Found Cullen
Chapter 1. The Meeting:
I never thought I would even see her. My aunt, in my reach. She was the only family I had left. My mother and father had been killed. The rest of my family had died a long time ago. Being a vampire, I should have expected it. I had never known them. But right then, my aunt was in the house in front of me. I looked up and scanned the beautiful mansion with my butterscotch eyes; my light brown hair getting in my face. Its levels and windows dazed me. So did the fact that the whole back half of the house was made of glass.
I heard shuffling inside the house. Edward had heard my thoughts. I took in a deep, unneeded breath, and knocked softly. Almost immediately, the door opened. Carlisle, I thought. The man in front of me stunned me in a way I could never describe. With his golden hair and 23 year old face, he was gorgeous. I could tell by the look on his face that he could tell I was a vampire.
“May I help you?” He asked me in his soft, compassionate voice.
“Yes actually,” I hesitated and looked past him. All of them were there, watching me. Edward, Bella, Renesmee, Esme, Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper, and the one I came for, Alice. I looked back at Carlisle. “Look, we both know what we are. So do I have 2 prove it or can I just come in?”
“Prove it,” Rosalie’s harsh voice spoke. She had thrown a vase at me. Using my special ability, I looked at it fiercely and it froze in mid air. Then I gently set it down back on the table. The look on Carlisle’s face was priceless. I guessed he had never seen my power before.
“If u didn’t catch that, I can control inanimate objects with my mind,” I smiled.
“Come in,” Carlisle stepped back and I ran inside. In a matter of seconds, I was in the house, Carlisle was standing by Esme; Edward, Bella and Renesmee were on the couch, and the rest seemed to crowd behind Emmett.
“I suppose I should introduce myself,” I tried to keep my expression neutral. “My name is Alice Azaelia…” I hesitated with my last name and my gaze fell upon Alice. “Brandon.”
Alice took an intake of breath and dropped the baseball she was holding. Again, I used my power to catch the ball and set it in Jasper’s hand. He took the ball and set it on the table, but soon advanced to cradle Alice in his arms.
“What is it dear?” His gentle voice asked.
Alice ignored him. “What was your mother’s name?” She wouldn’t take her eyes off my face.
“Cynthia.”
In a span of 2 seconds, Alice was out of Jasper’s arms and I was in hers. I was 2 inches taller than she was, so I wrapped my arms around her too, and buried my face is her black spiky hair.
A minute passed, and Alice and I were still hugging each other. Bella decided to speak first.
“Are we missing something?” I looked up to see Bella walking towards us.
Alice pulled back from our embrace but kept my hand in hers. A wide smile had spread across her face. “Jasper knows, and Edward should too,” she said.
They all looked at Jasper and he nodded but didn’t look away from me.
“Elaborate please,” Emmett said this pointedly at me but Alice spoke.
“Guys, after I knew that James had been after me, and where I had been at the beginning of my life etc, etc. I did some research on myself.” She laughed at this statement. “I remembered that I had a sister. Her name was Cynthia.” Sudden realization came into all of their faces. “I did some more research and found out that I had a niece. This is her.”
Esme smiled very wide. I think she took comfort in the fact that Alice had some blood relatives around.
“Wait,” Bella looked stunned. “So you guys are ACTUALLY related. Like blood related?”
We both nodded.
Emmett, being the happy guy that he is, easily brought both of us into a hug.
“This is so great!” He said.
I laughed. “Yeah it is.” He stepped back and Renesmee came up to me. She was still little, a pre-teen.
“So you’re like my cousin?” She asked me.
I nodded. Then she was hugging me, and I was hugging her. When she finally stepped back, I looked around at the vampires standing around me. All of them were smiling. Even Rosalie was, which surprised me.
“You said your name is Alice?” Esme asked with a smile in her voice.
“Yes. My mom named me after my aunt I guess.”
“Do you have a nickname or something? Cause’ that could get confusing, having two Alice’s.” Emmett was so lighthearted; I wasn’t surprised that he asked me that.
“Ali.”
He clapped his hands together. “That works.”
We all laughed.
“Sit down dear, sit down.” Alice walked me over to where Bella had been sitting. I sat and they all crowded around me. “Now, I am very interested to know something Ali. How did you become a vampire? I mean, it’s not like you changed yourself and then found me.”
“That is a long story, but we aren’t running out of time any day soon,” We laughed again. “Well, first of all, you should all know that I am a vegetarian vampire. I have never liked the killing of humans for blood.”
I saw Carlisle breathe a sigh of relief.
