Today was the day I was going home. To my empty little home, I am still not used to her not being there by my side. Normally when I came back from a trip she would call my name and then we would run to each other, I would pick her up and twirl her around before setting her down to kiss her lips that were soft like velvet and tasted like strawberries. I missed her so much and I guess that tradition would be broken starting today. As I grabbed my bags an advisor told me and Aaron that we were going to the palace. The two of us went back to our rooms to change into something nicer to see the king and the queen. I sighed as I unpacked the nicest set of clothes I had, but a picture from our wedding 3 months ago exactly today. I felt a tear roll down my cheek before splashing against the concrete floor below my feet. I put the picture in sport coat’s pocket and closed my suitcase before heading outside to the limo that would take us to the palace. As I put my suitcase in the trunk and sat inside I couldn’t help, but stared at the photo I had and Aaron seemed to notice, besides me I think he was taking it the hardest because Flora was his little sister and he promised their parents he would always take care of her, yet he feels like he failed them. The rest of the ride was silent since neither of us had much to talk about, besides being lucky to get to go home nor not fight in the war. So I sighed and sat back for the rest of the ride there.
-------at the palace the girls were giving Flora a makeover, but none would tell her why because they wanted to keep it a surprise.
Stella: girls which dress for our girl Flo, the pink, yellow, black and beige or white?
Bloom and Roxy: white
Savannah and Tecna: pink
Roxy and Layla: yellow
Musa and Krystal: the black and beige one
Flora: don’t I get a say in which dress I wear? (She folds her arms and they all crack up laughing since no one can be serious for too long with all of them around)
Stella: well which do you want to wear?
Flora: I don’t know I like the pink one since it’s my favorite color and it just seems so simple and elegant, I love the lace and the off the shoulder part of the white one, the yellow is really pretty with the simple details and then I love that the last one is two toned, has ruffles, and a- line skirt, and the v neck is the back is pretty.
Roxy: you know it’s a tie currently
Flora: so that means Stella gets to choose lucky me
Stella: okay girls while I choose the final outfit you guys do her hair and makeup and I’ll be back in an hour with the final selection
--an hour later Stella arrives with a garment bag and Flora has her hair done in curls with natural looking make up and cute little modern day glass like slippers. Stella reveals the dress and part of the group does a happy dance for calling it while Flora gets changed. When she is done everyone gasps and tells her how pretty she looks. The dress is tight in all the right places and fits just perfect like the way you want your wedding dress to fit. Everyone starts heading downstairs, but Krystal and Flora talk to stall some time
Flora: so are you going to tell me why I’m dressed up so fancy?
Krystal: you’ll see soon enough and you’re going to love it
---Stella from downstairs: you can come out now (the two exchange glances and head towards the stairs)
--Krystal walks slightly behind Flora but not enough for her to notice that she was walking slower to stay behind, once they get to the top the stairs Krystal stops and Flora walks a fourth of the way down before talking to Stella
Flora: what did you want Stella? (Looks up and stops walking) (Her thoughts: my heart is racing right now. I honestly feel like I can’t breathe or speak. I feel myself smile while looking down at the people in the throne room of the castle. I honestly feel myself again, yet I do not know what do so I just stand there trying to utter something out and I manage to do that) Helia?
