	KatherinePierce picked It's because he doesn't hate her as much as he says he does: The line between love and hate is very thin, and I think Stefan is wavering on that line right now. It is possible to hate and love someone at the same time, and I think to some extent Stefan does hate her, but not near as much as he wants to. He wants to hate her more than anything, but he can't. I personally think he's just using the hate he's created to hide the love that he still feels, and will probably always feel for her. posted over a year ago.

Like Stefan said to Lexi: Stefan: Elena is warm and kind and caring and selfless and it's real So, no they are not the same person! And if you say this,then you should also say that the only feelings Damon has for Elena are cause of Katherine posted over a year ago.

They both love Elena for Elena, but that doesn't change the fact that somewhere deep down Stefan still cares about Katherine. And FYI, I do like Stelena, so I'm not being bias. 	allisoncarleton picked It's because he doesn't hate her as much as he says he does: Elena raised a valid point in that statement. When I heard it I stopped and was like, hmmm, interesting. But Stefan really doesn't hate Katherine. I think that he possibly believes he does, and just doesn't realize he's still in love with or he knows he's still in love with her, and he's using hatred to cover it up. Stefan never probably grieved Katherine, or moved on. He didn't really deal with her death or anything that happened. He didn't want to feel, he didn't want to cope with the loss of her, so he didn't. So all of his feelings are unresolved. Possibly. That's just what I think. posted over a year ago.