“So, despite not knowing Alice, and my dad dying in a car accident, I was living a normal life until June 1942, when a strange man started following me around. I couldn’t figure out why. This went on for about a month when he approached me after a soccer practice, after everybody had gone. His stunning, scary, yet beautiful features enchanted me. He told me about you, what had happened to you.”
“So you knew what happened before I did. Wow, that’s fair,” Alice chuckled.
“I couldn’t believe my ears,” I continued. “I tried to run. I was screaming ‘I have to find my aunt! I must find her!’ He easily caught me. Then, he explained to me how a vampire was changed, how you were changed. He had a, I now understand, a thirsty look in his eyes. He said ‘Your aunt isn’t mine, but you will be.’
Bella shuddered. I didn’t know why.
“Suddenly, I was on the ground. I was screaming. This vampire’s teeth were embedded in my neck. A burning went throughout my body. I tried screaming louder, but I found that I couldn’t. My body was in shock. I could feel the life being sucked out of me. All of a sudden, his body was thrust off of mine and the burning became worse. I looked up to see another vampire standing above me. His face was soft. ‘My name is Ryan.’ He told me. ‘I am going to help you.’ Ryan picked me up and ran. For god knows how long. While we ran, he told me that my mom was dead; that that vampire had killed her to get to me. I was devastated. So I went with him.
After the change was completed, Ryan taught me how to live. But I could never shake the feeling of curiosity I had about you Alice. I wanted to know you. The only family I had left. Also, I hated killing people. I just hated it. None the less, I lived with Ryan for a very long time. But I did my research. In 1990, I found you. I saw how you lived, and I liked it. I liked the feeling of not killing humans. So I tried it. It took a while but I eventually got my thirst under control.
“I had kept this fact from Ryan for many years; I knew he would be upset. But he found out. He found out about everything, me finding you, watching you, me feeding off animals. Ryan and I had a fight. He was angry at me for abandoning our way of life. It got physical. Regrettably, I ended up killing him. So, I decided to finally approach you. And here we are.”
Silence filled the room, everyone was speechless.
“I know it is a lot to take in,” I said.
Carlisle nodded. “So do you want to stay with us?”
My spirit lifted. Carlisle was so compassionate. “If you don’t mind!” I didn’t want to seem desperate.
“Of course we don’t mind Ali! We won’t let you be alone. Plus, Alice finally has some connection to her past. We have always wished that for her. And there is no weird phase where you learn to control your thirst. You have it under control already. It’s like you were meant to find us,” Carlisle smiled.
I smiled back at him. “Thank you so much.”
“Of course,” said Esme. “You will be a Hale though. You look more like them then us. We will say that you are their long lost little sister.”
“That sounds great.”
I couldn’t believe it. I was actually going to live with the Cullens! My aunt, my last connection to my old life, would be with me. That is what I had wanted for a long time.
“Anything else about you we need to know?” Bella asked me.
“Well, you already know one of my powers.”
“One?” asked Rosalie.
“Yes, one. I have two powers. There’s controlling inanimate objects with my mind. And I also have the strength and speed of a new born vampire.”
Jasper’s mouth dropped open. “But you haven’t been a new born for many years.”
I nodded. “Yes but the strength and speed never seemed to decrease.”
“Let me see something,” Emmett stepped forward. “Arm wrestle me.”
I beat him so quick it made his head spin.
“See what I mean?” I smirked.
“Race me to my room and back,” Edward challenged me.
We both stood at the door. Emmett yelled “GO!” and we both took off. I was at least 3 seconds faster than Edward.
“Edward is the fastest of us all and you beat him,” Alice was bewildered.
“That’s what I mean. My new born strength and speed never wore off.”
“Fascinating,” said Carlisle thoughtfully.
I shrugged. They all laughed, including me.
“Ok,” Carlisle was still slightly laughing. “Would you be ok with Edward’s old room? He and Bella live in the cottage now.”
“Sure.”
“Come on Ali.”
I lifted my one bag with my mind and followed Alice upstairs to my new room. She insisted that before I start school, she buys me new clothes. I figured it was okay. I mean, I didn’t have very many outfits and Alice had good style.
The next few days went pretty smoothly. I seemed to fit right in with the Cullens. Rosalie was a little cold but that was just her. Emmett was already acting like we had known each other for years, like I was his little sister, I liked it. I have to admit, Edward’s mindreading was a little annoying but I liked not hiding things from him. It made things easier for me; I think it made us closer. Being around Jasper made me feel so calm when I was with him that I never wanted to leave his side. But I had a feeling that this would cease after I got used to it. Bella was so sweet to me. She acted like I was a friend that moved long ago and was finally back. She welcomed me warmly. I loved having Renesmee around. It is impossible to be mad when you are around her. Carlisle and Esme really made me feel like their daughter. I could see why the Cullen and Hale kids were so happy. Alice was by far the sweetest. She took me shopping, showed me around town. (That didn’t take very long.) I loved having my aunt in my life. But now, she was my sister.
