alot more people like Edward. But alot of people like Jacob because of his body. That may be a misperception, but alot of Jacob fans say he's hott because of his body. WIth that said, I think since New Moon is coming to theatres, alot of the Jacob fans are speaking up since they get to see more of him in New Moon. So, it seems like alot more people like Jacob, but really, its the other way around. 75% of the fanbase, maybe more are Team Edward.

They may be shape-shifters but I think everybody refers to them as werewolves. Or at least, a lot of people do, even though they're aware that they're not 'wolves'... I do that., too.
But if you've read Breaking Dawn...they clearly say that the werewolves are the evil ones....No one in the pack comes across as evil....not even Jacob! lol Just playing...Team Twilight...Bella is will Edward and Jacob is with Renesmee...everyone got their happy ending.

JACOB is not half the "man" edward is.. he NEVER want to be FRIENDS with Bella he just wants her as girlfriend!!! he may not be dead ,, but he does turn into a big oversize wolf. who could rip bellas face of at any second.. yikes.. id pick a sparklin vampire over tat any day,.. edward could never hurt bella.. edward left to protect Bella.. he was willing to sacrafise his own happiness for Bella.. (as jacob does just before the fight and on other occasions) im stickin with Team Edward.. and not because i think .. ohhh he is sooo hot... my reason is because he is the one who is most deservin to be with bella!!!! i just dont like the way Jacob kissed bella the first time... or the things he says to her b4 the second kiss.. there mean.. or the way he reacted outside her weddin when he hurt her arms by holdin them to tight.. its for those reasons and other reasons that i dislike Jacob so much!!! the end.. g that was long!!!.
EDWARD is also dangerous. He could have killed Bella at any time. 'Edward could never hurt Bella' he DID hurt her physically in Breaking Dawn. 'Jacob would never do tat' he did exactly that constantly through Breaking Dawn-it hurt him to see Bella but he went back anyway because she wanted to see him.
Um, the majority of people like Edward. But there are those of us that aren't into Edward much but love Jacob, like me. I love Jacob Black and no, it isn't because he's 'hott' or because Taylor is 'so cute with rockin' abs!' ... no, I like Jacob because I think his character is cool, and simply more interesting to read than Edward. In my opinion, Edward is dull and lame, whereas Jacob is awesome but, each to their own. I've made lists of reasons I love Jacob on the Jacob Black spot, maybe I'll find them and paste them here. I could re-do them now but I just got woken up by my loud buzzing phone and therefore I'm sleepy. xD
There are also people that dislike Edward because they think his controlling behaviour is abusive. People have given long lists as to why Edward is an abusive boyfriend, and no, it doesn't have to be physical abuse to be abuse... There are videos on the subject.

You can like both. I do, though I prefer Jacob because he's isn't controlling. Edward controls Bella and it annoys me a lot.

He is controlling, but I don't think he controls her. I'm not sure if that's what you meant by controlling her. He does have his own habit of trying to control the situation when he thinks its a bad idea, but he still lets Bella make her own decisions. If he was as controlling as you see him then why did he let her choose between him and jacob? if he was as controlling as you see him, he would have forced himself on her, but he didn't. He gave her room, he let her decide.
In Eclipse, he stops her seeing her best friend. And he was going to sign her own college forms and send them off. I would say that was controlling her.
And I forgot to mention in Twilight when he 'yanking' her to his car, and 'threatened' to drag her back. Also in Eclipse he says 'Then I’ll have to stop you'... Sorry, but in my opinion, that is controlling someone.
omg... i am SO GLAD you asked this question.. i mean... why would anyone like jacob when he is so CLEARLY an arrogant, selfish little boy whos only objective is NOT to be Bellas "best friend" but to be her "BOYFRIEND"... he doesnt care about their friendship.. the whole way through eclipse and breaking dawn... never ONCE has he acted as a friend should... and throughout New Moon.. HE JUST was startin a crush on her.. the friendship was never an objective... Edward on the other hand is what a real man should be... he would sacrafise his own happiness as long as Bella was happy.. even if Bella decided that she wanted to be with Jacob.. he would have excepted that because he truely loves Bella... and cares about her .,, Edward would never disown Bella or be mean to her IF she had of decided to be with the "wolf"... jacob is childish.. and not a nice person...he is MEANT to be Bellas friend so why is he not acting like one... Jacob is always there for Bella especially throughout New Moon. Even though he probably didn't think he stood a chance with Bella, he was still friends with her. He helped her. And he gives Bella choices. Just saying :)
Well I'm Team Jacob but I respect your opinion as a Team Edward, as long as you can respect another's opinion as a Team Jake, or even as somebody who isn't on a Team or even a Jacob fan, but isn't a lover of Edward
hey if you've went on stephanie meyers website and read the parcial draft of midnight sun legally you can see that Edward is very selfish all the way through his first class with Bella he was thinking of wats to kill her just because of her smell has jacob ever wanted to kill Bella because of her smell no and wht dont you Team Edward people ever put yourselves in Jacobs shoes could you not do what he did if you could?
If I remember correctly in Breaking dawn didn't he leave his pack which were basically like his brothers to go and be by bella's side. How does that make him selfish and not a true friend. I think it actually has the opposite effect.
vampkayla1123, it's Edward's instinct to kill her. He doesn't want to kill her and he hates himself for it. And as for Jacob, I do feel sorry for him, but him whining or trying to "be noble" about it doesn't make it better. Jacob was completely immature to pretend to kill himself just for her to kiss him. To me, that's really low and desperate. And when Jacob left his pack, it's because he felt like it was something he had to do. What Sam's pack was going to do was wrong, and he knew it. Yeah, it could have been for Bella's sake too. And a TRUE friend would not force themselves on their recooperating friend. IN New Moon, he didn't bug me too much. It was in Eclipse. Quite frankly, Bella made me mad too. So, I'm not saying I hate Jacob, I like him sometimes. Just sometimes.
If it had been any other girl than Bella would he have left his pack for it. I don't think so. I think he was a true friend to her. He did some things that were questionable but he was still a good friend even when she wasn't the best to him.
He was only so in love with Bella because of nessie...so it was almost as powerful as imprinting, so can you really blame jacob for wanting to be bellas boyfriend?

We could ask the same things to all the Team Edward fans out there. What is it really about him that you like because I find his character controlling and annoying not romantic and protective.
What I like about Jacob is that he tries to be there for her no matter what. He knows that he doesn't really have a chance with her and he settles with just being her friend. It took him a while but he eventually got there.He stood by her after she became a vampire which are his enemies. I think that he has done alot for her even though she didn't really deserve it.
