Renesmee turns, as if sensing my thoughts, and, gathering from her own, she has.
"Dad, I am not going to cease to exist."
"I know."
"So please stop worrying." Her brow creases slightly, just as Bella's used to.

Drifting up the stairs slowly, the sound of the piano playing the particular song I had composed for Renesmee, sounded.

"Ready to go?" Bella asks Renesmee.
"Almost," she replies. "Just give me a second to stop hyperventilating."
"Great," Bella says, giving Renesmee one last hug before she hurries downstairs. Rosalie and Alice are waiting at the foot of the stairs.

Renesmee twines her arm in mine and painfully slowly, we descend the stairs.

Everyone turns to look at her, and I can personally not blame them.

Jessica, in particular, is looking poisoned daggers at Bella and Renesmee, with understandable jealousy.

'... not fair. She marries her high school boyfriend three months after she GRADUATES, ends up married for almost TWENTY years, has a daughter who outshines all my kids put TOGETHER, looks beautiful and I'M stuck DIVORCED and OLD. I HATE HER...' Jessica thinks. Futiley jealous human. It's so hilarious it becomes deeply unamusing.