Carlisle had me enrolled in high school the second day I was in Forks. He had decided I was a junior. I was a bit scared though, my brothers and sisters had already graduated, and I would have no one. Bella gave me some advice on that subject.
“I know it is a bit scary, but when I started, all of them were very friendly to me.”
“But it was different for you. I’m a Hale. They will all shy away from me,” I told her.
She sighed and looked into my eyes. “They will be drawn to you. Trust me.”
I took her advice into consideration. I hoped she was right.
Chapter 2. The Staring:
And so my first day of school came. Alice dressed me up in a fitted royal blue dress. Luckily, she let me wear skinny jeans under it. In order to keep up the disguise, I wore a plain black jacket.
Alice drove me to school in her yellow Porsche, wished me a good day, and left me with a sinking feeling in my stomach. Quickly, I got my schedule and rushed to my first class, Trigonometry.
The second I walked into my class, all eyes turned on me. I felt like Bella, the eyes were on me but I didn’t want them to be. I could hear them whispering. A boy in the center row said, “I didn’t know angels lived in Forks.” Another boy whispered, “If she doesn’t get a date to the prom that means the world is coming to an end.”
I tried to seem confident and just walked up to my teacher, Mr. Varner I think, and handed him my schedule.
His eyes widened when he looked at my name, figures.
“Alice Hale?”
There were several more whispers throughout the room. “Another Hale?” was the most used one.
I nodded.
“You can call me Ali, as to not get me confused with my sister, Alice Cullen.”
“Ok Ali. Well your seat is right over there. Beside Mr. Kelly,” He gestured to a boy at my right. I couldn’t see his face; he was turned around talking to his friends. Great, I thought.
Even as I took my seat, the staring didn’t decrease. The boy I had to sit by didn’t immediately turn around when I sat down. When he did, he jumped, and then laughed as he calmed himself. His face was gorgeous. Ocean blue eyes that captured me, perfect features, and short, spiky black hair.
“Wow, you’re graceful,” He had an enveloping Irish accent. “I didn’t hear you sit down.”
“Yeah I get that a lot.” I was surprised that he didn’t seem frightened by me. He didn’t shy away from me. My smell, my eyes, my face, nothing affected him; or nothing seemed to.
“I’m Damian Kelly,” I hesitated to shake the hand he extended, but I took it.
“Alice Hale,” I noticed his eyes widen slightly at my cold skin, but he didn’t let go like I shocked him or something. “You can call me Ali.”
“Well Ali, I didn’t know the Hale’s had another sister.”
“Well we were separated when I was very young.”
He nodded. “That family of yours is pretty big now huh?”
“I guess. But it’s nice, having a big family.”
“I suppose.”
Mr. Varner called the class to order. But I still felt eyes on me, still heard whispering. Just get through the class, I thought.
Briiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing! The bell rang at the end of class. I quickly started moving to the door. As I was walking down the hall, I smelled oranges; I already knew that smell, Damian was right behind me, all of his friends gone. When I turned abruptly, he stopped. He had been staring at me, I could tell. I gestured for him to come and join me. A smile appeared on his face and he came to me.
“I didn’t mean to stare,” he was flustered, embarrassed even.
“It’s okay. I should get used to it,” I chuckled.
He laughed. “I guess. I mean, you are a Hale after all. And, forgive me for being so frank, but you are…quite beautiful.”
I looked at him and he refused to meet my eye line.
“Thank you,” I smiled at him. “So what class do you have next?”
“Biology.”
“Me too; Are you stalking me or something?”
He laughed. It was like a chorus of angels. I got lost in it. Stop it! I thought. You can’t think that. NEVER think that.
“Well none of my really close friends are in Biology with me. I have you now.”
“At least you have friends here. I have nothing. Just staring and whispering following me.”
“Well I have lived here longer. And I have a feeling that you will make friends quick,” His smile made me gasp. I seemed almost human at that moment.
Damian and I walked into Biology together. Heads turned as they had in Trig. Again, whispering and staring. Even more since I was with Damian. Unfortunately, the seat by him was taken. The only seats open were by a boy that was talking to himself and by a girl that was doodling on a piece of paper. I went with the girl. She looked at me when I sat; I tried to be louder than I was with Damian.
“Hello,” I said, trying to be friendly. “My name is-“
“Oh I know who you are. Alice Hale.” Her voice was kind, her face soft. She was beautiful, long, wavy, sleek, black hair and bright green eyes.
