If you haven't read Breaking Dawn, then I don't think you could really answer this question to its full potential...
Turning into a vampire meant sacrificing everything... Do you really think Bella sacrificed everything? I saw a comment on fanpop about Bella sacrificing her family and friends and human life. And that hit the debater in me. Think really hard. Did she really give up everything? Maybe her mortality, but if you've read Breaking Dawn, she was still able to see everyone she loved who was human.
Blaming Bella for choosing wrong, either for Edward or for becoming a vampire, is invalid. She never gave up anything! Just a heartbeat! Her decision for becoming a vampire, to be with Edward, lost alot of it's weight, because of that fact. The phrase "it's the thought that counts" applies to this situation I think, but...
