It took me completely by surprise when Elijah said the sun and the moon curse was fake! Didn't see that one coming at all, though it does make perfect sense.

well i thought it was a little odd that the curse was aztec and the originals were clearly eastern european, but i never thought it was made up!

I didnt understand why the petrovas were linked to an aztec curse, i still dont understand why they are linked to Klaus's curse, but it seems to make more sense then the curse being aztec!

I thought it was legit although I didn't understand how a Petrova doppelganger could have been used in an Aztec curse. They had shamans not witches and warlocks.

I think this is what might've happened:
In last night's episode, Elijah showed that he cared about Katerina and Klaus told him that they shouldn't because they're vamps and love it's their weakness (something along the lines), to which Elijah replied that they did once before. Aaand when Elijah met Katerina he told her "you remind me of someone" so I THINK that it's a possibility that the woman they both cared about was the first Petrova and their father sacrificed her for the curse on Klaus. It's pretty messed up.

The possibility didn't even cross my mind that the Sun & Moon curse could be fake. The real curse was just wow. I'm really wondering how the Petrova line connects (I like iandamonfan's theory. That would be awesome to see in a flashback scene:D).