I smiled at her. “I can’t believe that information already made it around school,” she seemed frozen with disbelief at first when I laughed. Like it was weird I was even talking to her, let alone laughing. But she joined in.
“I’m Kamaria Lavigne. Friends call me Kami,” She extended her hand, when I shook it, she jumped slightly at my touch.
“Okay Kami. And you can call me Ali.”
Class begun, I knew all this stuff so I took in my surroundings. It was a typical Biology room; Weird things in jars, microscopes, etc. My gaze shifted to the page that Kami had been doodling on. There was “Cian and Kami” written all over it surrounded by little hearts. I smiled. She had a crush.
Suddenly, the bell rang. Kami and I stood and walked over to Damian.
Damian already knew Kami, so we all walked out of the room talking.
My other classes before lunch were a breeze. Kami and Damian seemed to be in every one. At lunch, Damian’s friends rejoined him. Kami tensed at my side and looked at one boy. He had shocking eyes. I don’t know why but they seemed to look into my mind. They were silvery. He had olive skin and hair like Damian’s but just a little shorter. A little bit taller than him too; which was hard to be.
“Ali, this is Oliver, Wesley, and Cian,” Cian. I thought.
Oliver, Wesley, and Cian all looked alike. Except for their eyes. Wesley’s were hazel and Oliver’s were a light shade of brown.
“And you guys all know Kami,” Kami quickly stopped staring at Cian. But Cian smiled at her. I can help her with this… I thought.
Oliver seemed to not be able to take his eyes off me. When I looked away I saw Damian elbow him out of the corner of my eye. He quickly looked away. So I assumed Damian was the leader of his little group. They all seemed to follow him. Plus, he had a leadership quality. I found this intriguing. Stop it! I thought. You can never have him.
Lunch was difficult. It was hard to convince them that I wasn’t hungry. I used Edward’s line that he used to convince Bella he wasn’t hungry. She told me about this.
“I’m on a special diet,” I told them, trying to hold back laughter.
Kami just rolled her eyes and gave up. Thank goodness.
Chapter 3. Friends:
Kami was quickly becoming my best friend. We were a lot alike. Well, except for the vampirism. She stunned me. Kami had the happiest outlook on life. She felt that you should live every moment to the fullest and never look back. I wished I could share her view. But there was one aspect of her that bummed me out. Kami wouldn’t tell Cian about her feelings. She had to, I knew it. I decided to talk to her about it one lunch; about a month after my first day of school.
We sat down at our usual table, my family’s old table. It seemed like no one wanted to sit there, like it might shock them or something. Lucky for me.
I had to talk to her before the guys came.
“Kami, you have to talk to Cian,” I told her, my hands folded on the table.
Her eyes widened and she shook her head. “No, I don’t have to. I can’t talk to him. He would just shoot me down,” She picked at her pizza.
I couldn’t help but laugh. Her face softened at the sound.
“Don’t you see the way he looks at you? He can’t take his eyes off you most of the time!”
“He doesn’t stare at me!” She blushed. “I wish he did.”
I sighed. “He likes you Kami. Ask him out! Ask him to a movie or something!”
She shook her head quickly.
Before I could respond, the guys took their seats; Damian next to me, Cian by Kami, and Oliver in between them.
“Still not hungry Ali?” Damian looked at the empty space in front of me.
I smiled and grabbed the apple of his plate then took a huge bite out of it. It didn’t really have a taste to me, but I swallowed it anyway. I had to keep up the charade; I saw why my family only sat with each other.
“Happy?” I smirked.
They all laughed.
“I would be happier if that wasn’t MY apple,” He smiled at me.
I thought about how close Damian was to Cian. He could help me…
I moved my lips to his ear and I saw him get a chill from my breath.
“I need to talk to you later about Cian and Kami.”
I looked at his face when I backed away. He was still in slight shock from my breath and voice but he nodded and started talking to Oliver.
I studied Oliver’s face. There was something that seemed familiar about him but I couldn’t put my finger on it. There was something about his skin, his smell, and his eyes…
“Ali I have a question for you.”
I quickly looked back at Kami.
“Yes Kami?”
“Do you,” she lowered her voice. “Think I’m pretty?”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Of course I do! You’re beautiful!”
“Really?”
“Yes! That was one of my first thoughts when I first saw you.”
“Hmm,” she contemplated. “It’s just, I feel kind of plain when I stand by you. I mean, I don’t have to tell you that you are the prettiest girl in this school!” She laughed. “You are the most gorgeous girl I have ever met. And, I don’t get how someone like you can think that I’M beautiful.”
