Ok for some reason everything I write tonight is really long....not complaining just making the point. Ok a few of you will be REALLY happy about where I took this, enjoy!!
End of Part 26
Rosalie shook her head as I started to rise again. I was hurting my family, they were hurt because I had to go find the bear alone. Now they all thought I was dead and even though I wasn't I wasn't allowed to have any interaction with them.
"Emmett, I think we should go. This is too much, please come with me." She begged.
I looked down at her, her eyes pleading with me to go with her. She ran her hand up my face, forcing me to focus on her face.
"Please." She asked.
I smiled at her and took one last look at my family. It was the last time I would see them, and I was glad to have had this chance.
We waited until everyone was back doing their chores before we started walking back. We had only been walking when I heard the sound of someone in the woods with us. I watched Rosalie smell around, trying to figure out who/what it was. I figured it was just Carlisle or Edward coming to make sure that we were going back. I looked at Rosalie waiting for her to tell me what was going on.
"Human." She whispered between her teeth as she grabbed my hand, pulling me into a area of trees that were so thick no one would be able to see us hiding in.
Part 27
"I knew we should have left earlier, this is a mistake. Please Emmett, just keep calm...maybe they won't see us." Rosalie whispered so low that there is no way anyone else would have heard her.
I stood so still that I could have been a statue, there as a feeling in my stomach that I couldn't put a name to. I wasn't sure if it was fear, excitement or possibly hunger.
As I tried to put a name to the feeling in my stomach the person walked out of the thick trees and stood where Rosalie and I had been hiding. The smell of the human hitting me like a punch to the face. I took a deep breath without meaning to, and when I did Rosalie grabbed my upper arm so tight that I had to look at her.
The smell was making me react without trying to, I wanted to go to the person in the brush and... Rosalie squeezed my arm again. I looked at her with so much anger, I knew I was stronger then her and I could get away if I wanted to. She smiled up at me again, forcing me to focus on her face.
"Emmett, it could be one of your family members. Please think this through." She pleaded.
I nodded slightly. Remember it could be someone I know...someone I know...someone I love. I kept telling myself that as I slowly calmed myself.
The person in the brush turned around and sighed loudly.
"I must be loosing it." The person said quietly.
I felt my eyes widen as I realized I knew that voice, I would know that voice anywhere. It was my brother Aaron, the one that I was closet to..the one that got hurt because of me.
"Emmett? I swear I saw you." He called out quietly. "Father will be so mad, I let my imagination get the best of me again." He said as he shook his head.
I felt myself slowly walking forward, Rosalie trying to restrain me. "Emmett no, you can't. You aren't the same, you could hurt him!" She said again.
"That's my brother Aaron, please Rose. I won't hurt him, I know I will not hurt him." I said with such conviction in my tone that she had to believe me.
"No. No Emmett you can't, you're dead to them. You aren't the same, how could you explain anything?" She stated, knowing that I knew all of this already.
"Rose, that's my brother. He will understand, I will figure something out. Please, let me introduce you to him." I said as I smiled at her and took her hand in mine.
"No, please, we have to leave now." She said avoiding my eyes.
"I want you to meet him." I said as I pulled her forward.
Aaron turned to face the area where we were still hidden in the woods. The fear visible in his face, it was like he was afraid it was the bear again. He started to shake, the fear taking over his body. He leaned against a tree and began begging. "Please, Please don't let that be the bear. I can't...I don't...Please." His voice cracked at the end as he leaned against a tree.
I took another deep breath before walking out of the trees, Rosalie was still begging me to stop but I couldn't stand watching my brother be afraid.
I stepped out of the trees, noticing that Rosalie stayed hidden. I looked back over my shoulder and smiled at her before turning to my brother.
"Aaron." I said softly.
His eyes widened, his breath coming out in gasps. He started to collapse and I moved as fast as I could to help him to the ground. He flinched away from me, as if I had hurt him or he was afraid of me.
