’s standing outside holding me
Saying oh please
I’m in love
I’m in love
Girl save your soul, ooh
Save your soul
Before you’re too far gone
And before nothing can be done
‘Cause without me
You got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
Hold on
Without me you got it all
Without me you got it all

Ah, ah, ah ,ah, ah
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
I seek you out
Flay you alive
One more word and you won’t survive
And I’m not scared of your stolen power
See right through you any hour
I won’t soothe your pain
I won’t ease your strain
You’ll be waiting in vain
I got nothing for you to gain
I’m taking it slow
Feeding my flame
Shuffling the cards of your game
And just in time
In the right place
Suddenly I will play my ace
I won’t soothe your pain
(Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah)
I won’t ease your strain
(Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah)
You’ll be waiting in vain
(Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah)
I got nothing for you to gain
Eyes on fire
Your spine is ablaze
Felling any foe with my gaze
And just in time
In the right place
Steadily emerging with grace
Aaaaahhhhh
Felling any foe with my gaze
Aaaaahhhhh
Steadily emerging with grace
Aaaaahhhhh
Felling any foe with my gaze