I shook my head.
“Kami you’re silly. You ARE beautiful. No matter whom your friends are or who you hang with, you ARE beautiful. And I’m not just saying that because you’re my best friend.”
She smiled.
“Thanks Ali. So, I’m your best friend?”
I nodded.
“Wow, I never thought I would even be friends with a Hale, let alone best friends with one of them.”
I smiled back at her.
“Well you are.”
After school, I grabbed Damian’s arm and pulled him aside. Kami gave me a wary look, said goodbye and left me and Damian alone.
“Damian, this is about earlier.”
“About Cian and Kami?” I nodded. “So you know about Cian’s crush on Kami?”
My mouth dropped open.
“Cian has a crush on Kami?”
Damian’s oceanic eyes widened and he shook his head rapidly.
“No! No he doesn’t! I didn’t say anything!”
I laughed.
“Damian,” I was suddenly aware that my hand was still gripping Damian’s arm and I pulled it swiftly away. “Kami likes Cian!”
“Really?”
“Gah, you are an idiot.”
He chuckled breathlessly.
“She constantly stares at him just like he constantly stares at her!”
His eyes narrowed, he was trying to remember, and then they widened.
“We HAVE to get them together!”
“I know! This is why I wanted to talk to you. She is like completely in love with him. I thought he liked her too, and you just confirmed that but she doesn’t believe me.”
His eyes became contemplating.
“I have an idea! We can set them up on double date!”
The breath going into my body that I didn’t need ceased to flow. I thought I knew where this was going.
“Who would be the other couple?”
The gorgeous human standing in front of me became nervous. I could smell the blood boiling in his cheeks and the sweat beading up on his hands. It took all I had not to jump on him, his heating blood.
“Well, I know this is kind of a weird way to do this but uh,” He wouldn’t meet my eye line. “Do you want to go with me?”
I smiled, the breath in my body still refused to flow.
“Sure.”
When he looked into my eyes, I could see the joy. I could only imagine the joy in mine.
“Text you later?” he asked.
I nodded and headed towards the bright yellow Porsche on the parking lot. I noiselessly opened the door and hopped gracefully in.
“Bonjour Sis,” I said to my ‘sister.’ “How was your day?”
Alice’s face was worried and troubled.
“Are you okay?”
She looked into my eyes.
“Ali, I just had a vision.”
“What was it Alice? Is everyone okay?”
She nodded.
“Ali, I just saw you, on a date with that human boy.”
I leaned back into my chair and sighed.
“Well, Damian kind of asked me on a double date with these two people we are trying to set up.”
“Ali,” she was shaking her head. “No. Don’t do this to us again. With Edward, it was terrible to have to refuse him for so long. And you will only end up getting hurt. You can’t stay with him.”
“I know sis. Since I met him, I have kept that thought in my head; that I can’t have him. I know. It will be fine.”
She just kept shaking her head.
“This can’t end well! You’re in too deep already. You can’t go out with Damian.”
“Alice don’t do this to me! I have been waiting for this date. Plus, we are trying to set up Cian and Kami. They need this. Please sis, please.”
My eyes became pleading. Alice had to let me have this. I knew I couldn’t have Damian. But I had to help Kami and Cian.
The vampire girl sighed in defeat.
“Fine. But don’t tell anybody else in our family; Edward, Rosalie, and Carlisle will freak.”
“Edward will just read our minds.”
“Just try to keep your thoughts to yourself okay?”
I nodded.
“Deal, now can we go home?”
Her face finally softened when we drove home. Once outside the house, we were joined by Bella and Edward.
“Hey guys,” I said as I jumped out of the car. I was working as hard as I could to keep Damian out of my mind. I didn’t succeed.
“No Ali,” Edward’s voice was stern.
Then Alice looked at me. “You let the thought slip?”
I nodded pathetically then turned back to Edward.
“Edward I’m going. I don’t care what you say. Alice will defend me.”
“No Ali. I am never going to let you feel the pain of having to leave someone that you love.”
I noticed Bella cringe out of the corner of my eye.
“I’m not going to get in deep. This is just so I can set up two of my friends. Don’t worry.”
Edward was surprisingly easy to convince. I think it was because he knew how it felt to love a human you thought you could never have.
“Fine, but be careful Ali.”
“I will be brother. And one more thing, don’t tell the others. I don’t want them to worry.”
Chapter 4. Success and Failure:
We set the date up for Friday night. Damian invited Cian and I invited Kami. It was perfect; they would totally admit the fact that they were perfect for each other. But there was one problem, I had feelings for Damian. He was all I could think about. It was hard to remember the fact that I couldn’t have him, but I had to try. Damian can never be yours, I thought to myself. Keep those thoughts out of your head.
