Is it true that in Eclipse, the movie, they said that Esme changed Jasper into a vampire instead of Maria?

In the book, when Jasper was telling the story of how he became a vampire and how he got his scars, he explained that Maria changed him, a vampire who created an army. Now, I heard from a friend that suppossedly she heard or watched something that said in the movie, instead of Maria changing Jasper, Esme changed him. I don'tlnow how it would work but I still want to know if this is true. Has anyone heard or possibly watched a trailer?

I'm not sure how they would make that possible...Jasper was changed in 1843..Esme wasnt changed until 1921. They would have to do some serious re-writting of the story. :)

That's simply impossible since they made auditions for Maria so you can be sure she'll be in Eclipse and she'll be the one who transformed Jasper...

i think you misunderstood me... i already know the whole story, practically read it a dozen times (i read the whole saga when i have nothing new) or so. I just wanted to know if they followed the book or not... :|
