well, there was three New Moon trailers. So, i'm guessing you are talking about the last New Moon trailer since that was the only good one out of the three in my honest opinion. But, this Eclipse trailer is the first out of 3. It's just to sort of pick up the hype and feed more fuel to the fire of anticipation.
I was surprised with this trailer actually. Of course I had some negative thoughts about it, but it was overall, a good trailer. Way better than the New Moon ones. Just because the New Moon trailers had more footage, doesn't mean they were better.
For a first teaser trailer, this Eclipse trailer went beyond my expectations.

agreed , i just disagree with the victoria switch..
1st I thought that it could be better and it's very boring.
2nd time I started to like it because in 90 seconds they showed as much as they can.
The music they chose is very good. The triangle and Volturi were awesome. I still think it's a little bit boring, but hey! It's only 90 seconds and the whole movie will be how long? Two hours?
So it could be just better. :)
I saw all the steamy pictures of Bella and Edward a few weeks ago so i thought it would have been better. I was kinda disappointed with the trailer to be true but hopefully the whole movie is a lot better.