It didn’t work. I still thought about him. I even thought about changing him, which was a terrible idea. I couldn’t do that to my family.
Going on this date was not going to help me. Especially when I saw him outside of the movie theater, waiting for me. Alice dressed me in a soft green tube top dress cut at the knee with black flats, and then she dropped me off.
“Remember Ali, you can’t have him,” She warned me.
I didn’t know how to respond so I just got out of the car and started walking towards him. He was wearing a nice blue button up dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up and jeans. He looked casual, but still dressed for a date. The gorgeous boy in front of me had his hands behind his back, leaning against the wall of the theater. As I approached, he straightened up and his face became joyful; like he was doubtful that I would even show up.
“Bonjour Damian,” his eyes seemed to sparkle when I said his name.
“Hoigh Ali,” his voice was a little flustered.
“You know Irish?”
“Some, like ‘Hi’,’” he revealed a red rose from behind his back. “This is for you.”
I smiled at the rose as I took it. No, I thought. This was just going to make it harder. He was just too sweet.
“Thank you Damian,” it was too painful. I knew I wouldn’t be able to say goodbye to him. I felt that Damian was my destiny. It took all that I had to deny that. I had to, for my family’s sake.
Just then, Kami and Cian walked up to us. Kami looked beautiful. She was all dolled up in a blood red knee length dress. It accented her curves nicely and brought out her eyes. Her flowing hair was held back by a black headband. Cian looked just as good. He had a shirt like Damian’s but it was black. Kami and he looked like they had dressed alike on purpose.
I breathed a sigh of relief for knowing that Damian and I weren’t alone anymore and I didn’t have to try to not do something rash.
“Hey guys. Want to go inside?”
As we walked inside, Kami and I started talking and Cian and Damian started talking.
“I’m scared,” I whispered to Kami.
“I know how much you like him, I’m scared too.”
“No it’s not that, it’s just, never mind, you wouldn’t get it.”
“Tell me.”
I shook my head.
“It is hard to explain.”
During the movie, the tension between Damian and I grew. But things between Kami and Cian seemed to be going great. In the middle of the movie, Cian put his arm around Kami, the whole yawning trick. The look on Kami’s face was priceless. I had never seen her happier.
About five minutes after this, Damian slowly and cautiously took my hand. I could have easily pulled away but I didn’t want to. I took pleasure in the fact that he didn’t cringe at my cold skin. This motion made me so happy; I laid my head on his shoulder. No, no, no, no, no! I thought. YOU-CAN’T-HAVE-HIM, I told myself.
Through the rest of the movie, I was trying to convince myself that I didn’t like him. I did not succeed. The electricity between Damian and me didn’t cease through the whole movie.
When the movie ended, Damian, Cian, and Kami talked about the movie. I didn’t join in; I hadn’t paid attention to the movie. I think Damian noticed.
We said goodbye to Cian and Kami when we got outside. He was taking her home. They had finally realized the others’ feelings. Damian and I had done our job.
“Come on Ali, I’m parked right over there,” he didn’t even hesitate to take my hand and guide me to his midnight blue Toyota Tundra.
The drive to my mansion was quite and resolute. His truck didn’t make any noise and we didn’t feel like talking. Thoughts were still running through my head about Damian, my family, and how terrible the situation was. I barely even took notice when Damian opened my door and walked me up to the Cullen mansion.
“Ali.”
I looked into his eyes and felt my breathing stop again; I could smell his blood boiling beneath his cheeks.
“Are you okay? You seem a little off tonight.”
“I-I’m fine, just got some things on my mind.”
“I only have one thing on my mind, you.”
“Oh Damian,” I looked away from his face and out into the forest. “I can’t do this, this is too painful. I-I’ll only end up hurting you.”
“How would you hurt me? You like me too don’t you?”
My gaze turned back to his eyes, if I had been able to cry, I would have.
“Of course my dear Damian. You are one of my closest friends, and you are just wonderful. I don’t think I will ever meet another guy like you.”
“Then what is the problem?”
“Damian, I’m not like you. Me, my family, we are different.”
“I know it. To start with, all of you are gorgeous. I NEVER thought I would be on a date with a Hale, especially the most beautiful one.”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Damian, you wouldn’t understand. We are…we are…”
“Ali, I don’t care what you think you are. I…I don’t think it matters. It is you I want.”
“We have only had one date!”
“So what!” his face was stern but still as beautiful as always. “I feel like I have known you for years; like you are my destiny.”
