Twilight Series Question

Why do you like/love Twilight?

I'm not asking for, "OMG CUZ EDWARDS HOT DUH," I want actual, solid, logical reasons why. Just what makes you like this series so much?

PLEASE, Twilighters! Give us some answers here! We swear we're not out to get you or bash Twilight; we're genuinely curious. Do you love Twilight for any reasons besides the hot guys in it? What makes it so special and worthy of obsessing over? What do you see in it? Inquiring minds want to know! =)

*sigh* I doubt that'll get their attention, LadyLilith, but I thought I'd try anyway. (Or maybe they really are stumped, lol...O Logic, Logic, wherefore art thou?) xD

I love twilight books because it have something that make me identified with the story, and also because the books are about to get something that we think is impossible, in this case an endless love and happiness.

And i love the film for the same reasons (obviously) and because of Kristen's performance in New Moon. I think she is really great actress. In fact I didn't go to see New Moon because of the hot guys, I went to see Kristen's performance...

:) Good, good for you. I'm glad a Twilight fan cares about something other than the hot guys. You have my respect, though in my opinion I don't think Kristen is a good actress. I'm just going off of her performance in Twilight though, I haven't gotten to see New Moon yet.

the thing is that I don't like Kristen at Twilight, but in New Moon she is great... and I saw others of her films like Adventureland, Speak or Into The Wild and she was great too.

I like the Volturi, that's why I liked the story. I had to suffer through Twilight before I could make it to New Moon, but it was a close friend of mine that told me if I suffered through the first, I would find some new and interesting characters in the second and third book and she was right. The Volturi still give vamps a good name, sticking with their traditional role of the vampire. They're killers who do what they have to in order to survive and they don't go to highschool because they want to relive their glory days or hook up. I like them, they still uphold everything a vampire is sopost to be. Fearsome creatures out to kill, not to cuddle.

Yes, I see what you mean. But like I said for the answer below yours, I like that the Volturi are more like traditional vampires, but they don't seem to really do anything...they just have the 'evil' title. No offense!

Another problem with SM writing. She made a group of excellent evil vamps, but didn't do anything with them and why...because they had nothing to do with Edward or Bella and she did that with a lot of the characters she put in her books. She did nothing with them, she just through them in there so she could make what she likes to call "A novel" when really it was nothing more then a shallow girl talking about how pretty her boyfriend was and that was sad.

Because Jacob's hot!! :)

Okay real reason. I like it because I really like the plot of it. It's forbidden love written in a way I've never read before. It's not like one of those stories like "We could never be together! Oh our parents/friends/cousins/whatever hate each other. I must go now." Then everybody dies.
Instead for Twilight it's really about the love bond between each other. Well some might not call it love but lust. I think the major goal for SM was for love.
I really like some characters of the story too. If I ignore the sparkling part the only decent characters (this is my opinon) is Jacob and Rosalie. Rosalie defends herself. The others go to school. Rosalie isn't like the rest. She stands up for herself and Jacob shows his love. No lion and lamb stuff. Just a straight forward I love you. Plus he's another character that stands up for himself. And the Volturi because they rock! I really don't have a reason. I mean if there were some sparklians and some vampires the Cullens (excluding Rosalie and maybe Jasper and ALice) would be the sparklians. Volturi's are vampires all the way!! (they act like it (vampires I mean) Not like the Cullens who stay inside "oh I don't want to stay go out! drinking humans is bad" Well have fun dying then! Because in the real vampire world you NEED human blood to survive) :)

XD You had me going for a minute...yeah I like Jacob too. But SM just ruined him... *Sigh* I can understand what you're saying though, I think you had reason enough. The problem I have with the Volturi is the fact that they're supposedly big and bad, but...they don't actually really do anything. They just have that 'big and bad' title. So while I like that they're supposed to be the more traditional vampires, they actually don't really show it...no offense! Just saying. ^^;;

The Volturi would have been cool if Steph would have worked with them, but like I said above, she did nothing with them. Those are the characters she should write about more, not a remake of Twilight from Edward's POV

I used to like it. Way back when the concept of "supernatural immortal guy falls for simple girl" was new and not yet overused. It sounds sort of cliched but I'm a sucker for those kinds of "powerful guy-normal girl" romances. :) Anyway. I liked it when the plot was new, but now, when teen literature became books with lack of originality where seemingly all the bestsellers are, if not carbon copies, parallel to Twilight, Twilight began to suck. I'm sorry, I got too carried away. :) But in response, it was because of the original plot AT THAT TIME.
