This is just a short extra added on bit that I wrote that goes before Chapter 30. It should have been in Chapter 29 but I wasn't going to write it but then I thought, 'Why not?' So here it is.

Edward was carrying me to his Volvo. His arms were wrapped securely around my waist.
“Hey! Stop!”
Edward ignored me and shoved me, not ungentle, into the back of the car. He shut the door.
“Edward!” I shouted but again he ignored me. “Tell me what’s going on!”
Edward’s face was unreadable. It was like he was wearing a white mask. His eyes avoided all contact with mine because he knew I would be able to read him if I looked at those golden eyes. He was moving with extreme speed and was in the driver seat and revving the engine before I had time to even turn my head to the front.
“Edward, stop!”
Carlisle was in front of the car.
“You can’t just take her,” Carlisle walked around to the driver window. “She needs to go home to explain to her father. What will Charlie think if she doesn’t come home after being with you?”
“I am not leaving her,” Edward said, his teeth gritted together.
“I am not asking you to leave her. What I am asking you to do is give Charlie an explanation as to why you are running away with her half way across the continent.”
So, Jasper was right.
“I can’t tell him the real reason!” Edward sounded almost terrified. “He’d never let me see her again!”
“I’m sure Kayla can think of something,” Carlisle assured him. “Just explain to her the situation.”
I waited for Edward to turn to me.
“The female is now set on hunting you down,” Edward words were forcing their way out of his mouth. He didn’t want to tell me. He didn’t want to upset me. “When Jasper took you away, we tried to reason with them but they wouldn’t listen. I made it clear that you were mine. That they couldn’t touch you but that just seemed to make you more of a prize. We were prepared to fight them but they got away. They want to kill you. It’s your scent, Kayla. It’s so appealing and attractive that they want you so much. The female wants you the most but I’m sure the male wants you just as bad though he was more considerate than to just blatantly try to attack you.”
I let the words sink in before I spoke. So they wanted to eat me. No big deal. It isn’t like I won’t survive it. Oh wait, I can’t. One bite and I’m dead. Yippee. Not.
“I have to go home,” I said.
“You can’t go home,” Edward replied. “Don’t you understand? She’s tracking you. She’ll follow your scent to Charlie’s and then corner you.”
“And I’m supposed to leave Charlie to get killed?”
“He won’t be killed. He’s just like you.”
“No, he’s not just like me, Edward. It’s been a few years since he’s used his abilities.”
“He’ll be fine.”
Edward dismissed me with a casual wave of his hand and turned to face the front. I stared at the back of his bronze covered head before I exploded.
“EDWARD ANTHONY MASEN CULLEN! I AM GOING HOME TO SEE CHARLIE AND YOU ARE NOT GOING TO STOP ME!”
I threw opened the car door and jumped out. Edward was out of his seat in a flash and tried to push me back inside.
“No! You are not doing this, Edward! I have a right to explain to Charlie what is happening. He might never see me again!”
“He will see you again!”
“You should let her go see him,” Carlisle spoke to Edward. “He has a right to know.”
“She needs to get away as fast as she can,” Edward was so adamant to take me out of Forks. Why couldn’t he just wait an hour? It wouldn’t do any harm. The vampires wouldn’t attack while he was there. “We can’t hang around too long or they’ll pick up her scent.”
“This could be her last chance to speak to Charlie in a long time,” Carlisle was speaking very lightly but his words had an almost blackmail effect. “Are you going to deny her that?”
“She will see him again!”
“But when?”
Edward was getting frustrated. He wanted me safe and that meant leaving Forks. But while keeping me safe he didn’t want me to be unhappy.
“Then let me speak to him.” I took Edward’s hands in mine. “Let me give him a reason why I’m leaving for a while. It doesn’t have to be the truth but I have to tell him something. I can’t just desert him.”
“Will you think of something plausible?” Edward asked me.
“Yes,” I said. I was already searching through lists of reasons why to leave Forks.
He nodded.
“I’ll take you back but only if you promise to be quick inside. No lingering or giving big long explanations. Short and sweet.”
“Yes, Edward, anything.”
He kissed both my hands and led me back to the car.
“Let’s go then," he said, revving the engine.
