“Mrs. Black, it’s time to wake up.” I opened my eyes to Jacob brushing his fingers across my face. “Are we there yet?” I asked still tired from the night before. We hadn’t stopped moving in the last two days. First was our wedding that was so magical. The reception was absolutely crazy fun, everyone dancing and laughing having a great time; it was almost like a dream, a wonderful dream. “Mr. Black you should really watch your speed, I don’t want to call my father and tell him you got a ticket in my new car?” I said smiling. “So where are we going Jacob, no one has told me a thing about where we are spending our honeymoon.” I never liked surprises or secrets, this was driving me insane. “Well, we are going to do your mom a favor and check on your grandma Renee for her. She’s been worried about her lately.” He said. “Grandma Renee doesn’t know I even exist. What’s our cover story; you know she is going to look at me and see my mom and dad.” Jacob looked at me and smiled, “You are my wife, and Renee knows I’m friends with your mother. We won’t tell her the truth about you but, we will tell her that you are Edwards’s niece, it may not cover on how you look so much like your mother and grandpa Charlie.” I grabbed his very hot and smooth hand and gave him a wicked smile giggled quietly to myself. “Ness what are you thinking about?” he said not taking his eyes off the road. “We’ve been stuck in this car for almost 3 days now, and we have been married for 3 days, I was just wondering when we were going to be out of this care and alone together?” As I said this my hand released from his and slowly reached over to his leg. I gave him another wicked smile and slowly started rubbing his leg. He knew exactly what I was thinking and talking about. “Ness we will be alone soon enough, let’s do this one favor for your mom then I promise we will be alone. We are only twenty minutes from Renee’s house. Do you want to change and get cleaned up?” He said knowing I would have to change in the back seat. So I hoped in the back and changed into a pair of clean jeans and a red top. It didn’t take long and we pulled into Renee’s drive way. “Are you ready for this?” “Not really Jake but, mom wants us to do this so for her I’m ready.” We got out of the car and walked up to the door and Jake knocked at the door. It was a few minutes and no one answered. “Well, maybe no one is home, we should,” then the door swung open. “Hello, can I help you?” she said. “Renee, I’m Jacob Black and this is my wife Nessie. I’m sure Bella told you that we where stopping by.” Jake said. “Of course, Bella called me a few minutes ago wondering if you were here yet. Please come in.” Renee moved around the door so we could come in. She was beautiful; I could see parts of me and my mother in her face; her cheek bones and her smile. Renee made me home sick for a brief moment; Jacob took my hand and gave me a smile and a nod. We were sitting in her living room now, small house but it seemed to fit her. We sat there for what seemed like forever, Renee was just staring at me. Finally Jacob broke the silence, “You have a very nice home Renee and thank you for letting us come by.” “Well, Bella said you were on your way through Miami and she said you had something for me?” “Oh we do, I must have forgotten it in the car, and I’ll be right back” Jacob quickly stood up and kissed my forehead and winked. “So how are you enjoying the weather down here?” Renee asked. “Well, I do miss home and I miss my family but it’s very sunny down here. More sun then I’m used to.” I said, does Jake know how awkward this is? “You look so much like your uncle and like someone else; I just can’t put my finger on whom though. I’m sure after you leave it will come to me.” “Yes I’m told that I look like my uncle Edward all the time. I happen to think I look like both of my parents though.”I regretted what I said the instant it came out of my mouth. I hope I didn’t let too much out. Where is Jacob, how long does it take to get something from the car? “So, where are your parents, Bella has never told me how you came to live with her and Edward.” She asked. I’ve had to tell this story more than one time. “My parents died when I was ten and the courts located my uncle Edward, he was the only family I had left in the world. So, I met with him and Bella and we all decided that it was a good idea for me to come live with them in Forks. Edward and Bella took me in and they treat me like I’ve always been a part of the family. They love me like I was their own daughter.” I always like to though that last line in for my benefit. Just then Jacob came back with a box of photo albums. “Bella said that you would enjoy these. She also said that you where to keep them, she made them just for you. She just thought you would enjoy seeing some of the places she and Edward have gone.” He put the box on the floor next to her on the floor. “So are you two going to be in Miami long?” Renee asked looking at us. Jacob spoke up before I could, “We are just passing through, and I’m trying to keep our final destination a secret.” “Well, I want to thank you for stopping bye and please give Edward and Bella my love.” Renee said showing us to the door. We thanked her again and we were back in the car. Some place I didn’t really want to be.
