In Twilight is Jacob jealous of Edward, because he has Bella?

I think Jacob was jelous of Edward. The fact that Jacob has a soul and Bella still chooses to be with Edward even though he doesnt but she believes he does. Jacob has always been in love with Bella, just never had the nerve to tell her and was too late when she met Edward.

Well first, I think you put the wrong pages down. Those pages you mentioned is during Cahpter 14 and that chapter has no mention of Jacob in it.

But in answer to your question, no I don't think Jacob was jealous. More like intimidated. Jacob was a boy with a crush. Nothing serious. I mean, him and Bella barely hung out when they were little. Just when Bella visited her father.

During the Twilight book, I doubt Jacob was in love with Bella. How could he be? He'd only seen Bella a few times when they were younger, and they barely talked in the book. Just passing conversation.

Their friendship didn't really take off until New Moon in my opinion.

I think he was more intimidated by Edward rather than actually jealous of him.. in Twilight he was so young and innocent....if he felt anything for Bella it was probably just alittle crush....he really didnt fall for Bella until New Moon

Well, within every love triangle out there I am positive that jealousy is involved. But I don't think jealousy was the most dominant emotion Jacob was feeling while he was in love with Bella.

I think Jacob felt intimidated. He knew that even though Bella loved him as well, she loved Edward much, much more. When it came to who Bella would choose, Jacob wouldn't stand a chance. And he acknowledged this.

Along with jealousy and intimidation, Jacob of course felt heart-broken.

He had assumedly fallen in love with Bella during New Moon, when it was just him and Bella. They have gone through a lot together; Bella's depression, Jacob's becoming a werewolf. Jacob must have seen his soul mate in Bella during that time...but once Alice arrived and Bella received the news that Edward was going to Volterra to have the Volturi destroy him, she literally pushed Jacob aside and went with Alice to save Edward. I can imagine that Jacob felt horrible about this. The girl who he thought was his true love (because Renesmee is, although I disapprove) was suddenly gone, and wherever she had gone to she may die there to save the one she clearly was in love with. As I have said before, Jacob must have been purely heart broken.

Ok, I know I'm rambling on right now.

What I'm trying to say is this;
Yes, I think that Jacob felt jealous. But I think his jealousy was mingled with other strong emotions while he was fighting for Bella.

Jacob did probably already have a crush on Bella, but in that scene, his behaviour is more out of embarrassment for the warning Billy's asked him to give. Remember, Jacob doesn't know the truth or believe the legends yet.
