in eclipse im kinda confused whem rosalie was telling abot her mortal life.will somebody explain?

Well, when Rosalie was mortal, she was very beautiful and she loved being looked at by lots of guys. then she got engaged to thes guy- Royce King- and she went to see her friend,who was happily married with a boy, and Rosalie was Jealous for the first time in her life, because she wanted her own child...

When she left she was walking home by herself and she heard a group of guys walking down the street as well. They Sounded drunk so Rosalie started to walk faster, then one of the men was calling her name and it was her fiancee Royce with some friends. They all walked over to Rosalie and Royce and his friends started to rape her then when they had finished with their fun they left her in the street to die.

Thats when Carlisle and Edward found her then Carlisle saved her, when she finished suffering, Carlisle explained to her what she had become.

She was explaining this to bella because edward hadn't told her the full story, so Rosalie felt that bella should know why rosalie was being mean and why that she wanted Bella to stay mortal

Rosalie's friend, Vera, fell in love and got married, and had a beautiful baby. Rosalie got jealous, and wanted the same thing. Rosalie's parents set her up with Royce King, who was a rich, successful man in those times. Rosalie thought everything was perfect. She was happy, and looking forward to marrying him and having children with him. Rosalie wanted a baby more than anything else. One night, Rosalie was walking home from her friend Vera's home, and she saw royce with some of his friends. It turned out that royce and his friends were drunk. They raped rosalie and left her to die. Carlisle found her and changed her. and then she killed Royce and his friends.

Rosalie was very beautiful and she was engaged to this guy Royce (I think) he was considered a good catch for her and she also had this friend who had a baby and Rosalie wanted that life but she couldn´t admit it. One night she was alone and coming from her friend´s house and then Royce and his friends were on the street drunk. They raped her and let her on the street bleeding amd that´s when Carlisle saw her and then transform her into vamp although Edward didn´t want carlisl to convert Rosalie.

She's explaining to Bella why she wants her to stay human and why she's been mean towards her. In order for Bella to understand, Roselie felt Bella needed to hear her story.

The author wanted to explain to the reader why Rosalie was the way she was to not just Bella, but everyone. She also wanted to create more controversy to the issue of Bella becoming a vampire or staying human. I think after watching how Alice interacted with Bella at the "slumber Party" she was willing to tell Bella why she was what she was.
