Well, you could try searching for betta fish on google.... Sorry, I am not much help.....but it's the best you can do... If you have a youtube account, you could try posting this on your profile....or you can search for videos or for books on the life span of a betta fish and how to look after your fish....And just a minute ago I found this helpful website called link Try it.

Well you shouldn't put any other fish in the tank with the betta fish and as for the water, with all of my fish I always gave them water from the bathtub so you could try that. But you have to let the water sit out for a few days before letting the fish in it. I'm not sure about the black spot. You might want to talk to a fish expert about that

Yeah, no tap water. And never put a fish in with a beta. Especially another beta. My best friend found that out the hard way... But maybe the water temp. is wrong for your fish? Hope I helped!
