In my opinion it all depends on the maturity of the kid. For exsample the language here can get a bit vaulger. The 'f bomb' gets dropped a lot and so does 'bitch'. A kid who can handle cussing maturely is cool but if the kid starts crying about it (as he/she should have expected it) or starts cussing up a storm (and not even doing it right--for example that kid on the winx vs witch spot who commented 'I hate Will, her ass is so bitchy') that's not okay. And then there's the fact that most younger kids don't know how to respectfully voice an opinion and/or respect another person's opinion. And to top that off if the kid doesn't respect others or voice things respectfully he/she won't handle the criticize he/she receives for it very well. Trust me I've seen all 3 of these things. So it's not about the kids age, it's about their maturity level.

The answer is too simple. Here is the main reason why kids under 13 (yes, 13) shouldn't be allowed on Fanpop at all. I don't believe their parents would seriously allow their kids to have an account.
They aren't mature enough. (I can't believe most of the people here are so young! Most are 10-13 and I don't mind that, but I find them immensly immature! If we don't like their favorite character or we hate on them, their language becomes vulgar and I can't imagine little kids even saying it!)
Omg, and if we say, "it's my opinion.," they report stuff because they don't agree with them. Really, I feel pitty for all those kids who cuss just to get their way; and if they don't, they'll go and complain to their parents.
Some stuff on here could be a bit too much for them. Also,they aren't mature enough. We already have children on here that don't even follow the rules.

I am 13 too. I think we are mature and I think they mean say a 10 year old came on here and began reporting somebody for swearing that is where it is unmature. So do you report people without a reason?No we are good I think.
13 year olds are allowed on this site. The site rule states that the site is suitable for people 13 and older. You guys, by the site standards, are fine. Besides, you guys haven't done anything immature yet.
I have to admit I shouldn't be here yet I'm quite a decade myself. But sometimes if you check walls of some clubs, you see trolls and probably they're underage users.
Or maybe some fans in clubs like to say swearing words. But agreed with zanhar1

Well first of all I am agreed to all the answers given above me. 13 years kids are allowed to this site but small kids like that of 10 years and so are not allowed because it will affect them badly. Here many people tease others or even sometimes use "dirty" words which will affect kids in a bad way plus 13 year kids are counted under teenagers. Teenagers "usually" got sense of how to behave and how to deal with situations. I am not saying that all of them but many of them knows how to handle situation. I joined this spot when I was 13. Even small kids are immature and they are not suitable for making account here or on facebook too.
My opinion is probably diffrent. You see back when i was in elemantary the kids there were very mature they knew how to handle any situation by themselves and thats great they even know how to get pass the bad words..but through my opinion i think maybe only kids 9+ should be making an account here.i mean their almost teenager and plus just like farhah whos ten has been very nice around here.so i think maybe its okay to have them around i just think that they should be mature and over 8 years old and know how to handle their ,situations by themselves
