Apparently there has been a survey in australia about what is read more Harry Potter or Twilight and everyone is saying that Twilight sucks OMG!!! How could you say that who agrees with me that Harry Potter sucks and should move over???!!!
Harry Potter's an epic fantasy story, and Twilight's a vampire/werewolf romance. They are not really that comparable. Personally, I love both, but in different ways because they are different.

I don't get how anyone can say that HP sucks. Have you even read the books? Seen the movies? Twilight isn't even that well written. I mean, I love Twilight but Harry Potter is sooo much better. That will never change.

Harry Potter is good in some ways, but Twilight is so much better. It is hard to compare them because they are both too different. But I've never got in to Harry Potter as much as I am obsessed with Twilight.
Omgshh! me! i never even liked Harry potter from the start, too tell the truth, it's kinda gay lol. And the only movie I liked was the one with Robert Pattinson in it, and thats because the hotness factor took over. Twilight is wayyyyyyyyyyyy WAY better than Harry Potter.
Well im from australia and many people i know in south australia anyway love the twilight books including me.. they are amazing and the movie was soo good and i can't wait for new moon. i mean i was a semi harry potter fan before twilight came along but once it did i moved on from harry to twilight and it will reamin that way foreva. and i don't know what survey ur talking about but im betting its bull!
Well Im with you are one part.I am upset that they are saying Twilight sucks but I actually do like Harry potter books.Of course I think Twilight saga is so much better.:)
Well, I'm Australian and I like Twilight but I have also read Harry Potter. I think that maybe more people read Harry Potter but more people WATCH Twilight... then again surveys aren't always accurate. A majority of my friends have read Twilight and enjoy. I don't think you should hold it against us aussies. We love Twilight just as much as the rest of the world XD
btw. I understand that your an angry fan but people are allowed to have their own opinions. I'm sure there are other Twi-haters in the world than just Australians

I think Australia is more a country that dosnt get obsessed with things such as this, even the TwiHards i know some said HP was better, most people just said they were both gay but they prefer harry potter over twilight anyway.

Harry Potter is waaay better than twilight because harry potter has more depth to it, more fantasy, the author thinks more about what she is going to write, the acting and the reality of it. I do like Twilight and have read the books and also the movie. Just to add up I have read harry more than twilight.

for me, Harry Potter is a Great story which will someday become a classic. it is so much more, a magical world.
the twilight series is good too but imo just not as great as HP..
Okay, I don't think Twilight sucks. But neither does Harry Potter. Harry Potter is better than Twilight, it doesn't suck, and if you've actually read the books or even watched the movies, Harry Potter has had vampires in the first book/movie, and werewolves starting in the third book, both of which were around before Twilight was. Harry Potter should not move over, it is a classic, and is better than Twilight. Plus, to all of you who think Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was the best movie because of Robert Pattinson, he was way hotter in there than he is in Twilight, and they need to replace him in Twilight because Edward is supposed to be sexy and gorgeous. Harry Potter Rocks.
its really imitare that they are all saying that but i love both series! harry potters good but i like twilight better i think alot of people dont like twilight because everyone seems to like it! i think they should get over themselves and read the book before they criticize it! thats my opinion!

I have read all the HP and Twilight books and I have seen the movies and I can say that Twilight is not even half as good as HP. I mean come on! HP is a whole new world! How can you even compare Twilight to HP?
No, Harry Potter should not move over, and will never move over. The Harry Potter fanbase will outlive the Twilight fanbase by a long shot, and Harry Potter is much more respected and J.K Rowling is an extremely talented author. As others have said, it will be a classic.
(Before people get angry with me, I AM a Twilight fan... but I think I've dug my own grave lol...)
There shouldn't be any rivalry in the first place - they are completely different.
I love Twilight, I really do. And I'm sorry, but I think that it's not really even that good. I mean, I love it, but... Meanwhile, Harry Potter... Harry Potter should never move aside for Twilight because Harry Potter DOES NOT SUCK. I never want to hear anyone say that HP sucks. EVER.
I'm an Aussie and a Twilighter :) but i love Harry Potter more <3 it was the original phenomonon and will stay that way forever i think.. i got heaps of my friends on to Twilight but i know there are those out there that don't like it... but it just comes down to peoples opinions... Twilight doesn't suck, and if everyone hated Twilight then why would New Moon be coming out on the 19th?? lol i'll be lining up <3
OMG please! these two sagas are totally different! I hate Harry Potter and I have no idea how someone can like it and what's so attractive about HP? kindergarten.. Of course Twilight isn't a masterpiece of the century either but c'mon! legends about vamps and werewolves will live forever :)) people will always be interested in them! I like Twilight because of this latter fact. HP??? don't make me laugh :)

And so you think that legends about witches and wizards won't live forever. And thank you very much but I prefer legends with original vampires and werewolves in them like the vampires that die if they are exposed in the sunlight and the werewolves that ARE werewolves and not shapeshifters.
Witches? no thanks :)) Legends should be changed a bit, every writer has his/her own point of view about it. if everyone wrote the same it wouldn't sound original, would it? Harry Potter is a fairy-tale in 100%, Twilight in 95%...according to some lores people do transform in werewolves and vice versa, so... :D
Well HP is a fairy tale in a way but Twilight is a fairy tale too. Vampires are creatures that one person came up with. In the 15nth century they used to burn women for being witches though.
what's so valuable about HP? or even about Twilight? yes, I like this latter but I find it disappointing that the youth begins to read books with HP or Twilight. I don't mean you, I'm just talking about majority....
I will answer for Phoebe_Gabriel because I'm her best friend and I know exactly what she would say. Harry Potter is a good book to read bec ause it's not just about witchcraft but also about frienship. And what is more important than friends? It also talks about family bonds, family dying for one another. Whereas in Twilight it's only romance and crappy in my opinion. Ok before you attack me for being a Twilight hater and being in this spot I'd like to say that I'm only here because Phoebe_Gabriel answered this question and I wanted to back her up.

no way!! twilight is AWESOME!!! im sure harry potter is a good read and all but i wouldnt read it cause im a christain and the whole warlocs and wicthes thing doesnt exactly sit right with me. i know ppl who drink blood are not that much better but its a romance thing. not witchcraft. Harry Potter is not just about witchcraft! It talks about frienship and family bonds, generally some people united against the ultimate evil. Do you know why Dracula couldn't stand being near crosses? Because he was the ultimate evil, Satan himself. Vampires came from Dracula so this isn't much better than witchcraft I can assure you.
you really can't say that Harry potter sucks! it is a fantastic series of book.Even though i do like twilight more you really can't compare the two series because they have completely different good storylines! This debate over which book is better is silly seeing as they have nothing in common!
I loved Harry Potter when I was about 8-12 yrs old and have love Twilight even more after i read the books (about 12yrs old) and I think I love Twilight more than i love Harry Potter, But, maybe it is just that HP and Twilight are directed to diffrent ages. It goes from friendship and family bonds to romance (do you think a 9yr old would understand that??)

Well there is romance in Twilight but you can't say there is friendship. Bella just gives up all her friends to be with Edward and they weren't really her friends anyway she just used them to get away from Charlie.
Twilight can be awesome and is popular. Harry Potter can be awesome and is popular. That's really the bottom line.
I just never understood the foolish war between these two books. I mean hey, if you like Twilight better, you like HP better, or you like both at the same amount, then okay. No big deal.