"Aaron, breath. Come on, breath. It's just me." I said in the tone we use to use.
His eyes were focused on my face, he couldn't look away. "Emmett? No. NO! You're dead!" He said, panic in his voice.
"Aaron, please. It's me." I said softly.
"Oh no! It was the bear...I'm dead too." He whispered. "Oh mother is not going to handle this well at all."
"Aaron, you're not dead. Look around, this isn't heaven..it's the farm." I joked.
"It is you isn't it?" He said as he watched my face.
"Yeah.." I wasn't sure what else to say.
"What? Where? Who? What....what happened?" He stuttered.
"I have so much to tell you." I said to him. "How much can I tell him." I said very quietly to myself, or to Rosalie who I knew was listening and would be able to hear me.
"What did you say?" He asked.
"Oh, sorry. Ummm Rose?" I asked as I turned to the trees.
"Roses? What? What's wrong with you Emmett?" Aaron asked.
"Rose, please. I don't know how much, what to say. Please help me." I said as I looked right at her.
Rosalie sighed as she walked out of the trees, I watched Aaron's face very closely. His eyes widened so much I worried they would fall out. He had never seen someone so beautiful, so graceful and it was obvious on his face. I tried to hide my smile, apparently I didn't do it very well because Aaron looked away from her and glared at me.
"Hello Aaron." She said, her voice like that of a choir of angels.
Aaron sat on the ground staring at her, unable to form a sentence. I understood completely, she still did that to me.
"Aaron?" I said as I made him focus on my face, he kept looking from me to her and back again.
"Aaron this is Rosalie, Rose for short." I said as I stood up and walked over to Rosalie, taking her by the hand and led her closer to Aaron.
"Are you sure you can do this?" She whispered to me.
"Never been more sure." I whispered back as I smiled at her.
"Aaron, this is Rose." I said again.
"Very nice to meet you." Aaron said as he tried to stand and shake her hand or bow. I wasn't sure what he would have done.
He tried to stand on his own, his crutches too far away for him to reach on his own. However; with a broken foot he was unable to do this, I rushed over and helped him stand. He shrunk away from me, as if I hurt him.
"Your hands are like ice." He said as he looked at me again.
"Oh, I'm sorry." I said as I pulled my hands back.
"What's going on?" Aaron said.
"Umm, well, ok after I talked to you that night..Father and I had words." I said as the memories came back.
"Yes, he is so upset that he never got to apologize. Let's go to the house, you can explain to everyone there." He said as he started moving.
"NO!...I mean no, we can't go back." I said as I moved to stop him.
"Why not! They will be so happy you're ok, that you came home again. Though Ben and John are going to be jealous of her." He said quietly as he looked at Rosalie.
Rosalie smiled her perfect smile, obviously she had heard the whole thing. I didn't like the idea of my brothers wanting her, we were still.....well I wasn't sure what we were but I didn't want her to be with anyone else.
She saw the look on my face change and came over, taking my hand in hers. "It's ok, try to explain it to him as carefully as you can. It'll probably be best not to tell him all the truth." She said as she went up on her tip toes and kissed me softly.
The kiss started off as a quick kiss, but I wanted more. The one quick kiss was not enough, I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her closer to me, lifting her feet off the ground. I kissed her with everything I had, but after a few seconds she pulled her head back and looked at Aaron who was watching us.
The look on his face was priceless, I'm not sure that it was jealousy..but it was something close. He tried not to look, yet couldn't stop himself at the same time. I laughed as I set her back on the ground. "Ohh oops sorry Aaron."
"Aaron, please let us explain what we can out here. We won't be able to stay long, so I think it would be easier if we could just keep this between us." Rosalie said in a pleading tone.
"Let us explain, but if I do explain things you can not go back and tell anyone. NO ONE. If you don't think you can promise me that I will have to leave now, and that's not what I want." I said sadly as I looked at my brother for what could be the last time.
