Vetos POV

I wasn’t sure whether I should check out what was going on or not. Everyone was in a panic. I’m pretty sure I heard voices I’m not really familiar with; Maddies sister, maybe. I very slowly opened the door and looked back into the living room. Toby was laying on the ground. Everyone looked up at me. ‘’Its your fault!’’ Marcus yelled while pointing towards me. ‘’What is? What happened?’’ I said while staring at Toby. ‘’This chick here punched Toby straight in the kisser! Then Brandon punched him too! I think they knocked him out cold!’’ Marcus said in a panic. It was Maddies sister- Zara, I think. ‘’...how was it my fault?’’ I looked up at Marcus. ‘’If it wasn’t for you coming along in the streets, Toby wouldn’t have got hurt!’’ ‘’Maybe if Toby didn’t come up to me--’’ Valencia cut me off. ‘’The damage is done.’’ I wasn’t really sure what was going to happen next. We all stood there in the silence for a while until Marcus spoke up. ‘’I barely know you people. I don’t even know why we're in your house.’’ He started pulling Toby outside. I guess they DID knock Toby out. I started to laugh. Everyone turned to me. ‘’At least it wasn’t me who punched him this time!’’ They all just stared. ‘’No? Okay...’’ I said while putting my hands behind my back. Ever since I moved to Canada, I punched Toby in the face over 3 times and I got suspended from school twice. Toby only got suspended once though, we actually broke out into a fight that time. The first time, the principal only gave him 3 days of detention.


Around 11pm, I finally got home. I didn’t think anyone was home. It was extremely quiet. Oddly enough, there was a paddle in the TV and glass everywhere. Then I heard these....weird....noises. I don’t even know how to explain them. There was a light on it Dannys room. I remembered that Danny said Sayu was coming over and I automatically froze.

I almost left the house when Sayu came running out of Dannys room. ‘’C’mere!’’ She said while moving her hand towards his room. ‘’Do I wanna go in there?’’ I asked with a disgusted look on my face. ‘’Danny is hurt!’’ We both ran down to his room. There was glass in his legs and around his wrists. There was blood all over his sheets. ‘’Woah! What happened?!’’ ‘’We were playing a game....and.... He lost multiple times... and you weren’t home on time... he just got so frustrated that he threw his paddle at the wall, but missed and it hit the TV’’ ‘’What are we gonna do?’’ I was puzzled. ‘’Just- Take the glass out’’ Danny mumbled. I figured we shouldn’t call an ambulance -- Its not that important and we wouldn’t be able to afford it. Sayu and I started pulling glass out. Someone started knocking on the door. I ran out to the living room to see who it was. Just my luck, it was Toby. I stuck my tongue at him and gave him the finger then ran back to Dannys room. If mom caught me, she would've killed me.... but... she ….can't. Danny smiled. ‘’Why’d you have to suggest playing- OW- games?’’ He almost started to laugh. I couldn’t image it hurting that much, I often got little pieces of glass in my feet. I thought of when I was around... 7... there was a little rock stuck in my foot. Now that hurt. Okay, so maybe it did hurt. I’m guessing Danny was pretty close to the TV for all this glass to be in him. It didn’t look like Sayu had any stuck in her.

Around 12pm, we all went to bed. Danny slept in dads bed and Sayu slept out on the couch. I couldn’t really sleep at first. I just laid there thinking about mum and dad, Toby, Brandon and Marcus, and everything that happened today. Right before I dozed off, I thought about Valencia, Paige and Maddie. Real nice girls. Fun to hang out with, and if it wasn’t for them, I probably would have got my ass kicked today. Them and Reid are probably my best friends. Then I fell asleep. And those three girls; they were what I dreamt about that night.
