We'll only know next episode. But, at the end of episode 4 (Morgan's episode) you can here Rick yelling 'OPEN THE GATE!', so he's probably fine. But there's still the mega-herd coming.

The visionary geniuses behind this, the BEST show on any network, love to mess with continuity so more than likely we'll see what happened to Rick in an episode or two, down the road. They may not even air that episode until 2016 cuz there's only two episodes left this year :-(
