"I have to talk to you," Duncan whispered urgently.
Courtney swung her brunette hair around and gazed him in the eyes. She felt lost there for a moment, and in those eyes, she found something special. "Duncan...?"
"Meet me at the boathouse at midnight," Duncan continued, winking.
"Uh, okay..." Courtney murmured; she couldn't say anything else. She would have believe anything from Duncan, and she had to fight hard to control herself around him.
"What?"
"Okay," Courtney repeated.
Duncan smiled and winked. "See ya later, Princess."
Princess...
"I don't know what it is, Courtney," Duncan said. "I really don't. But there's something about you..."
At that moment Courtney felt whole, as if a missing piece she never even knew was missing had been added to her life. She had a perfect life, friends, popularity, lawyers... but there was something else she needed.
This was her something else.
"Duncan... I don't know how to say this," Courtney began hesitantly.
"What, like I do, Princess?" Duncan smiled teasingly.
"You should," Courtney whispered, leaning forward towards Duncan.
"Oh, Princess!" Duncan crowed. "Falling for me, are ya?"
Courtney blinked. "No..." she whispered, but she leaned towards Duncan a little more, so that their heads nearly touched.
Duncan drew back for a moment and laughed, and then he went back to his chill-out position, one centimeter from Courtney. Somehow Duncan's hand had managed to curve around Courtney's tan one, shooting cold bolts of energy into Courtney's warm hand.
Courtney didn't know what she was doing at all now, her brain had gone completely helpless. All she could do was lean forward almost unconsiously while she fought to stay alert.
She stared into Duncan's soft blue-jay eyes for a moment, and she immediately got lost in the depth of the aquamarine-colored pool. She was scared that Duncan might now want her to kiss him, but not enough to stop her will.
Courtney leaned forward still, until her lips barely touched Duncan's, closing her eyes, enjoying and savoring the moment, and leaning forwards into the kiss.
Duncan's arms strenghtened around her; binding the two of them together... it was like there was an invincible bubble of love around them, shielding them from anything that might disturb this perfect moment.
The two wrapped around each other, kissing each other deeply, with strength and love, both not really able to get their thoughts straight, only that they were there, in reality, and it was perfect.
Damn, Duncan. Why do you have to be such a goddamn good kisser?
When they finally pulled apart, Courtney gazed into Duncan's eyes, marvelling at what she saw there. It was a mixture of love, will, passion, and strength, just what she wanted to see.
She didn't know why she didn't realize it before, but Duncan was hers. She could tell by the way he looked at her, by the way her heart thumped as he gazed at her dark eyes, by his mock-teasing that she always found kind-of cute...
What she saw in those aqua eyes of Duncan's, Courtney realized...
...it was an exact reflection of her own heart.
I hate Courtney. I'd always found her to be annoying, which is why I wrote this. I have a huge crush on Duncan, and I need to see Courtney's less-douchebaggy side, and focus on the sweeter side of her. I hoped you liked it TT