“But Damian, I’m not what you think I am, we are all-“
I didn’t get to say “vampires”; because right then, Damian kissed me. The entire world stopped. When his warm, soft lips met my cold, hard ones, and his fingers were tangled in my hair, everything became right. I pressed my hands to his back and brought him closer. The scent of his heating blood didn’t even bother me. All that mattered was Damian. I could hear his heart beating faster and faster. But unfortunately, he started the kiss, and had to end it. I didn’t resist him.
“I’ll see you on Monday love,” he said, and then he walked away.
I watched him go with a heavy heart. This is bad, I thought. I was starting to fall for him. My heart longed for him. With him gone, I felt only half there.
Someone stirred inside the house. My family had heard me. Edward knew what I had done. Soon, I knew, they would be outside, warning me.
I didn’t wait for them to do so. Flinging the door open I didn’t even take notice to my entire family standing in the living room. Instead, I ran straight to my room, Edward beat me there.
“Now you may be faster than me but I know what your next move will be,” my brother had an angry and concerned look on his face, and had his arms crossed across his chest.
“Get out of my way Edward. I know you want to talk to me about what happened but I’m not in the mood.”
“Ali we need to talk about this.”
“No we don’t! Now don’t make me move you because I will do it!”
He didn’t budge.
“Fine,” I flung him aside with one arm and opened my door mentally. I heard a crash as he hit the wall. Taking no interest, I ran inside my room, shut the door, and flung myself onto my royal blue couch; burying my face in a pillow.
Thankfully, they left me alone. I sat there, thinking, for hours. Thinking about Damian, and the trouble I was getting my family into. This was the only time I had ever wished I could sleep. Just to get away from the world for a little while. I felt like the only person in the world as I lay there. Until there was a soft knock on my door.
“Ali? Can I come in?”
It was Carlisle. He was one of the only people in the world that would see both sides of the equation, and hear both arguments, before making judgments.
I softly rolled myself onto my back.
“Come in Carlisle,” the door opened at my will.
Carlisle’s face made me feel a little calmer. There was no judgment, no ridicule, just love and concern.
“Sweetheart, I need to talk to you about Damian. Well, we do.”
Just then, the rest of my family piled into my room. Only Edward, Jasper, and Rosalie had an angry look. The rest of them were like Carlisle.
“Ali,” I looked back at my father, “I’m sorry but you can’t see Damian anymore.”
My eyes widened.
“No Carlisle. Don’t do this to me,” I sat up.
“Ali this is serious,” Rosalie’s voice was as hard and cold as our skin.
“I know this is serious, so am I, don’t do this to me guys. I-I…love him.”
“Oh come on!” yelled Rosalie. “You are so much like Edward.”
Edward’s face was softening. He was one of the two people that understood how I felt. It was different with Bella, but she knew too.
I jumped up into standing, I felt too vulnerable on my couch.
“It is true Rose. I love Damian. When we are together, I feel whole. Without him, I feel like half of me is missing.”
“I know how that feels,” Edward’s face was now the softest of all of them. I think he would have cried if possible.
“Oh here we go again. Edward, it all worked out okay? Bella is a vampire, you have a kid, and it is all fine. This is different!” I felt intense anger towards Rosalie at that moment.
Edward tensed.
“This is not different! She loves a human! It is exactly the same! And I can’t believe I am saying this but, she has the right to want him, and be with him.”
It was obvious this was splitting into two sides. Edward on mine, Rosalie on the other.
“I’m with Edward. She loves him and that is that. I know it is highly improbable but she should be with him,” Alice walked over and stood by Edward’s side. She was with me.
“I disagree,” Jasper was siding with Rose. “Do you know how disastrous this could be for us? We have enough vampires living in one place we don’t need more! And we don’t need any more newborns around.” Jazz took his place by Rose.
“Who cares if we have another newborn?!” Emmett stood up for me. “She loves him! I can see it in her eyes! I saw that same look in Edward’s when he was trying to get over Bella. Ali is trying to convince herself to say goodbye to Damian but she can’t do it because she is in love with him! It’s just the way it is! Give her a break.”
Thank you, I mouthed to Emmett, he nodded back.
“I am with Emmett on this one,” Esme joined in. “Imagine if Edward hadn’t went back to Bella, think of how miserable he would be right now! I don’t want Ali to end up like that.”
Esme’s face was so loving, I really felt like she was my mother.
Bella and Carlisle both refused to take sides. Which surprised me, I thought Bella would be on mine.
“We have to change this boy!” Edward screamed at his siblings.
“Are you serious?! We don’t need more newborns!” Rosalie screamed back.
“Who cares Rose? As long as Ali has her Damian! We all have our soul mates. Why should we deprive her of hers?!” Emmett was really helping.
