Because most Edward fans, at least the ones that I have seen, like him because he is "sooo perfect" and "hawt." That's their whole reasoning. They just see the fact that he's "perfect" and attach to it. I know that there are some Jacob fans that like him because he's hot, too, but more of them have reasons.
I think there are members of each team that hate the other team. I hate Edward, not because I am on Team Jacob, but because he's bland and has no personality.
I'm sure Team Edwards can give reasons to why they hate Jacob, but you do seem to see more of them than people who hate Edward.

ya i dont know many people who hate edward.even my friends like edward more than jacob
I lean more towards Edward, but both guys have their issues and are a bit bland. I don't base the characters on looks, especially when I was first reading the series. There's just something about Edward that intrigues me more so than Jacob, setting aside their bad characteristics they both hold.
Yeah, looks don't sway me either. I don't get why people use their looks as a personality trait, especially for book characters. Well, I guess Edward can be a bit intriguing, haha.

actually, nowadays im pretty sure their are more team jacob ppl then team edward ppl. i don't "hate" Jacob. but i DO find him very annoying at times. i like Edward better because he is a gentlemen and so sweet natured to Bella. he'd do anything for her to make her happy. and as for so many people saying he's got no personality, i don't believe that one bit. i think he has plenty of personality. he shows it all the time with Bella. how he's always sarcastic and funny. and other stuff too.
I like them both but I am Team Edward and not just because he's hot. I love him because he is hot when he is angery and he has the most prettiest eyes. I love Jake too but not as much> LOL :)

I feel like Edward is better because he is way more mature. He is so romantic. Bella and Edward are meant to be and Jacob knows that but keeps pushing cause of Edwards mistake which was fixed!

edward is a 109 and has a lot of time to become a matured person.he knows how to act according to the situation.jacob is just a teenage boy
I'm an Edward fan all the way. I use to not really care then I read the books and learned more about Jacob and "got to know him" and I didn't like who he became by end of Breaking Dawn. I guess I don't exactually "hate" Jacob but I strongly dislike him.

I think it is because the Twilight story started with Edward and Bella and their love. People became obsessed with it and hate anyone that comes in the middle of it. They cant see that the reason why there was even a Jacob character is because Edward left Bella(it doesnt matter why he left, he left and said he wasnt coming back) and because Bella came to Jacob even though she knew ever since Twilight that he had a crush on her. She still came to him and said shed spend everyday with him and even offered to run away with him. Of course Jacob fell in love with her and was fighting to keep her alive by whatever means necessary. Was his feelings suppose to just stop because Edward came back. If thats the case then Bellas feelings should have just stopped when Edward went away. Hes not a jerk or rude. He was persistent, never giving up until there was nothing else he could do for the one he loved.

u are right.he was just fighting for the girl he loves and if there was no jacob then bella would not have been alive and when edward finds out he would have went to the volturi
I think more people like Edward and Bella because they were the original couple. It's hard to switch sides when you've already chosen.
As for why Edward fans hate Jacob
Different people have different opinions. I like both Edward and Jacob, but my little sister loves Edward and hates Jacob. More Edward fans probably dislike Jacob because he is the opposing side/team. When you watch sports generally you have one team you root for. I believe it works the same way for Team Edward and Team Jacob. Though there are the occasional oddballs (like me) who like both sides.
