I don't think they will get together this season, I think Elena might confess her feelings to him this season and they will have a first kiss which they both want, but I don't think anything else.

Maybe something small will happen, but I really doubt they'll get together, even for a hookup, this season. Maybe next season.

Elena loves Stefan too much right now. If the writers stay true to their story and do not give into fan pandering, Damon/Elena will never happen.

Yup, they will be developed. But, they won't happen. That is of course as long as the writers stay stay firm on their ground and not give into the fangirls' demands.

If Gossip Girl writers kept Nate and Blair together instead of Chuck and Blair, would people watch? Say with this show. Most of the fanbase find SE boring and it's the writers' job to keep viewers interested so even if they weren't planning on putting Delena together anyway, they will now + that interview I'm refering to is from the beginning of Season 2 and KW said that DE will happen but whether it's this season or next is another question. He also said he didn't understand how people wanted DE together now when he wants to have sweaty palms, butterflies, the works.

You know what happened when the GG writers gave into the fans' demands? The ratings dropped heavily. I used to love CB when I watched the show, but the writers gave too much importance to the fans when deciding the storylines. It ruined the show.
No, shows don't work like that. Terrible shows work like that. Fan pandering is the death of any show.
And most of the fandom does not find SE boring, that's stretching it. DE fans are more vocal, that's all.