“It will just complicate things and put our family in further danger!”
My family continued to screech at each other. The stress got to me.
“STOP!” I yelled. In a mere second, I was in between the two groups, my arms outstretched and my entire family pushed against the wall.
Carlisle stared at me, wide eyed.
I looked down at my hands. I had just figured out that I could move people with my mind too. But it took a lot of force, and anger.
Rosalie stood and I stuck my hand back out, thinking that I wanted her against the wall, and then she was.
“Stay! All of you! Now listen to me. I will not ask you to change him for me; I will not put you through that. But I AM NOT going to stay away from him. This man is too dear to me for me to do that.”
I lowered my arms and allowed them to all stand up.
“Now I’m going hunting for a little bit. I just now realized how thirsty his blushing cheeks made me. Anyone that wants to come with me is welcome,” swiftly and gracefully, I made my way outside and to the river.
I was about to jump when I smelled my sister. She smelled like white roses.
“Coming Alice?”
Alice walked up next to me and put her tiny hand on my shoulder.
“I know that must have been hard Alice, to stand up for me. Thank you.”
She shrugged.
“It wasn’t that hard.”
I chuckled.
“Still, thank you.”
Bella was suddenly at my other side.
“Sis, I’m sorry I didn’t stand up for you. But I didn’t want to join in the fight.”
“It’s ok Bella.”
She sighed.
“But Ali, I want you to know, I know how hard that was for you to say we don’t have to change him. I know how hard it is to love someone that you can never have.”
“You got Edward, Bella, I won’t get Damian. We just made that clear.”
“Hey you never know. They told Edward he could never have me. Yet here we are.”
I looked into Bella’s eyes. This much was true. For many months, they told Edward he could never have her. Yet now, she was a vampire, and he had her. I doubted this would happen for Damian and me, but I could hope.
“Thank you Bella. Now let’s hunt.”
All three of us leapt gracefully to the other side of the river. I landed farther than them, do to my newborn strength. I closed my eyes and breathed in. The smell of elk filled my nose coming from the…
“North,” my eyes shot open. “Do you guys smell that?”
Alice nodded.
“Three full grown elk to the North,” Alice informed us.
We wasted no more time. The three of us shot towards the smell of elk then jumped noiselessly into a tree above our prey. I thought out a plan in my head, how I would kill.
The elk were about to move, their heart rates had accelerated. I think they could sense us there, lurking in the trees.
Bella gave me the signal and we pounced. As my teeth sunk into the elk’s thick neck, warm blood flooded my mouth. My thirst was starting to subside. But I needed more.
My sisters and I hunted for a few more hours, talking and laughing. We stopped when morning came. On our way back to the mansion, Alice abruptly stopped.
“She is having a vision,” I ran back to her.
“Alice, what do you see?” Bella asked her.
“It’s a werewolf.”
Bella’s brow furrowed in confusion.
“Wait, I thought you couldn’t see werewolves.”
“No Ali, I can’t. That’s just it. My vision is blank. It’s just a white space. But it is still a vision.”
“We must tell Carlisle,” Bella said.
My sisters and I zoomed back to the mansion. Carlisle was in his study, reading one of his many books. He stood up when we walked in.
“Father,” Alice said. “I just had a vision. A werewolf is going to do something that affects us. I don’t know what, but something is going to happen.”
“Did you just see a white space?” Carlisle asked us.
Alice nodded.
“We should tell the werewolves. Ask them if something is going on with the wolves.”
“I’ll call Seth,” Bella rushed to take out her cell phone and dial Seth’s number. We waited for her and after about a minute, she snapped her phone shut.
“He said we can come over. Let’s go.”
We informed the others of the situation. Me, Carlisle, Alice, and Edward decided to go meet the wolves. Bella was going to go but Edward took her place; Seth and he were great friends after the battle with the newborns.
Hi! Sorry about the short chapter. I had homework. There will bo more Edward in this chapter too! On with the story!
Chapter 6 pt 2
I laughed. "I missed you so much". "I missed you too Bella. So, what do you want to do today? There's a thunderstorm coming. Do you want to play ball?" "Ok". Just then, Charlie came down the stairs. He was frowning. Edward looked surprised. "What happened Dad?", I asked. "Ben Matthews' body was found by the river today. It looked like he was dead for three hours untill they found him. All the blood was drained from his body." "Is it alright if I go to Edward's for a few hours"? "Okay. But be careful".
Sorry about the chapter again. My mom told me to get off the computer. I will finish the chapter tomorrow. I swear and if I'm lying, may I get a paper cut in front of Jasper.
