If I am to be honest- well yeah it bothers me...just a bit. But then I just remind myself that 5th graders, 12-olds and all those younglings0they do see something quite different than the older of us. For them it`s like- the love story, the unskilled in love matters girl, the cool vampires and wolfs-actually it`s different for everybody. What matters most is that we shouldn`t be ashamed that we love Twilight just cuz we`re a bit older. What I see, find in the series is very private and I don`t think anybody else does- that`s the magical thing about books and reading:))))

Totally. Today's 5th graders are not maturely advanced enough to read Twilight. Besides, how much of it would they even understand?

Their psychological advancement of a 12 year old is probably not too great either. The first book would be acceptable for their reading level, but not Breaking Dawn.

Uhm. seriously. Some people have different maturity levels. i know a girl who understood it. she was 12, and read breaking dawn, and got everything. im 13. is there a huge difference between 12 and 13/ not really.

well a little bit but not so much because i was reading books way above my level back then. it wouldn't bother me if they could handle it but breaking dawn is a little shaky because i mean everywhere you look or read it's all about sex sex sex so it's not as bad as people might think. and doesn't it annoy you guys when people don't read but they go see the movie and then act like they know everything about it when they really don't

I agree, I was in line getting food at Wendy's the other day and I swear this girl was in 3rd grade and she was saying Twilight was the dumbest book she had ever read!! She said it took her a while to read it, but she finished it and said it was stupid! First of all, I thought she was a little to young to be reading it. Second of all, I was mad at the little girl for making fun of it!
So yes, it does bother the crap out of me.

yea third grade is way too young to be reading the twilight series period because theres stuff those kids don't understandat that age group still but expecially not breaking dawn because that book has has gotten a little bit more grown up then the other books. i know this one lady that lets her 5 year old watch any kinds of movies he wants she even let him watch the movie twilight which i don't think was right but he not my kid so i have no say what he watches.

I wouldnt say it annoys me but other things piss me off lightly. I got insulted by some people, cause i am 24 years young and so into twilight. when i tried to explain that the series is for everyone i got called a freak. I was so pissed off about that, cause seriously Twilight is for sure not for little kiddies. So why does no one go and mock them for being like 12 or less. [dont get that wrong i dont have problems with anyone personal, but i had to say that]

haha...GOOD kids loves to read at a young age!

BUT....

I do agree that "Breaking Dawn"...err...might be inappropriate for young kids. I was thinking that when I read the book. But i do think that Stephenie Meyer did a good job on writing it. She didn't really explained or described the "love" scenes clearly (although, yeah, Bella might have been too anxious every night time when they're at their little house cottage XD ). Unlike some novel or like pocket books that is very "detailed" in the part of the...you-know-what...so I think its okay. Reading books at a young age is an advantage, it only becomes a disadvantage if the kid see it differently and various ideas might pop in their heads and becomes too advanced for their age when it comes to these stuff. Breaking Dawn isn't really a bad reading material for 5th graders but in order to put the minds of others at ease, parents should supervise and explain to their children about what they are reading and the whole point.

And anyway...5th graders tackles about this already in school right? they don't need to be so ignorant.

~my own opinion but if you have any objections...you can comment...i could always look at different angles ;)

I don't feel like a 5th grader reading it but I just hate when these little girls say that they love Twilight even though they have seen only the movie and read maybe like the first book.
I don't think they understand the book - the book is about love which they had never experienced. I mean I have never experienced love as well but I know how it feels when I like someone but I don't feel worthy enough for him or something like that.
I know that I'm not far from these 12year-olds (I'm 15) but I think I am more a grown-up that they are!
