So you know in the Twilight movie when Bella is about to go with Jasper and Alice, and Alice tells Edward she'll take care of Bella, then Edward says "Can you keep your thoughts to yourself." What is that all about?
Thanks all for your responses! I was always wondering about that part! Haha! Thanks again!
none of you got that right although one came close. at that point in the book bella has decided she wants to be a vampire. if you read stephanie meyer's notes on edward and his family you would know after bella makes that decision alice has forseen bella becoming a vampire and since edward is against this he doesn't want bella to know alice has forseen it. also at this point bella doesn't yet know the mechanics behind it. at least in the book she doesn't. the movie kind of ruined that which is probably why most of you didn't get it right. edward did not volunteer information on becoming a vampire. alice told her in the hotel room.
u no when bella first goes to the cullens house, and she first meets alice properly, alice says "You do smell good" or something like that. i think thats what edwards talking about
he says that because my best geuss is that she was thinking of when she saw bella ending up dead cause edward killed her or her as a vampire and he doesnt like that he is trying 2 stop it from happening
Remember in the book when Alice told Bella about how to be a vampire? well, before Alice told Bella, Edward didn't want Bella to know and he said for her to keep her thoughts to herself. That's the best i can explain it. But in the movie, it can be perceived differently :)
Becuse James is there somewear and listening to their plans so Edward said to Alice to "Can you keep your thoughts to yourself". Or James could have found out about there plans much faster if she had said it out load. And Edward is a mind reader.
Stephenie Meyer posted some of new moon on her website and Alice always saw bells being a vampire and she saw it was the easiest way to deal with it but Edward hated the thought of destrying Bella's soul.
Remember when Edward told Bella that Alice could predict the future, and that it's subjective to change, Alice saw it, she saw Bella coming, she saw the change. I'm pretty sure her thoughts involved Bella being changed regardless and Edward just didn't want to hear it, or see it at that moment.
alice's visions are subjective and she cant see a persons future until they make their decisions an edward doesnt want bella to know how it all works properly alice seen her coming and saw a few possibilities but cant be sure which prediction is the one that will be followed as bella hasnt made the decisions yet so edward doesnt want alice to influence bella's decisions by telling her what she has already forseen in her visions, edward wants her to be human the way it would have been had he not existed or crossed her path.
