Ok,I'm sorry but I didn't get it. What exactly happened to Rosalie,before she turned into a vampire?

When she came out to her friends house her fiance spotted her and then took her over to meet his friends. They were all drunk and he was showing off and acting stupid. Someone said that they can't really get a good look at her because of all the layers she had on so he started tearing of her clothes. Her fiance pulled her hair and they all seemed to like it when she cried out in pain. So, they raped her and then beat her up and just left her on the path to die. Carlisle found her because he could smell her blood and he wanted to go find out what it was. He saved her life but she didn't want to be saved. You probably know how it goes from here. :)

Rosalie's ex-fiance, Royce and a group of his friends brutally raped her and beat her almost to death (if Carlisle hadn't have saved her, I think she would have died).

It's very depressing and was hard to read about in my opinion :(
