Twilight Series Question

Just got Twilight! Is it really that bad?

I just got the Twilight DVD in the mail today (Netflix) and Im trying not to get my hopes up. I just finished the books this week , I wanted to wait to watch them until I was done with the series. Everyone I have talked to though said the movies were horrible. I always expect for movies to be blah when compared to the book its based off of, but I dont expect them to be HORRIBLE. It is really as bad as everyone says? Im getting New Moon after, and some people said it was better than Twilight. I might even be able to catch Eclipse in theater before it doesnt play anymore. What did everyone HONESTLY think of the films? I know the book was better, but where they really THAT bad? Im gonna watch it tomorrow, let you know what I think then...

Thank you everyone :) I couldn’t wait to watch it so I stayed up last night, haha. I watched the whole movie, the extras, and then watched the movie again with the commentary, LOL. I went in with very low standards, so I thought it was amazing! Defiantly not as good as the books, but still really cool :) I’m glad I read the series first though. It really did leave a lot out. Anyway, I’m sending it back today and getting New Moon, yay!

Okay then. I hope you enjoy New Moon. I didn't and if it weren't for the shirtless wolf pack I probably wouldn't have watched it...........but everyone's different.

Lol, the half naked hotties might keep my attention :) A lot of people liked New Moon more than Twilight, but liked Eclipse more than New Moon. Hopefully Ill get it soon! Thanks!

I just watched Twilight, so I will have New Moon soon :) Cant wait, hopefully I can catch Eclipse too, before it comes out on dvd.

And kudos to you for reading the books before watching the movie! The movies corrupt "fans" minds because of the guys. So props to you!

What I thought? The books are better for sure. At first, Twilight was a disappointment for me. However, after seeing New Moon, I was happy with Twilight. New Moon failed to capture the emotion of the book. You were taken on this journey, but it's like you were taken on a train ride with nothing to see. You weren't able to feel what you were shown. You were shown anguish and pain and reunion, but you didn't feel them. Especially not in comparison to the book. Eclipse was easily the best out of the 3. However, as a fan of the books, I do always have quirks with the movies.

I have an Eclipse review if you are interested in reading about it. Though, you don't have to. Lol

So, just watch the movie, then come up with judgment yourself. Don't let others' opinions sway your judgment. :)

THANK YOU!! Well said :) I did like the book better, there were a lot of changed and missing scenes. Sigh. But thats films for ya. We would be watching the movie for 6hrs if they tried to fit it all in, lol. Of course, I wouldnt mind, but it wouldnt sell well that way, haha. Thanks again!

I read allll the books before watching the movies because I was afraid that would happen. I dont think they 'ruined' the books for me, they just werent even close to being as good as the book... I watched New Moon right after and deff liked it more than the Twilight film.
