Do you think Rosalie is selfish in eclipse, when she says that she would give up everything she has to be in Bella's place (to be human?) Wouldn't that Include Emmet?

Well, we are all entitled to our opinions. But I do not think that Rosalie Hale is a selfish person. This is simply what I think...

Rosalie, needless to say, suffered a terrible past. I don't like to repeat the events, but she was betrayed horribly by her fiance and it almost resulted in an awful death not one of us could ever imagine. Before this, she was like any other eighteen-year-old girl her age back then. She was happy, she had a wonderful family, wonderful friends (Vera), and she had dreams like most teenagers. She wanted to be married to the man of her dreams, and have a beautiful child of her own. When she met Royce, she thought she found those dreams. Now, imagine that you think you the found the key to everything you wanted, but the key turned on you, and everything you ever wanted was literally ripped away by such something so awful.

It's bound to take a negative toll on anyone who endures it.

Now, I will admit I used to think this would be true; Rosalie would give up Emmett for a human life. I even asked a similar question on another club. :)
But now, after thinking about it, I really don't think she would. As she said, Emmett is a significant role of what makes her happy to the present day in Eclipse when speaking to Bella. As she said before after telling her story, she needed him as much as he needed her. :)

Perhaps, if Rosalie ever had the chance to become human, she wouldn't choose a human life over Emmett after all.

But again, that is simply my opinion. :)

I just don't think she's as horrible a person as some of us see her as or make her out to be.

I thought she was a bitch in the first book... wen she started bein nice 2 Bella in the 2nd book i thought she was ok but i took a rager when i read that part in Eclipse... I dnt see how anyone (even if they DID want to b human) could want to leave Emmett!!!!

Yes. That would include Emmett. Rosalie is a selfish person. In her vampire life, everything is Emmett. He is the best of her world. Since she can't have a baby as a vampire, a mate is the best thing she could ask for. However, to be human is what she wanted. She never had a choice to become immortal.

Emmett knows that if she were given the chance to be human, she would give up him. In her human life, she got everything she wanted, and she can't in her vampire state.

So, yes. Rosalie is indeed a selfish being, not only in Eclipse, but every one of the books.

Probably. Rosalie doesnt seem to be close to Emmett and Jasper is with Alice. Rosalie badly wants her heart to start beating again.

Yes she was. She is being a hypocrite because she says she loves Emmet and that she couldn't be happier. Now she says she's jealous that bella can be human and that she would give everything up just to be human.
